Two Bills Drive

‘The Bills learned of the heatstroke-induced death of Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Korey Stringer before yesterday morning’s workout, and while a cloud of sadness hung over the practice field at St. John Fisher College, it was otherwise business as usual.’

‘In addition to drinking water, Gatorade and Pedialyte, Jones advises the players to salt all food excessively to maintain sodium levels. He warns them not to use supplements such as Creatine because, as Jones said, "All these hocus-pocus things, we have enough money to buy them, but they don’t work." He also wants players to stay away from alcohol and caffeinated beverages.’

‘Following the death of Minnesota Vikings tackle Korey Stringer from heatstroke, Buffalo Bills coach Gregg Williams implored youth coaches and parents to educate themselves about heatstroke and heat exhaustion.’

‘The NFL is an elite brotherhood, a fraternity that will consist of just 1,643 of the most gifted and fortunate football players by the time training camps have once again done their evil weeding out. So when the Bills took a knee and listened to captain Henry Jones lead them in prayer, they were honoring one of their own.’

‘It is doubtful that Hansen will play in the scrimmage against Cleveland, but he may get some reps in tomorrow’s two practices with the Browns.’

"We want to open up today by saying every member of the Buffalo Bills organization wants to extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Korey Stringer’s family and friends and every member of the Minnesota Vikings organization," coach Gregg Williams said at his daily press conference.

‘The Friday sessions, which are free to the public, will have "no tackling whatsoever," said Browns coach Butch Davis. The teams essentially will engage in individual position drills and 7-on-7 sessions beginning at 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The scrimmage on Saturday is full speed and will have live tackling (except quarterbacks). A series of full-speed kicking and punting drills will kick off the scrimmage at 10:55 a.m.’
