  1. With all due respect, the worst thing that could happen now is that we make the playoffs. That would just make the ostriches stick their heads in the sand at OBD. I sure hope to God that Jauron's extension isn't signed.

You're telling me you wouldn't take a playoff appearance after 9 years? Are you serious? You wouldn't because your logic appears to be that you don't want to be embrassed? Only 1 team wins it all my friend, give me an end to this drought.

  2. Olivier, you have a lot of fortitude to be entertained by a gut wrenching loss like this.It may be masochistic, but I give you props for your pure passion for the sport.

Amen! It's nights like tonight that make me happy to be a fan. We're not going to win them all, but at least this game we played an entertaining game. This was much more easier to swallow than last weeks debacle.

We can't overact and slit our wrists and beat our dogs can we? The sun will shine tomorrow and we will fight again.

There's an outside chance 5 and 1 down the stretch get's us into the playoffs. I think we'll end 6-10, but 10-6 would be nice and while we hope for the best, we prepare & expect the worse. All we need is to rip off another 4 game winning streak and who knows?

  3. Your playoff prediction isn't looking so good.

Like I said 6-10. Only K.C. the only game I thought we'd win from here out is looking more and more doubtful. We probably will get the 10th to 16th pick in the '09 Draft.

  4. It's obvious Trent Edwards played terrible in the first quarter. What was most promosing was the Bills use of the running backs in the passing game, and I attribute that to Trent Edwards. I am a JP Losman guy, but I liked the way TE hung in there and gave what the Browns gave him. We finally ran the ball with authority and our short passing game was an extension of it.

Lindell, Edwards, and Fred Jackson should not be hung out to dry for this loss.

    Who to blame........?

The coaches - period. Last week I blamed Edwards and called for Losman to start. I don't think Losman keeps us in the game tonight, with Cleveland taking away Lee Evans who is our only legit receiver. Yes JP would have hit more deep passes, but we would have incurred more 3 and outs as he rarely looks to check down and is inaccurate at best in the short game.

The coaches i.e. Turk Schonert & Dick Jauron know that our opponents are going to double team Lee Evans. Going with that logic than the underneath passes to Jackson & Lynch will be open. I applaud Edwards for not pressing and throwing a 4th pick. The windows were tight, no doubt, Edwards needs to let the ball rip. As Jaworski pointed out "Edwards needs to throw into space and not wait for the receiver to get open." Edwards can improve in this area.

Let's blame this game on Schonert & Jauron for not calling on more runs & short passes to begin with. What we got early tonight was an offense as that does not have legitimate second option at the receiver position and is in denial because they play as if they have one. Hardy is a WIP & Roscoe is no more than a punt returner. Johnson a 7th round rookie is more dangerous and that's scary. Josh Reed is surely missed.

But this game comes down to the coaching & it's a sad day when Romeo Crennel outcoaches you. Is it a shock that coaches as indecisive as Juaron have a QB as indecisive as Edwards.

  5. other then the oline the situations are about the same. That's pretty questionable, with the apparant lack of a center, and rg. The horrible play of the interior in general. Jp Switched coaches. Edwards switched coordinators. Yes getting a whole new coaching staff is a complete restart from just switching coordinators. The talent level on offense is vastly the same. Evans, Josh Reed, roscoe parrish. The te situtation is not better at all. I dont know where you got that one from. Not much else. The difference from mcgahee-lynch production wise is almost nill. I never once called Edwards "god",or anything close. Never said JP "Blows" either . A poor mans Jake Plummer yes. "Blows" that's stretching it.

Is Edwards struggling - yes, is he making costly mistakes - yes, is his confidence waning - yes.

JP is playing out the final year of his rookie contract. He has nothing to lose, and everything to gain. He's not Brett Favre, nor is he Jake Plumber, he's JP Losman.

Most Bills fans don't like him for artificial reasons; I've heard he talks like a black guy and is 1/2 Mexican. He may not have as high of an "IQ" as Edwards, nor possess his mastery of the "possession game", but he did have a better season as a 25 year old if Edwards continues his downward spiral.

Why not give JP one last opportunity?

  6. I'm gonna defend myself, as I don't call myself flea. I've been to all the big games in the early 90's I watch all the games brother.

The issue is we need a QB who plays with emotion like Kelly or Favre. Edwards does nothing for us, the defensive coordinators around this league have figured him out.

At least Losman threw TDS! Trent Edwards in 2008, 7 TDS in 8 complete games. That's terrible.

  7. Just wondering if that record would be enough to do it?

10-6 will do the trick, but this team does not appear capable of going 5-2 down the stretch. Vegas would put better odds on us finishing 2-5 than 5-2.

I think we can win any of our next 3 games if we bring our B game, but I just don't see 10-6. Imagine we're 9-6 heading into the final game against New England - it's highly unlikely we'd prevail.

  8. How many passes has he ever hit on the full run on a slant or on a crossing pattern? It was almost impossible for him. JP was great when receivers ran a pattern and stopped or it was a deep out. That's how he played and passed. JP doesn't have the mental skills to play in this league. No stat can tell me what I've seen was a random anomaly. There is a reason no team was interested in JP at the trade deadline, and it's not because of his physical abilities.

The guy just takes dumb sacks and doesn't get rid of the ball. He has one of the best deep balls I've seen, but the guy can't throw a crossing pattern and hit the guy in stride to save his life. That's not a pathetic argument, it's reality. There is a reason why he had so many games under 200 yards passing, and he's easy to game plan for.

If you are sick of conversing show me where I'm wrong. Instead you want to play the "you're too moronic to understand" card, which shows in your deep analysis of where others are missing the point.

Well this is just great you claim he couldn't hit slants or crosses. I'll give you that however the Bills chose to draft James Hardy a guy who couldn't run one of those patterns to save his life. Evans and Hardy possess the ability to stretch the field which favors JP's talents over TE's. We should have drafted DeShean Jackson, Eddie Royal or another "Roscoe" type if we wanted to look good on the underneath stuff. Wes Welker is great, but he doesn't win games my friends. You need a guy who can pluck jump balls out of the air and create space.

  9. so you can rip the opponent's helmet off like az did to m. robinson on the last play of the game and get away with it? isn't there a rule against crap like that?

If that is down by contact, than it must be re-written. What is this college football?

  10. What's your point? If it wasn't for Drew Bledsoe getting knocked hard out of bounds in 2001 we never would've heard about Brady.

Hahahaha. BS and you know it. Guys the bottom line is in a few years the Bills are gone. Repeat GONE. The time to win is now! Hindsight is 20/20 I know, however I'm talking about the future. You don't think JP Losman could beat the shite out of the next 3 teams?

  11. Wins are blank statements when discussing football?

Using stats in a sport that revolves around team concept. Little minute aspects is as blank as it gets. You know who never threw for a lot of tds? Steve McNair he was a pretty damn good quarterback. Kerry Collins hasn't thrown for many tds. The titans are 9-0. Matt Cassel not many td's. Patriots are 6-3. Football is not baseball. You can't judge a position strictly on fancy fanboy numbers. You have to take the whole game into account. Mark Brunell would you say once upon a time he was a good qb? Guy never threw for more then 20 tds in a season. I can play the stat game as well as anyone. It would be a waste of time to go thru the 06 season game by game, and point out Losman did not play as well as JP fans thought he did. I dont know if Edwards is the answer. I'm waiting until the end of next season before debating that. I'm pretty confident in saying JP Losman is not, never has been. Never will be.

JP Losman has more heart and physical talent than TE ever will. If it wasn't for a cheap Vince Wilfork hit to the knee last year TE wouldn't even be talked about. TE was an experiment, a 3rd rounder with 3rd round talent. Supposedly Bill Walsh said he'd be a good one according to Marv Levy. Let's give our first rounder one last shot, before it's too late. I guarantee ya'll one thing, he won't be afraid. If you were to compare JP Losman's stats to Eli Manning's in 2006 you'd be surprised.

  12. Trent has ruined this season with his brilliant consecutive trifecta of losing to the Dolphins, Jets and Patriots. Sorry and no offense pal, but you suck. He's clueless and needs to sit and watch Losman being given his final chance to resurrect his career as a Buffalo Bill.

These last three losses are so historically bad for this franchise that I don't think we here at TSW are even fully aware of the magnitude.

I know LABillsfan is going to give me flack and plenty of others here, but drastic times call for drastic measures. I think Trent has tossed every last bit of 5-1 cache he had with these last three abysmal games against the AFC East division. It's time to shake things up and put a QB in there that can actually get the ball to #83. If Losman fails, then give the ball to Hamden. I'm done with Edwards. You and your head coach can take a hike.

I'm with you brother. Bench Trent Edwards he's only in his second year and he has no game in cold weather with his small hands. At least JP will take some chances and be a gun slinger, I'm tired of ineffective pop gun offense.

  13. What do you guys think will be the Bills final record in 2008?

My bet is 6-10. Figure they'll need to go 5-2 in the last 7 just to finish 10-6 and have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. The next 3 games are huge, however I see Brady Quinn and Mike Singletary pulling out wins the way they're playing. So the way I see it the Bills will win 1 more game K.C. and finish 6-10.

  14. “After (Bills C Melvin) Fowler saw (Chargers NT) Jamal Williams putting (Patriots C Dan) Koppen five yards deep in the backfield, he did not want to play against San Diego. He wimped out. Fowler can’t anchor, which is a problem in that division. It looks like it’s going to be (Duke) Preston at center the rest of the way (for the Bills).”
