  1. Blogging isn't necessarily journalism. Just sayin'. It can be, but in many instances, even though the blogger may be a journalist, much of what is said and reported on are things done to illicit reaction. Take it for what it's worth.

Haha I almost put journalist in quotes but I was like no one will say anything. Interchanging "journalist" and "paid professional sports blogger" doesn't change the point I was getting at :)

  2. After all is said and done we are still 6-7 years behind the times. The NFL is now more like the NBA. It is less a team sport and more a coaching/star player/match-up/exploit weakness league than ever before. Credit the Bills for starting this trend with the K-gun. But now we have no players that are clear match-up problems for other teams. We do not have a 6-5 WR that can simply out-muscle two defenders. We do not have a dominant run or pass blocking OL. We have no TE that can beat a LB or a safety let alone force the defense to adjust. At best we have an olympic long jump guy to play the role of underneath WR. We have a RB that can split out of the back field but we have no idea if he can play the ball in the air well. And lastly we have a QB that may or may not be a read option or pocket passer. We have no freakish pass rusher and no overwhelming run stuffer.

This is what happens when the franchise changes directions and philosophies every 2-4 years. We have all the supporting personnel you need to succeed but none of the true weapons. Maybe the UDFA WR from Tenn will be the weapon at WR.

Look for 6-10 maybe 7-9 unless Kolb turns out to be some type of Drew Brees in the making under Marrone. Then next year they take a difference maker at DE/OLB or WR/TE.

Wait, is spiller not an elite playmaker? No? Okay.

  3. ....how does having an extremely basic understanding of math, and having a general understanding of the meaning of words, relate to ones ability to be able to play football

No one has been able to show it does. Which is interesting because it would be easy to do statistically ...since it is a test and is measurable. However anyone saying that for certain positions (ex: QB) it matters and for some it doesn't, they have no proof or evidence. Anyone saying it matters, they haven't shown any proof or evidence etc. Opinions are fine for the most part, but since we are talking about something that is measurable, opinions are sorta silly. Either this does or doesn't matter, and there is no proof.

Someone making the claim that this test is similar to another test (the only way to make such a claim is with very specific test) is speaking on an uninformed opinion. And someone making the claim this matters at all is speaking on an uninformed opinion.

Sorry this test bothers me because people make such a big deal out of it when there is nothing of substance that means anything about it. ALL these scores tell is how good the individual is at taking the wonderlic test. Sorry, fact.

if anyone could provide raw wonderlic scores and we as a community came up with what we wanted to see with them, I'd be glad to run some stats on them and see if this test means anything at all

  4. Thanks for the complement. I choose not to insult people like a 5 year old child, but speak the truth about our team. In what way have we improved from last year? As far as I'm concerned we haven't gotten worse and haven't gotten better. Our RB tandem is probably the best in the league. We have a top 5-10 WR in the NFL as far as I'm concerned, and I do like our DC but I don't see any improvements on our roster. Our o-line is mediocre. Our WR core as a group is below average. Our secondary lacks depth. We have no good inside LBs. Our special teams is below average and I won't even mention our QB situation which WON'T be improved by our draft pick, whoever we draft. If you don't like what I say, tough sh*t, but it's the truth.

I do not think that word means what you think it means good sir
