  1. Yes, Buffalo doesn't resemble an urban wasteland at all. "Southern Ontario" along with Rochester represents a large percentage of season ticket holders as well as many corporate sponsorships critical to the team's economic success. As I've stated before, while NF may not be the most ideal spot for a new stadium, it is much closer to this critical fan base you seem to think is unimportant. And the urban wasteland you referred to manages to attract over 25 million vistiors a year. I doubt that many are flocking to Buffalo for chicken wings. Yes, there are some rough parts here and there but it is certanily no worse than downtown Buffalo. The original post of this thread is about a lease renewal...the stadium business is ancilllary and not happeneing until ownership changes. They could build the stadium in the lake, keep it in OP, or downtown NF... as long as it keeps the Bills in WNY is the most important thing....for all of us. Stop the hating.
  2. It's not a myth that Jim Kelly is involved somehow, someway. No one is saying HE'S going to be the owner. However, it has been stated time & time again by himslef that he will be involved and do everything he can to secure the Bills future in WNY for years to come. The sight that NFR has may be small, but rest assured, if the remote chance occurs that a stadium will be built in NF, then all of the availble space needed can be acquired. Downtown NF is thirsty for any type of sustained development.
  3. It's a large tract of land a few blocks from the casino (the first portion of Niagara Street from about 9th Street to Portage Road). Howard Milstein is the head of Niagara Falls Redevelopment that has been buying up hundreds of properties in this area (mostly run downed, vacant homes). He is also real tight with Cuomo. Not saying that this is an ideal sight for the Bills new home but there is plenty of land available owned by a good buddy of the NYS govenor. It is crystal clear however that the current owner of the Bills has ZERO intention of building a new stadium. Such a project would only commence when the Bills are under new ownership, whenever that may be, if they decide NOT to move the team. The real interesting part here is that Roger Trevino is the president of NFR. He was also the agent of one Jim Kelly. Hmmm.....
  4. Not true at all. He basically said the same thing as he's been saying all along. Typical business-speak. Certainly you do not expect him to say 'yea the report's true and by the way, take all the leverage we have now in securing the best deal for the Bills.' They will not say anything to the public so as to not disrupt negotiations. It was kinda funny how he got off the topic real quick and they segwayed into a new stadium. These people are pretty slick about what/how they say things to media outlets....all part of the game...
  5. The Niagara Falls Reporter is reporting a lease deal is imminent....announcement in 7-10 days....8-10 year deal... http://www.niagarafallsreporter.com/Stories/2012/Oct30/BillsDealImminent.html
  6. FYI - A friend of mines parents live next door to a Bed & Breakfast on Park Place in downtown Niagara Falls. He claims that TO & Company will be filming a portion of his VH1 show there tonight at 7:30pm.
  7. I'm not saying this is gospel, but that fact remains that this information came from the mouth of a former Buffalo Bill (Not Ruben Brown or Thurman Thomas) with whom I work with. I personally didn't believe it when he told me but it is what it is. I'm not asking anyone to believe it...it's just what I heard...
  8. What you are about to read may turn out to be completely untrue, but considering who I heard it from, at least it makes it somewhat interesting.... Today I spoke with a former Buffalo Bill who I've known well for the past 10 years who still lives & works in WNY. He knows people at One Bills Drive with whom he still talks to & told me that the Bills have been feeverishly trying to acquire QB Jay Cutler from the Broncos. Again, I'm not sure how valid this is but considering who I heard it from it certainly continues to stoke the fire of wonderment especially with Cutler's agent alledgedly in town....
