  1. I've officially spent WAY too much time on this, but bear with me.

It's a matter of perspective. You would have to move the ball (thrown location) down to the same height as the caught location and compare the distance to the line.

(Ignore the actual dimensions. They are measured in the program and the images are not scaled correct, but it still show how close and possibly forward the pass was.)

The video (On NFL.com) appears to show the ball moving back towards the line. It actually just moves further down than forward.

    Obviously I can't post pictures.

  2. even if this was true (it has since been refuted by PFT) or it did indeed come to fruition, the word in TC was Karlos played himself into the #2 spot. I do not think it would have been Fred starting in place of McCoy. He isn't fast enough, bottom line. I love him but he's not a workhorse RB anymore.

Agreed, he's not a workhorse RB anymore, but will Karlos play week 1?

  3.

What did he want to hear, exactly? Fred seems like a smart guy. I'm sure he can figure this out without Whaley telling him there's no room for an 34-year-old RB/locker room cheerleader when other, more important, players need to be extended. Common man.

Calling Fred Jackson a "locker room cheerleader" is about the dumbest thing I've read about this whole ordeal.

I think you should take this opportunity to recant your statement.

    C'mon man. (Not common man.)

  4. Just got word this morning- coaches' minds already made up, starting Manuel is a charade mostly to mess with Indianapolis and/or to see if he has any trade value. He has no chance of starting on opening day. Take it to the bank. According to a pretty credible source, I'm pretty sure I know who is starting. Carry on.

Dude..... you can't leave us hanging like that.......not cool.....

    I concur.

  5. Great move by Rex ..

2 -This indicates to me that Rex knows the pulse of the locker room and he knows that whoever wins the QB job needs to have the appearance of winning it fair and square so there can be no bitching or side taking once the big decision is made.

    Excellent point.

Any chance it will help with the fans bitching or taking sides once the big decision is made?

My biggest fear is that we have this QB debate ALL season long. No matter who starts.

  6. Imagine you own two cars. One is an Oldsmobile station wagon:

Boring, but reliable. It will get you there safely with few surprises.

The other is a Ferrari Countach F40:

A car that will give you a thrill a minute, might not be the most reliable and you could certainly get into a lot of trouble with. But some incredible things might happen, too.

That is what the Bills have in Cassel and Taylor. Are you really going to leave the Ferrari in the garage?

I agree with you. And not that it really matters, but that's a Ferrari F40. (Lamborghini Countach)

  7.

Ha, now when a QB completes a pass, it's the OC?

I certainly understand why the coaches would want the most consistent QB...it's safe. The thing is, the safe, consistent guy, often isn't the guy that can inspire their teammates, and create a belief that they can comeback from a 2 score deficit, or 2-minute drives... pressure situations.

Cassel better be the most consistent, because they will be inching down the field against a stacked box, and will need to convert on 3rd down more often. It's going to take lots of good game management decisions from the coaching staff to keep things going if they dink and dunk...not a Rex Ryan strength (Roman will be running the offense, but the HC gets involved).

I'm not going to claim that EJM or TT are great inspirational leaders, but I think they are growing. Cassel's established track record is, well....meh. I dread watching them try to come back from a two score deficit. Cassel just doesn't have the the firepower to do that "consistently".

No, my point is the OC set up an easy read and pass for the QB on a big play and that shouldn't be overlooked. I just don't believe these 3 QB's would have the same amount of success we've been seeing if we still had Marrone and Hackett.

And for the record, I think TT gives us the best chance to win and he should be the starter week 1. He is simply more dynamic and creates more problems for opposing defenses.
