Tremaine Edmunds embraces expanded leadership role with Bills

‘“It’s year two for me, so obviously leadership is going to pick up some,” he said. “Focusing in on those points, taking that next step in my game, building the whole team – I’m ready for that challenge. I’m ready for that next step. I’m excited for it.”‘

Bills reportedly host free agent running back TJ Yeldon on visit

‘”I don’t want to sit here and say we need it,” Beane said of drafting a running back. “I get it, we’ve got two guys who are over 30. We’ve paid attention to it. But I still think there’s guys who are out there and even some in free agency still who can help who will get on teams and help them.’

What They Said: Beane, McDermott, Allen and Edmunds on first day of offseason workouts

‘Just the whole NFL experience. I was young coming in and learning a new system, so I have a year under my belt now. So now, it’s about going back and fine tuning what I did last year and what we did as a team. Learning from there, sitting down with the guys, getting more into depth with it now. Talking more football, more situational work since everybody now has a foundation. We’re all kind of on the same talk now as we got through it a little bit last year. But just going from there and learning from there and getting better.’

Buffalo Bills 2019 NFL Draft: Pros, cons for T.J. Hockenson at No. 9 – How does he fit?

‘Simply put, adding Hockenson arguably gives Buffalo their biggest missing piece on offense. Jason Croom, Tyler Kroft and Jake Fisher all bring unique traits to the tight end position, but none come close to being as complete of a player as Hockenson is from day one.’

2019 NFL Draft: Buffalo Bills are taking D.K. Metcalf, says SI’s Gary Gramling

‘While Gramling sounds like he was connecting the dots in his declaration, Metcalf has been a popular mock draft choice for Buffalo leading up to the draft. Despite adding John Brown and Cole Beasley to their offense, Buffalo would benefit from adding another downfield threat and Metcalf’s skill-set seems perfect for second-year QB Josh Allen.’

Next generation

‘A team which finished 6-10 last season, the Bills will be looking for Allen to lead a rapidly evolving roster, as the Buffalo front office seems to be adding pieces almost on the daily in hopes of making a push toward becoming a perennial playoff contender. With such a heavy load and great expectations heaped on a second-year quarterback, one could certainly see those expectations turning out to prove difficult for Allen to manage, However, the 22-year old signal caller says that he is excited for the opportunity.’

Edmunds ready for the challenge of being Bills’ defensive leader

‘Allen would be expected at the podium. He’s now the unquestioned starting quarterback and leader of the offense, but often times it’s a veteran who is chosen to speak on behalf of the defense. Last year, it was a trio of defensive leaders who stood up there. Kyle Williams, Lorenzo Alexander, and Micah Hyde all answered questions after the first day of workouts. Williams retired, but Alexander and Hyde are still here and still leaders of the team. So it says a lot about how the Bills feel about Edmunds to place him in that spot.’

T.J. Yeldon visits Bills

‘Yeldon spent the last four seasons in Jacksonville after being selected by the Jaguars in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The 25-year old University of Alabama product finished with just 414 rushing yards and one touchdown in 14 games last season. Yeldon is a bit more of a third-down, pass-catching running back. He averaged 3.4 receptions per game in his four seasons with the Jaguars and tallied 30 or more catches in each season. He set a new career-high with 55 receptions in 2018.’

NFL working with Buffalo researchers to make schedule more ‘fair’

‘Researchers analyzed the total number of games played by an NFL team against other teams coming off a bye-week between 2003 and 2012. The Buffalo Bills played 14 games against a team coming off a bye week. That’s tied for second-most in the league during that time frame. The Atlanta Falcons played the most games against teams that were rested.’

Josh Allen excited to team up with Cole Beasley

‘”But, it’s very helpful for an offense when you know that he’s not a safety valve, but he’s going to be there and you can trust on him to win. It’s going to take practice, a lot of repetition so that I’m on the same page as him and vice versa.”‘

Tremaine Edmunds excited to face brothers in NFL regular season

‘”I’ve been talking since it first came out. I have two brothers there actually, Terrell and Tre. We’ve been talking about it. My parents, they’re happy. Everybody’s happy,” Edmunds told reporters on Monday. “It’s going to be a good game and it’s going to be a good season. We’re going to take it one step at a time. When that time comes, it comes, but I’m excited though.”‘

Josh Allen and Tremaine Edmunds are setting these leadership goals for the offseason

‘“I just wanted them to know that I was following and I was trying to stay up with everything that was going on and let them know that I’m happy to share anything with them,” Allen said. “So just trying to reach out and get my foot in the door and start that relationship as quickly as possible.”’

Bills Today: NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah makes this prediction for the No. 9 pick

‘“Hockenson the most complete tight end in the NFL draft,” Jeremiah said. “He’ll help the run game as well as be an asset in the passing game for Josh Allen.”’
