  1. Funny but sad stuff:

"McCargo is a bust who has never started a game; Whitner is a journeyman-level performer, McKelvin and Posluszny are perennially injured. Meanwhile, Leonhard, Greer and Haggan are playing like stars for the Jets, Saints and Broncos, while Bannan is often on the field for the Ravens. Had Buffalo simply kept Leonhard, Greer, Haggan and Bannan and used the draft choices and money on other players, it might now be a real team. Time to recognize that Buffalo general manager Russ Brandon is Matt Millen: The Sequel."

Buffalo is a talent Black Hole. Once they escape the gravitational pull of the Bills, players reach their full potential. The Bills organization needs a complete makeover. It can't be coincidence that myriads of players progress substantially once they escape the grips of this coaching staff.

  2. Hahaha, laughing as I type this, who is going to be the first to say they actually like Schopp?

listening to this show actually hurts my ears.

I like Mike Shopp, his wife plays tennis with my daughter. He holds her sweater whenever he is at a match. He does seem to hold a bit of resentment though. I played him in table tennis once and whooped his butt. He threw down the paddle and said " you think I care, Im a Buffalo radio celebrity and I can crush you in hillbilly horseshoes." I was stunned.

  3. Vandalism or not... he ruined the efforts of his teammates.

    More here...

It may have been reckless, but Leodis is a Bill. How excited were you as a lifelong Bill's fan to be on the edge of defeating the so called best team in football on Monday Night in front of the entire nation. Leodis must have felt that too. We won't boo Leodis, we will show him love, because that's how we roll in Buffalo. Aren't we the nicest people in the country?

  4. Seems like every year all the Bills fans I know, at least the last decade, start talking about who the Bills could possibly bring in next year to replace the current dud.

Names like Cowher and Parcells and others of that caliber are always coming up in these discussions. A lot of times, especially with Cowher, it seems like a great idea and exactly what the Bills need to seriously make an attempt at turning this thing around. But based on Wilson's track record it seems he would never be willing to part with the money it would take to bring someone high profile like that in to coach the team.

My question is does anyone out there really think it is possible that maybe in his late age he will be open to dropping some serious coin on an awesome coach?

Or are we always going to have a rookie head coach or middle tier guy, and if so who would that be?

  5. You might have a point if about 5399 or so of those posts (over 8 years, mind you) weren't useless drivel or feeble attempts at sarcasm.

I'm a huge fan, but seriously, nitpicking sound bites of athletes is hardly the stuff of insightful analysis. Just my opinion.

    You two ladies wanna room

  6. Not sure if this was on SC or ESPNnews last night (or both). They were asking TO about comparing his current situation to Dallas and he said that he had some good experiences in Dallas but that "I'm with Buffalo right now and so and focusing on that." (emphasis added)

Most players would have said "Now I'm a Buffalo Bill" or something more definite and proud. For some reason the "right now" kinda bothered me--he seems to already be looking to his future somewhere else. I replayed it several times to make sure I got his inflection correctly and each time it bothered me more.

I know we all know that he knows that we know that that is what he is thinking, etc, but it still bugged me he said like that. Hopefully his play will continue to excel as it did briefly last night regardless of whether he already considers us a one and done no matter what.

Here's five bucks, go down to the self-esteem store and buy some

  7. Not a big deal. So the Bills will lose 45-17 instead of 38-17. They're just out of the Patriots' league.

I live in New England and can vouch for all of the douchebags that live here, they're in denial. Belicheat cheated, Papi cheated, Manny cheated, Bay hates them, and the Yankees will always be their master. I wish Smerlas would realize how much they underappreciate him and go to work for WGR. Gonna have some clam chowder now.

  8. I think you answered your own question. ESPN's refusal to report on civil cases has been long-standing, apparently. McIntyre's was a criminal case. I can see both sides of the argument.

I seem to remember ESPN reporting on Randy Moss' civil case. This policy did NOT exist in the past. The bottom line is they are protecting their project child in Ben. They suck.

  9. I always defend Schopp even though most people think he's a dick. However, I couldn't believe what I heard him say this afternoon on the air. This isn't an exact quote, but it's close. He and Parker were discussing the players the Bills drafted, and Parker was saying how he thinks the Bills got good players and were hoping they turn into wins. Schopp then said something along the lines of, "I could care less what happens on Sundays or how the Bills do, I moved here, this is just a job. The only reason I follow them is because it is my job to talk about them."

I realize that he didn't grow up here, or ever rooted for the Bills, and he certainly shouldn't have to be a fan of the team just because he's on the air, but do you have to make it sound like you're completely disgusted with the city and team, and you can't wait to get the hell out of here as soon as the possibility presents itself? Jeez. Even if you actually think that, why in the world would you say that on air to the people that listen to your show? To some of the most passionate fans in the NFL? My God. What does this say about the network in general, that these are the individuals they hire for their shows?

Mike--sorry that you feel forced into the position where you have to talk about the Bills. It is such a shame that you HAVE to follow this shiity franchise and live in the area. Poor you.

Is there really no one else out there that WGR could find, that they have to hire a guy who obviously doesn't want to be here? His attitude towards the team, the area, and the fans is clearly apparent.

I remember a few years ago Shopp was disgusted with hockey. It was during the playoffs and he made a comment that he hadn't been watching any of the games. He's so cool. So I sent him an email and said, "hey, isn't it your job to watch the games and discuss them and know what you're talking about?" Why would this guy choose this profession? I live in the Boston area, and listen to one show, Dale and Holly, and these guys know their teams. All four of them, and college. Anyways, the following day after I sent the Shopp the email he said he was going to start watching the playoffs. Glad I could help him get back on track. Guess he fell of the wagon.

  10. Since J.P. Lossman has not gotten much attention from the other teams in the NFL.What are the chances that he ends up in the new United Football League that starts in October and do you think he would be a good fit or bad fit there?

That scenario, however delightful it may be, will not come to fruition. JP has signed with the Lion. The Lion being MGM Studios. He has recently been the understudy to Scooby Hipsack, famous Hollywood double, in order to prepare for the more daring and dangerous scenes in Adam Sandler's upcoming sequel, You Don't Mess With the Zohan II.

  11. No.

Yeah, we have so many players on this team with that burning desire to win. Guys who would play hurt in a Superbowl and risk further permanent injury. Guys that are dedicated to the game. Guys like Peters. He may be caustic, but it just may be because he expects the same of his teammates. We wouldn't want that.
