  1. Good thread.

I would most likely rule out "going to the superbowl" unless I won a ticket. The potential risk of dropping thousands of dollars to see them lose is FAR greater than the potential reward of dropping thousands of dollars to celebrate with fewer, less-intimate fans in a city that isn't Buffalo.

I figure I'd be back in WNY, with a reunion of good Bills fan friends and family that I know are in the same boat as I am. While all Bills fans are great to celebrate with, I wouldn't want to NOT be around those that are closest to me: those that have the sat through the miserable games with me and those that have partied their asses off with me along the way.

Put me in a living room, with the valuables tucked away, and with the beers on ice. 8 friends at most. Only Bills diehards. No neutrals, no apologists. A basic beer/liquor/pizza/wing/dip spread that will not run out. Yep, that's where I'll watch the game.

  2. Definitely annoying to start the preseason like this, mostly because it just fuels the Tuel flame.

All of these QBs are still a work in progress. If we're sitting at week 6 below .500, and Manuel is still healthy and making the same mistakes, then I think it's time to try other options.

This about sums up my thoughts

I have no idea if EJ is the guy or not. He needs to play some more and either sink or swim. I do have to say, thus far I am not liking the baby the Bills showed me.

Agreed. I think the biggest problem tonight was that he just didn't play enough. 7 throws isn't much to work with. I thought a few throws were actually pretty good. For instance, if Williams goes up and gets that perfectly placed ball in the end zone, then this thread probably doesn't even exist.

  3. I was just made aware that the former bar, the Dark Horse Saloon, for Baltimore's Bills Backers was closed sometime between last season and this summer.

I've googled, searched the forums, and checked the chapter list (which is out of date), and can't figure out if there has been a new location announced. Any Baltimore Bills fans have any idea? Wouldn't mind going somewhere to watch the game tomorrow night, but definitely need to find a Bills gathering during the regular season.

  4. No. I'm sick of watching a sinking ship over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. I'm sick of November rolling around and already looking forward to the draft. Finally, I'm sick of people who think having the first pick of the draft is a cure-all for any franchise. Ask the Browns how that worked for them in '99 and 2000. Ask the Bengals, Texans, Niners, Raiders, Dolphins how that all worked out for them.

I'm ready to have a team show some improvement this year, and get over the damn hump next year with the core group we have now, and whatever cards we are dealt in the 2014 draft.

It's not a matter of having higher draft picks, it's a matter of drafting better with the picks you're given.

  5. Hamstring injuries can be lingering, so I wouldn't be surprised if he sat for at least a couple weeks.

These and groin injuries, which Stevie is also familiar with, vary in severity. Worst case scenario is that Johnson sits through September, but based on Astobot's comment, it seems like he'll probably be available for duty in the opener. Not worried about it until I hear worsening news.

  6. Perhaps this is making a big deal out of nothing, and if it is then please call me out, but the most unnerving part about this is having to find a new holder for Lindell. I can't think of a moment where Lindell and Moorman didn't execute the hold perfectly, even in lousy conditions. No doubt they had a great chemistry together that can only develop through several years of working together day in and day out.

I'm sure the staff knows best, but I'm really bummed out about this. Moorman was one of the few guys in the last decade that I hoped would be a lifetime Bill. Thanks for the years of good punting, Brian.
