When the Buffalo Bills add players to their roster, they arrive here from places all over the world. Although many return to these places during the off-season, several players have stayed and made a home for themselves and their families in Buffalo and Western New York. Buffalo has embraced these professional athletes as valuable members of the community.

‘Bills players complained that Sheppard’s game plans were too predictable and didn’t take full advantage of their skills. The Bills think Gilbride will do a better job of that.’

‘He’d better be right about Gilbride, because he just put his job in his hands.’

‘Jim Kelly’s 4-year-old son,Hunter, was released Monday afternoon from Children’s Hospital after spending the weekend in the hospital.’

‘Donahoe said another meeting is scheduled with Syracuse officials, though he declined to say when or the time frame for making a date at the Dome.’

‘Owner Arthur Blank and coach Dan Reeves met Monday with Buffalo director of player personnel Tom Modrak, interviewing him for the vice president/general manager position…’.

‘Buffalo Bills director of football operations Tom Modrak, one of the league’s top talent scouts, interviewed on Monday with new Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank as the team continued its search for a general manager in its restructured front office.’

‘"I’m delighted to be here," Gilbride said. "I’ve had some great experiences here, some positive, some not so positive. But I always had great admiration for the fans and the quality of this organization."’

‘Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said negotiations between the team and Syracuse University are only in the "conversation stages." Syracuse athletics director Jake Crouthamel said a meeting with the Bills has been scheduled for the near future. He added that the school has expressed interest in hosting a Bills game for several years.’

‘In outlining his plans, Gilbride refused to commit to starting quarterback Rob Johnson, whose future in Buffalo is in limbo. "That’s an organizational decision. And I’m sure they’ll ask me my opinion later on down the road," said Gilbride, who coached Johnson when the two were with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the mid-1990s. "Whatever way we go, we’ll be excited about coaching the guys that are here."’

Gilbride on RJ: “The thing that I know about Rob is that when we had in Jacksonville I thought he was a very talented player, a guy who loved the game, loved to prepare. He did all the things we asked him to do. I thought he had a very bright future ahead of him and I think he still does.”

Thank you for your caring, concern and all the prayers for Hunter. He is a bit better, but still in serious condition. We are all amazed at the continued strength of our little buddy, and he is surrounded by the love of his mommy, daddy, sisters, and grandparents – along with many other family members and friends.

Please continue your prayers for him, to pray for the families who have lost their children, for beautiful CJ’s life, and for all our children who are sick.
