I know we all want to address the WR position but I still think the main priority for the team going forward is to re-establish the defensive front around Oliver. To beat Mahomes, You gotta affect the QB. It’s not the sexy pick but you have to keep investing in the D line. We just watched Mahomes win another SB and this time he didn’t have a single 1,000 yrd WR…

3 times vs. Mahomes in the playoffs and I don’t think we have one sack against him. I definitely think we need to add a WR but I don’t believe we should be putting all our chips in that basket. I think Brady is going to have to develop an offense that can get more out of the passing game and Diggs.

I would love a better D-Line, but Chiefs also did just beat a top 3 talent D-Line team in the Superbowl... Scoring more is still the name of the game in my opinion.

Pats can't win on merit. The refs will make a bunch of momentum changing calls as usual, hoping to derail Jags drives or prolong Pats drives. Then there is the one call that really helps the Pats and leads to points directly before the half or early third quarter.

If the Pats take advantage, then it leads to a 2 score lead and eventually the Pats win. If they don't and the opposing team is in position to tie it or go ahead, then there is usually a holding call or some other momentum killer that gives the Pats the ball back.

This is where the will of the opposing team usually breaks and the Pats march down the field with the aid of a PI, defensive holding or roughing the passer call. A crucial 3rd down is converted with the aid of this penalty and Brady marches it in.   If for any reason the opposing team comes back again and somehow makes it close, then we get the crucial OMG WTF was that call that seals a Pats victory.

It is so scripted, watching every Pats game is the same.  An opposing team really has to totally outplay the Pats and the refs to win.

I put the betting line at +10 (points affected by adding to Pats or subtracting from opponents) for each game. So you have to beat them by 2+ scores to win.

Nailed it word for word.. 87 yard drive 47 yards of penalties right before half.

  3. The league is full for this year.

I have run this for 3 years now and I have to turn people away every year because there aren't enough spots and I try my best to allow those who were in it previously first dibs. There is definitely enough interest for a different league to form if someone is willing to run it.

Dang!! I didn't see this until now!! I'm the one who finished 10th with the second most points haha

  4. I know everyone likes to be in complain mode here, but whether theye run a huddle or no huddle offense it will not really change the pace of this offense. If you look at the play clock they are snapping the ball with about 15 seconds remaining. That is not really fast paced up tempo, the only problem with what is happening is the 3 and outs. Whether you are in a huddle or not if you can't move the chains your going have awful time of possession.

  5. I was watching NFL Am this morning and they were discussing QB concerns for a few teams (Jets, Jags, Raiders) and Buffalo got a nice little shout out from Kriegel. They brought up Buffalo and Eric Davis says, "It's not a concern for the Bills because you can expect a few bumps and bruises from a rookie QB" and Kriegel responds with "I would take EJ Manuel over any quarterback we just mentioned."

Good to see EJ getting a little love when all I have heard about for the past month on NFL or ESPN is, will RGIII be healthy enough to start? Will Geno Start the season? and Will Tim Tebow make the Patriots?

  6. As noted in an earlier thread, there was a money league run through Yahoo consisting of members of this board that went very well. Last year's commissioner is unable to do it this year, so I will be running this league. If you are interested in participating, read the league description below, click the link at the bottom and register your team. Once registered, follow the directions on the league homepage to Paypal me your entry fee and reserve your spot. The league is open to any board member in good standing.

This is a 12 team, Head to Head, Live standard draft league.

The entry fee is 25$. Payment must be made to me via Paypal prior to the draft in order to reserve your spot in the league. Draft is currently set for Sunday, Sept 1 but that can be changed if need be.

    There will be payouts for 1st ($175), 2nd (80$) and 3rd (45$).

6 teams make the playoffs (weeks 14/15/16)

Roster positions are as follows: QB, QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R/T, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

This is a 2 quarterback league.

Standard yahoo scoring with 1 point bonuses for 40+ yard plays. Changes to scoring format could be considered as long as the majority of the league is in favor of it

I was in it last year and wondering if I can make a suggestion on the rosters? Rather then the two starting quarterbacks, make it like last year with only the one and then a QB/WR/RB/TE option bc it can be a little rough with 12 teams and filling the rosters

  7.

Now, I LOVE our draft, but.....

    71. St. Louis - TJ McDonald S USC (from Buffalo)

    72. NYJ - Brian Winters OG Kent St.

    73. TB - Mike Glennon QB NC State

    74. Dallas - Terrance Williams WR Baylor

    75. NO - Terron Armstead OT Ark Pine Bluff

    76. SD - Keenan Allen WR Cal

    77. Miami - Dallas Thomas OG Tennessee

    78. Buffalo - Marquise Goodwin WR Texas (from St. Louis)

True but I believe that besides for all the off the field stuff Da'Rick Rodgers is just as good as Allen on the field, and he is not coming off a major injury. Personally I believe Winters was the bigger loss bc of our guard situation.
