Two Bills Drive

‘The Lions signed former Michigan quarterback Scott Dreisbach as their No. 3 quarterback and put cornerback Robert Bailey on injured reserve with a neck injury Tuesday.’

‘Dreisbach had been on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad since Nov. 14.’

Dreisbach joined the Oakland Raiders in 1999 as an UDFA from Michigan. He played in two preseason games before he was sidelined for the rest of the season with a broken leg. He was placed on IR in 2000 with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, and the Raiders released him in April. He was then signed to the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad in November

This resilience allowed the Bills to accomplish a feat that had never been done before in NFL history, to fight all the way to the Super Bowl in four consecutive seasons despite injuries, changes in personnel and other setbacks that might have derailed other teams.
