For new Bills center Mitch Morse, only perfect will do

‘“I pride myself on being the best teammate I can be and whether that’s knowing my assignment or just being there helping the guys out. … I’m not always the biggest guy, but it’s a physical game and I pride myself on being pretty physical inside. There’s always room for improvement. I can be even more physical, but I like finishing toward the ball and I like picking my guys up.”‘

Mark Gaughan’s Bills Mailbag: Trade down from No. 9 could be attractive

‘Even though Denver signed Joe Flacco, do you think John Elway is hitching his wagon to the 34-year-old for the next three years? He could take Missouri’s Drew Lock. I do not see Cincinnati, at No. 11, going for a QB, even though most fans look at Andy Dalton and say he’s not the long-term solution. With a new head coach, Zac Taylor, the Bengals are not easy to predict. But the people I’ve talked to in the league like a linebacker more than a QB for the Bengals.’

Poloncarz on renovating New Era Field: ‘Why would we not do that?’

‘”You have to make the determination of do you build a new stadium or do you renovate the existing stadium and get the best bang for the buck,” Poloncarz told The Buffalo News after Pegula’s comments about a “Buffalo-style” stadium. “We know if we can extend the lifespan of that stadium for another 25 years, and if it worked for our market, why would we not do that?”‘

The 10 newest stadiums in the NFL — and what Buffalo can learn from them

‘New stadiums and stadium overhauls in places like Minneapolis, Miami, Kansas City and Indianapolis offer us some valuable insights.’

2019 NFL Draft: 9 reasons Buffalo Bills will draft Houston DT Ed Oliver

‘A case could be made for EDGE rushers like Brian Burns or Montez Sweat or even a tight end like T.J. Hockenson, but Oliver would seems like he would literally be the best player available close to the Bills’ first round selection.’

Sources: Buffalo Bills to host Western Illinois DT Khalen Saunders on pre-draft visit

‘During his four seasons at Western Illinois, Saunders recorded 127 total tackles, 18 sacks, 34.5 tackles for loss and six forced fumbles. After a great career at Western Illinois, Saunders was invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl to showcase his skills. Early in the week, Saunders learned that his fiancee, Ayanna Hall, was in labor. The two decided that it was in Saunders’ best interest to stay for the practices and appear in the showcase game.’

Jim Kelly helps empower kids with hearing loss

‘Former Buffalo Bills quarterback and HearStrong ambassador Jim Kelly joined GMA Strahan and Sara Thursday to recognize two sisters who are raising money for kids in need of hearing aids.’

Losing for Levy: How throwing game led to Buffalo Bills hiring HOF coach

‘“There were a lot of older players who didn’t care for Coach Bullough at all,” Wolford told Moran. “And literally, you know, we were playing Tampa my first year and they knew that if we lost to Tampa he was getting fired. Again, I’m just a young kid who’s naive and taking this all in second, third hand. But we literally had players before the game and at half time saying, “If you make a tackle, if you catch the ball, if you play any good I’ll kill you.” And we went out and lost the game. We lost the game on purpose and sure enough Coach Bullough was fired and Marv Levy was hired. And really that was all she wrote. You put the combo of Bill Polian and Marv Levy together and magic happened.”’

Bills will reportedly host Mississippi WRs DK Metcalf and A.J. Brown

‘The Bills sit at ninth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, which could be in range for a player like Metcalf to fall to them in the first round.’

Bills add core special-teams candidate in RB Senorise Perry

‘Perry also has a good reputation in the locker room. Former Dolphins assistant Dowell Loggains, now the Jets’ offensive coordinator, referred to him as “Coach Perry.”’

Four things to know about new Buffalo Bills running back Senorise Perry

‘A running back by trade, Perry has earned his stripes in the NFL as a special teams’ gunner of punts and on kickoff coverage. He has only eight career rushing attempts for 30 yards in 48 career NFL games, all of those in 2017 with Miami.’

Think the Buffalo Bills have the best fan base in NFL? You can vote on it

‘The Buffalo Bills have been voted all the way into the “Elite 8” and now face a battle against the New Orleans Saints fan base for a trip to the Final 4, and the vote is neck-and-neck after a few hours.’

Buffalo Bills sign running back/returner Senorise Perry

‘Perry combined to return 18 kickoffs for 366 yards in his previous two seasons with Miami.’

Bills sign running back Senorise Perry

‘Perry has mainly played special teams and will likely do the same if he makes the Bills’ roster out of training camp. In 48 career games, he has just eight carries.’

Joe B: 2019 NFL Mock Draft No. 2

‘TE TJ Hockenson, Iowa.’

Bills sign special teamer Senorise Perry

‘Perry, 27, spent the past two seasons with the Miami Dolphins chiefly as a special teams performer. After finishing third on the Dolphins in special teams tackles in 2017, Perry led the team in special teams tackles last season and had a fumble recovery.’

Bills Today: GMFB picks this Bill to breakout in 2019

‘“They got him tons of help, all of the additions and there were some blockbuster moves around the league and they did a lot up In Buffalo,” Adams said. “They added the trusty chain mover in Cole Beasley and a nice threat for him in John Brown. Who’s to say the Bills don’t wreck the draft and add a guy like Metcalf. I think they see an opportunity here, they trust Josh Allen. I think he’s the breakout stud at the quarterback spot in 2019.”’

Bills tied for lead in free agents signed but not in money spent

‘“Obviously, our cap was in a position where we could be aggressive in spots that we needed to be, but again try and be smart with our money,” General Manager Brandon Beane said after the first wave of signings.’

A ‘Buffalo style stadium’ could be in our future. What does that mean?

‘”I hate to see some big elaborate thing gets built and then all of a sudden, ticket prices double or triple,” he said, citing New York Yankees games he’s watched where the first 20 rows are empty. “These new designs cost so much that they price out the everyday family. That’s the last thing we want to see here.”‘

House panel seeks Trump records regarding bid for Bills

‘”It was my experience that Mr. Trump inflated his total assets when it served his purposes, such as trying to be listed among the wealthiest people in Forbes, and deflated his assets to reduce his real estate taxes,” Cohen told the committee in his testimony last month.’

Buffalo Bills release running back Chris Ivory

‘Ivory was on borrowed time from the moment the Bills signed 35-year-old Frank Gore to a one-year contract a couple weeks ago. With 30-year-old LeSean McCoy still on the team as the No. 1 back, Gore was projected to be the backup, and there was no need to retain the 30-year-old Ivory.’

If the Bills build a new stadium, Terry Pegula says it will be ‘Buffalo-style’

‘The Pegulas, New York state, Erie County and, yes, the taxpayers will foot the bill to build it, but once it’s ready, will western New Yorkers be willing to shell out for personal seat license fees, plus tickets, parking and concessions that will probably be two or three times more expensive than what they’re used to at New Era Field? And in the corporate world, does western New York have enough companies able and willing to pay what will surely be exorbitant prices for luxury suites?’

Bills release RB Chris Ivory | What it means for Buffalo

‘Ivory’s release also means that the Bills will likely target a running back on day two or three of the 2019 NFL Draft. With two backs over 30 years old, Buffalo has the opportunity to find a young back who can learn from LeSean McCoy and Gore in 2018 and possibly take over as the Bills’ lead back in 2020.’

Buffalo Bills’ Tre’Davious White says goodbye to Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski

‘“He snuck me y’all !!! Almost broke me in half !! Great Player tho.”’

Why can’t Antonio Brown let go of Buffalo? Fans are so over him (Commentary)

‘Listen, this situation is played out and everyone involved, especially Bills fans, are more than ready to move on. But don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad about sticking up for your city.’

Bills release running back Chris Ivory

‘Last year, Ivory signed a two-year deal with the Bills and served as the backup to Lesean McCoy, a role that will presumably be filled by the recently-signed Frank Gore this season.’

Could Buffalo afford a new Bills stadium?

‘So, could Buffalo afford to build a new NFL stadium?’

Bills release RB Chris Ivory

‘He played a reserve role behind LeSean McCoy and was used in short yardage and goal line situations. That role however, was likely compromised by the addition of free agent signee Frank Gore, who was signed earlier this month.’

Bills Today: NFL.com’s Adam Schein makes this prediction for Buffalo’s 2019 season

‘I’m loving the makeup of this squad. The offensive line is revamped, with C Mitch Morse and OT Ty Nsekhe joining the fray. The receiver position actually has some juice, with the additions of John Brown and Cole Beasley. How much will all of this help second-year QB Josh Allen, a player whose star power I firmly believe in? Lastly, Sean McDermott’s stamp is all over this defense, which quietly finished last season at No. 2 in total D.’

Sean McDermott on Bills’ free agency: ‘Less continuity you have, the bigger the challenge’

‘”So we took this year and said, ‘Hey, now we have a chance, some flexibility to spend, and let’s not just spend irresponsibly, but let’s target the guys that we feel like that are out there that can help us.’ You can only target what’s out there, right? So now you say, ‘OK, now we’ve got these guys, these names on the paper. Well, how do we bring them all together and form a cohesive team?’ And that’s the challenge every year, in particular, when you’re building it, where there is a significant influx of new people.”‘

Sean McDermott to Bills bashers: ‘Spend a day, spend a week in Buffalo’

‘”In the time that I’ve been in Buffalo, my family’s been in Buffalo, I didn’t realize how important fit was when I was going through the interview process with the different teams to become a head coach,” he said. “I am very grateful to have ended up, and this can be said of all 32 teams, in Buffalo with the Bills because of the fit and because of the people and because of the tradition. So what more can you ask for from a city? Football to me is important to the City of Buffalo. That’s not the case in every city.”‘

ESPN’s Mel Kiper sees Bills rolling dice on Rashan Gary

‘“You hope that once he’s cut loose and turned loose in the NFL he can be a guy who can get more sacks,” Kiper said on a conference call with NFL reporters. “He has a rare skill set. He was the No. 1 player coming out of high school for a reason. He’s 277 pounds. He’s 6-4½. He has really long arms. He ran 4.58, he has really good upper-body strength, and he’s a tremendously gifted athlete.”’

Terry Pegula: New Bills stadium would be ‘scaled-down … Buffalo style’

‘”I think the answer is probably a scaled-down version of some of these palaces that are being built around the country,” Buffalo Bills co-owner Terry Pegula told reporters Tuesday night as the NFL meeting at the Arizona Biltmore came to a close. “The thing (Rams owner) Stan (Kroenke) is building in L.A. is amazing, Jerry Jones’ facility in Dallas. So we need to do something that’s Buffalo style.”‘

Antonio Brown makes it clear: He wanted no part of Bills

‘The podcast confirms what both Bills General Manager Brandon Beane and Rosenhaus both stated after the trade – that talks between the Steelers and Bills on a deal never got very far.’

Buffalo Bills draft: Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren to announce NFL pick

‘Warren will join a Bills player or NFL alumni to make the Bills’ sixth-round pick on April 27 as part of the “NFL100” celebration that commemorates the NFL’s 100th anniversary and its “Original Towns.” The Rochester Jeffersons were one of 14 teams that played in the NFL’s inaugural season of 1920.’

Sean McDermott on Josh Allen, state of Bills rebuild and more at NFL’s Annual Meeting

‘”That’s the challenge every year. The less continuity you have, the bigger the challenge, right? So it’s a challenge to bring guys together that are coming off of different teams in particular with how heavy we went free agency,” McDermott said. “That’s some of the risk of free agency, inherently. That said, we needed to improve our football team from a roster standpoint. So that’s also why you do the research that Brandon and his staff did, Joe Schoen, and so on and so forth, to try and close the gap as much as possible when it comes to knowing the players in free agency. It’s a slippery slope, the process of free agency, but again, we tried to go with our critical factors of what we feel like to close that gap as much as possible.”’

Bills’ Sean McDermott: Spend a day in Buffalo and ‘get around the energy in our city’

‘“I would just say perception and reality are not always the same,” McDermott said. “Spend a day, spend a week in Buffalo. Get around the people, get around the city, get around the energy in our city. People that say (Buffalo is undesirable landing spot for NFL players) haven’t spent that time and really maybe don’t want to spend that time. To me that’s on them.”’

Antonio Brown didn’t want to waste his time on Buffalo Bills (audio)

‘Audio from Brown’s Boomin Experience Podcast shared a long conversation with Rosenhaus about teams showing interest in his services. At the time, Rosenhaus revealed that he thought the Raiders’ interest was fading in the wide receiver at the time. He also expressed that the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles were two teams who showed interest in adding Brown. Rosenhaus stressed that he would make the right decision for Brown’s next landing spot and pair him with a good quarterback. Rosenhaus then used the Bills as an example of a team that he wouldn’t even negotiate with.’

2019 NFL Draft: Mel Kiper finds Kyle Williams’ replacement for Buffalo Bills in Mock 3.0

‘“Gary had a strong combine — he ran a 4.58 40-yard dash and tested well in every workout — but we already knew he was gifted physically. The interviews were more important for him there. He was undoubtedly asked about why he had just 10.5 sacks over three seasons. This pick is a bet for his ceiling, which is extremely high, and coaches will try to get the best out of him consistently. The Bills added receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley in free agency, but don’t rule out a tight end for second-year quarterback Josh Allen here.”’

Bills owner Kim Pegula: ‘Eye-opening’ new stadium advice brings new expectations

‘“(The CCA Icon owner) said, ‘Listen, this is going to be one of the biggest, most impactful projects to come (to Buffalo) in almost 50 years by the time we get around to it. Just make sure you keep your eyes wide open,'” Pegula said of the conversation with the executive.’
