Bills say new stadium is 75% complete

‘1973 — Bills 37, Patriots 13 — A crowd of 72,470 was in attendance for the stadium’s first December game, as O.J. Simpson dashed through the snow for 219 yards and a touchdown to surpass 1,800 yards in the 13th game of his record-breaking season. Wallace Francis returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, Joe Ferguson completed only two passes but both went to Bob Chandler for touchdowns, and John Leypoldt made all three field goal attempts as the Bills ensured themselves a winning record for the first time in seven years. Fullback Jim Braxton had 70 yards rushing as Buffalo’s Electric Company powered a 293-yard day for the offense. Simpson, who had 250 yards rushing at New England in the season opener, had a 71-yard run in establishing a season-best 9.9-yard rushing average in the second meeting. With 203 yards on another snowy field at Shea Stadium the following week, Simpson became the first NFL player rush for 2,000 yards in a season.’
