im honestly not trying to be a complete richard, it just gets old. I think there is a middle ground between entertaining yourself and overkill - but the click bait titles. There was a time when threads were based in insight. The random specualtion stuff was Facebook conversations where someone posted every random thought that popped in their head in Bills groups and theyd kinda 'host' the discussion.... it was terrible. This boad was SSSOO much better. Your topics could just as easily have been placed in ongoing threads. You make the news ones with misleading titles bc you feel your thoughts or ideas are better than others who contribute in existing convos.

If you insist on using the board this way, can you at least keep it all in one thread instead of multiple per day?  When '26' would start multiple threads per day they were news related with good articles or twitter news. These are just random thoughts w click bait titles

I understand your point.  But it seems there is limited actual news now.  I was simply trying to get feedback on moves in the future.  I have generated feedback on comparable posted topics.  Each new topic I generated has nothing to do with what is currently posted.

Speculation is one of the things that keeps media in business.  How long have CNN and MSNBC  run the Trump Russia and the 2016 topic going using some news, lots of speculation and looking to solicit viewers.

These are not just random thoughts.  It's speculation and solicits interest and feedback which is the objective of media in today's marketplace.

This is the 3rd thread on the 1st page that has zero substance. Its Facebook stuff. All 3 thought could have been combined in one thread and maybe it would be worth a click. There was litteral ACTUAL news there...-like inside info that provided information of relavance. This is just rambling..

The title is posed as a question.  The body explains a potential trade giving clarity of:

    with whom

    why its possible

    how it could be done

positions to target that fit BPA in position of need

    What is a "Facebook topic"

I'm sure others would be interested in your logic

Can someone please explain to this guy what exactly is "new thread worthy"??

    Please???

Or just pick a thread and update it with todays "new idea" and update the post in the title if u care that much. Not a single one has been worthy to warrant its own thread and now they pop up quite often. If it dies bc there arent enough eyes, that shld tell ya something.

If the goal is just to keep trying until one is worthy, please spare us - or ill pretend this is the one if youd like!

I'm a bit confused, you write such a glowing response to "David Cully going to the Ravens" post, like if anyone cares about a guy no longer with the Bills.  But you find fault with a Bills related topic that's getting interest.

Guess maybe I should see where Crossman or Castillo end up and do a topic on that.  Would that get positive probs from you?

  4. Looking at teams who may be interested in getting additional picks I found Seattle who has only 4 picks in this draft.

The Seahawks pick is at 21, the draft value chart has that pick valued at 800 points.  The Bills could offer the 2nd, 3rd and 1st 4th, total value 800 points.

Bills would have 2 firsts, nothing in day 2, but would have 6 picks, 4th, two 5th's, a 6th and two 7th's.

My thought is a DT and TE in round 1, a RB in round 4, then BPA for the rest.

Do you think the Pats will address any perceived weakness with their 12 draft picks, 6 of which are in the first round, and with some remaining free agents? I doubt they'll just ignore their roster til training camp.

Pats have 8 million in cap space with their 9 million draft allocation, they have 12 picks, one in the first, 2 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd.  Yes, they will add to their roster, but the Bills have added strongly in FA and have 3 times the Patriots salary cap space with 10 picks.  The Bills have their QB and the Patriots need to spend a high pick on a replacement for Brady.  We also 3 picks in the first three rounds and the possibility of a trade down to pick up another 2nd day pick.

I think the Bills have a very comparable roster to the Patriots better in some areas, even in a few, lesser in others, but very comparable.

  6. Position by position bills vs patriots

    QB - Huge advantage Patriots

    RB -  Close to even

    OL -  Bills slight advantage

    WR - Bills

    TE -  Bills slight advantage

PK - Bills currently until Gostowski resigns

    P  -  Patriots

    ST - Patriots

    DL - Bills

    LB - Patriots

    CB - Patriots

    S.  - Even

It has almost nothing to do with the skill positions. As long as you have a certain level of competence at WR and TE, the QB can set you apart or make you average to below. Until Brady goes or declines dramatically , none of the other stuff will matter all that much .

Look at the current Patriots roster at TE and WR, is that a competent group

This^ Gronk was really a shell of his former self, and he frequently missed games the past few seasons. It definitely hurts the Pats, but he was no longer a reliable elite TE. That offense is more about controlling the line of scrimmage in the run game with Edelman moving the chains.

Yes with Gronk doing amazing blocking, who's gonna do that now

  8. The key point in the topic is if the Bills were considering a TE in round 2, the three best will probably be drafted by pick 40.

The FA TE market is now dried up.  There is quality talent left at DT such as Suh and Wilkerson and the X factor of Gerald McCoy in Tampa possibly available in trade due to cap concerns.

To me, it seems that the Bills may alter their plans in the balance of pre-draft FA and may affect their draft plans.

  9. With Gronk retiring and other major free agent loses the Patriots will be much weaker and vulnerable next year.

I reviewed Sportac NFL link and looked at the current TE and WR on the roster and it's worse then what the Bills had last year.

Of course the Patriots do have 6 picks in the first three rounds to rebuild, but also have serious holes to fill.

One Bills point in this is that we can assume Hockenson, Fant and Irv Smith will all be drafted in Round 1.  I believe this may alter the approach in the rest of free agency and in the draft.  My feeling is that the Bills make a move at DT now in FA, maybe even offering a pick for TB 3 technique tackle Gerald McCoy.  With the Bucs in dire cap status, they could move him to the Bills and pick up 13 million in cap space.  That would free up the Bills to draft a TE in round 1, if a trade down is viable select Hockenson (all purpose) or Fant (major downfield threat) with their first round pick and then BPA thru the rest of the draft.

I tend to think he’d be a top 2 pick and prob first QB? If that is “true” then we have a guy that typically would be top of draft and now with one year of NFL experience. Not a bad place to be at the position.

Based on measureables he would grade out higher then Murray, Haskins or Lock.

Would he grade higher the Q Williams, Nick Bosa, Devin White and Josh Allen (LB), probably not, but there is a QB premimium.

So based on this years draft Arizona would pass as they have Rosen, and Murray is the choice of Kingsberry, 49ers have Jimmy G,  so no with him, Jets have Darnold so no, Raiders got Carr, so maybe, Bucs have Winston and QB is Winston, Giants possibly, Jacksonville has Foles, so probably not and Lions have Stafford.

So, Bills probably get Haskins this year.

The Bills are signing FA's at a record pace for this franchise.

Who would be the target trading back into the bottom of the first round?

Plus these signings mean they really can't keep all 10 picks.

    What do you think?

I think trade back into the bottom of the first round it would require either

2019 2nd and 2020 1st, could get Maybe as high as Minnesota, Tennessee or Seattle

    or

trade both 4th round picks for a 3rd, then trade higher 3rd and 2nd to get back to late 1st possibly Oakland, Philadelphia or KC.

If the Bills do trade up I could see them taking TJ Hockenson at 9 and get the Notre Dame DT Tillery at the back end of the 1st and get a future RB in round 3.

lol TJ Hockenson isn’t going top 10. I’d even be surprised if he went in the top half of the first round.

Im also assuming you had a typo and meant Josh Allen going to Oakland?

if that’s how the top 8 go then I go with Oliver.

Yes, correct, Josh Allen to Oakland

Let's assume George Kittle or Travis Kelce were available with the 9th pick.  My guess is you would sprint to the podium with the card.

My guess is a Kelce/Gronk mix, great in-line blocker, 55 catch, 750 yard, 8 TD guy for 10 years.  Is that worth the 9th pick in the draft?

First tell me who the first 8 picks were.

    Ok here's my best guess:

    Arizona - Kyler Murray

    San Francisco. -  Nick Bosa

    NY Jets - Quinnen Williams

    Oakland - Josh White

Washington - Dwayne Haskins - Trade up with Tampa

    NY Giants - Jonah Williams

    Jacksonville - Jawaan Taylor

    Detroit - Devin White

    Buffalo -

I'd look first for trade down, if nothing comes up, I'd draft TJ Hockenson

  14. I've ready that the Brandon Beane believes in using free agency and the draft for BPA.  If all goes right in the draft we hope that the BPA is at a point of positional need.  With that said, here are my choices for BPA who may be available in the draft at positional need based on the current roster:

    3 Technique DT

    Ed Oliver

    Jerry Tillery

    Edge Pass Rusher

    Montez Sweat

    Brian Burns

    LB

    Devin White

    Devin Bush

    TE

    TJ Hockenson

    Noah Fant

    Irv Smith

    RB

    Josh Jacobs

    Derrelle Henderson

    WR

    DK Metcalf

    Hakeem Butler

    Parris Campbell

The first player in each group could be their with the 9th pick, 2nd or 3rd could be a candidate in a trade down or a pick in a later round.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

Pick the best ones and cut the rest maybe?

Actually, he’ll probably trade the bum ones for 5th round picks.

The NFL has a huge gap in even average offensive lineman, the Bills have added depth and with cap space they can hold onto guys like Ducasse and Bodine until after the draft and see if they can trade them for late round picks in 2020.

its all about building depth at as many positions as financially possible.

You’re giving me one. Did you read the comment I quoted? Does any of it sink in?

    I'm being rhetorical, of course..

The post drew interest and comments isn't that enough.  I thought the point of this board was to post topics that draw interest.  It's the off-season, free agency is right around the corner, the draft to soon follow.  It's logical to post topics relating to roster additions until the free agency window opens.

Obviously you don't agree.  So take my posts like television programming, if you don't like it, don't watch it, or in this case, don't read it.

How does that sound to you.
