From all the quotes and hate from that article, have to imagine it can't feel great to have so many former players and coaches possibly taking shots at him, I mean it's always seemed to me like he's really cared about his players and coaches. This whole thing is weird.

See as a guy who thinks McDermott should be gone at the end of this season I never once questioned his desire for all his players to be successful. That quality is admirable and 100 percent true. It’s just this overwhelming feeling I have when we play big games or are deep in the fourth quarter that we are going to lose which is the exact feeling that McDermott has obviously and has shown time and time again . That means that he should not be a head coach of a football team that needs him to coach to win and not coach to not lose.

    We can beat the Chiefs.

If we play like we have the last two weeks, even with the few mistakes, we WILL beat the Chiefs (they are not as good as Philly). They are in the same funk as we were most of the season. They have lost 3 of their last 5.

The season is on the line here. Win and we are only 1 game back of the Chiefs (who would have thought?). The Jags play the Browns this week (go Jags). Broncos play the Chargers (go Chargers). Colts play the Bengals (go Bengals).

I also want to know what NFL schedule maker thought it would be funny to make this the 13th game of the season. Real funny.

    Go Bills.

The chiefs can be had. It starts now. The stretch playoff run....LFG!!!!!

I have an odd feeling we'll make it in but if we don't there's a whole ton of positives to be taken from this season.

    - Kincaid is a true stud, he will be a game breaker for our offense next year no doubt.

    - Bernard is a stud as well and a playmaker that this defense needs, he's better than Edmunds.

-Cook is a baller and will be even better next season!!

-Spencer Brown is a legit RT for the future!!

-Cyrus will be a monster next year as he was better than average this year as a rook.

-Shakir looks to be a playmaker and will be even better next year out of the slot(Beasely replacement finally).

-We now know Gabe is not it and can cut bate and draft a real #2/ eventual Diggs replacement.

-Ed Oliver is worth the contract and has finally got it all together.

There's a lot of positives that have come out of this frustrating season imo. I'm a glass half full guy!! Hats off to Beanes drafting!!! We're going to be okay we have a lot of young talent at our nucleus now 🦬

Here is today's "participation ribbon" mentality perfectly encapsulated in obvious positives but positives that make what should be considered an utter failure to reach the post season " warm and fuzzy and positive"

I felt pretty bad this morning after 4 hours sleep (the game was from 10:30pm-2am in my time zone). So I did some calcuating of playoff odds as a distration, using the NYT simulator.

If we win out: >99% chance of making it in

If we lose to KC only: 51%

If we lose to Cowboys: 63%

If we lose to the Chargers: 44%

If we lose to the Pats: 51%

If we lose to Miami: 45%

If we lose twice, no matter who: <10% chance

    So there you have it.

Unfortunately, I am pessimistic about our chances to win close games, in the playoffs. In my opinion, you can pin this whole season (as well as the Houston playoff game and the 13 seconds game and a bunch of other games) on McD's soft defenses and bad strategy in crunchtime. I know all teams feel they should win more, but with the Buffalo Bills it is statistically indisputable. Our team loses far more than it should, given our offensive and defensive performance. I would love to see a stat that shows how much better or worse a team performs than it's statistical rankings. You could call it the Coaching Coefficient. My guess is McD would be pretty low.

I am bummed because no matter how hard we play (and these guys are playing hard, especially guys like Bernard or Floyd who are still not jaded by our past) we are hamstrung by this. It's like a dark cloud hanging over the team. And until that cloud is gone, it's hard to really enjoy this great bunch of players.

We need to win out and handle our business. If Miami losses against Dallas and  Baltimore ( very realistic) that means last week of the season would be for the division. Wouldn’t that be a peach.

Absolutely right on.  No playoffs and he needs to go.  Hit the nail on the head it is all about Allen and Pegula needs to understand that.

Then there's just terrible in game decisions and a Defensive minded coach, whose defense can't make the stop when counted on.

How can it be acceptable in any universe that McDermott doesn’t get canned if they miss the playoffs. This is a playoff roster and Pegula has got to hold his coach accountable. If not the precedent is set for it to be ok with not getting results. That will trickle down through the whole team all the way to the waterboys. But then again this world with its narratives doesn’t function on reality anymore so who knows.

McDermott has run his course, and unless we make a Super Bowl run, his time here is over. But I wanted to remember our good times in the last few years, so let’s talk about some critical victories since we won’t see anymore in his tenure.

    1) Cowboys Thanksgiving game (We arrived)

    2) Perfect game vs Patriots WC (Dominating Belichick in a playoff game)

    3) Indy playoff game (first playoff victory in forever)

4)Clinching the Division against Denver (the division was finally ours

@Steelers on SNF, where we used Renagade against them to clinch a playoff spot, deserves an honorable mention.

I know a lot of people here don't think we can win out...but IMHO it is a real possibility if the offense keeps playing this way under Brady rest of year.  But let's skip the debate on whether we will or won't and talk briefly about what happens IF we do.  Because this team has already done this in 2021, and I started a thread then 6 games out saying I thought the Bills would run the table and win out, which they did.  And I again think they can this year if we can maintain our offensive momentum.

BUT - Not a thread to debate whether we will or won't - It's about what happens with our Coaching decisions if say we HYPOTHETICALLY do.  I think its safe to say McD is likely fired if we miss the playoffs while having a healthy Josh and Diggs all season.  But if we go on a run, it creates some interesting coaching decisions/scenarios.

Let us hypothetically assume we go 11-6, make the playoffs and say reach the AFCCG - What happens with McD and Brady?  Right now, McD is clearly on the hot seat and I think will probably be fired if we miss the playoffs.  But if this team gets into the playoffs, the AFC is lacking in tough opponents right now and Bills could certainly make some noise and win a couple games.  Still in 2021, our schedule was not as hard as what we have remaining now, so it won't be easy...but it is certainly possible.

Think about these questions if this played out this way:

    • Does McD get fired or retained if we end up in the AFCCG again but don't advance?
    • Would Brady be a hot HC candidate and we lose him to another team if the offense rolls for the rest of the season and post season?
    • Would McD still get fired even if we reach AFCCG but lose again?
    • If McD is fired, would Brady be a serious consideration to replace him if the offense keeps rolling?
    • If McD saved his job, would he be HC/DC again next year or just HC and hire an DC?

Posted some poll questions addressing these scenarios :)

Not the offense I'm worried about. they will produce. It's the defense playing good until the 4th quarter and then The Clapmaster calls deep prevent until the other team catches up and then they collapse and he sites Hindsight.

    Hi guys.

Honestly, for you, what the odds that we’ll finally start with a new (young maybe) HC and a new DC (i’ll keep Brady as OC for what i saw till now if he keeps it going) if we miss the playoffs like probably will be ?

I say almost zero, because McClappy is humble, honest, a good guy and on and on and on… McClappy and his trust the process.

Why can’t we have someone young and offensive minded like LaFleur, Tomlin, McVay ?

    Ma Che Cazzo dici?

fyi Tomlin and MCClappy are the same age.

and y’all want to fire the head coach who’s has had nothing but 10+ win seasons for like 4 years in a row now?

It took the Eagles kicking a SIXTY YARD FG IN THE RAIN to get to OT. The Eagles had a better DVOA than the Bills.

There was no reasonable analysis that had the Bills winning this football game before the snap.

Literally demanding the HC be fired for EXCEEDING expectations

    Nah this ain’t it

Helen Keller could of got 10 wins a year with this roster. The point is his defense has lost 8 games in the last season and a half in the last of the 4th quarter. His defense is not prepared for to close out games. He calls the wrong Defense at the wrong time and gets burned. His whole point was I’ll take over the defense because I can do a better job than any other Defensive Coordinator candidate.

    how’s that working out ?

    what an absolute clown show

100 percent. If anything he should’ve known his defense couldn’t close out a game to save their lives and use the 20 seconds and a time out to get in fg range. He just coaches scared and it translate into his players attitude and play.
The culture has got to change.

they won’t win crap like this. Ever.

What happened to us today has never happened before in the modern NFL.

This is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard and I wish that someone in the press conference  would have some balls and read that to McDumass and see what kind of unemotional stoic garbage pours out of his mouth that completely dodges the point. Enough already. Joe Bradys offense moved the ball and put the team in position to win. This loss is squarely on the defense and has been for a while now. When is he going to be held accountable for blowing the end of games?

And the kneel down with 20 seconds and a time out??? Would it of killed you to try and get in field goal range and win it??  Instead lets let the offense give us the lead in OT and then shyt the bed and lose AGAIN!!!!!
