Bills, Williams talk of super-sized deal

‘And incentives, like number of starts and postseason honors, will push the total package well past the $35-million mark.’

Kelly faces rival Marino in benefit flag football

‘OK, it’s only a flag football game and many of the players are well past their prime. But tonight’s "Final Showdown" between and Kelly and former Bills teammates against Marino’s Dolphins (plus a few more) hopes to draw 30,000-plus at the University of Buffalo.’

At very least, Bills should be fun

‘Until the Bills improve markedly in rushing the passer and stopping the run, they aren’t going to pull off any miracles.’

Kelly Ready to Take on Marino Again

‘”We’re the best of friends,” Kelly said. “But when we get on the field, it doesn’t matter if it’s on the golf course or deep-sea fishing trip, you’re competitive. You want to catch the biggest fish.”‘

Bills throwing Bledsoe right on to the hot seat

‘If off-season bombs counted in the standings, Tom Donahoe might have allowed himself to celebrate the touchdown.’

Toronto Sun | Jul 20, 2002

Chris Mortensen: Did Patriots trade Bledsoe to weaken Dolphins and Jets?

I think the Patriots dragged their feet on the deal, hoping they would not have to trade him inside the AFC East. The Pats struggled with the Bills in two victories last season (12-9 OT in Week 14). Certainly, Bill Belichick has confidence he has a handle on Bledsoe, but that would put Bledsoe in good company with just about any QB who has to face Belichick’s defensive schemes. Bottom line: I think the Pats made the Bills a very interesting team in 2002.

Management concerned with recent rash of off-field problems

The signing of rookie Maurice Jackson is probably not related to Rogers’ situation. However, it should be noted that Jackson was a terrific return man at Syracuse University because of his blazing speed. He reportedly ran an electronically timed 40-yard dash in 4.18 seconds during a workout at Syracuse in March 2000.

Pasquarelli: Sam Adams costs too much for Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills would love to make a run at Adams, too, club officials told ESPN.com, but their cap situation is such that they probably can’t even do a one-year contract with him.

Training camp Info

Confusingly, the Village of Pittsford is an incorporated village within the Town of Pittsford. Village residents are Town residents, but Town residents aren’t necessarily Village residents. One gets the impression that Village residents are somewhat pretentious, so don’t confuse these important matters.

Winners and losers in NFL off-season

‘All I know is that Buffalo will be better, and Donahoe can take a bow.’

Where Are They Now: Chris Keating

The Bills were in search of linebackers during the 1979 draft and chose Tom Cousineau with the first overall pick and Jim Haslett in the second round. In short, picking Cousineau didn’t really work out too well. However, a rookie linebacker who did work out for Buffalo was free agent Chris Keating.

Team can live without offseason troubles

‘While the Buffalo Bills have enjoyed an active offseason, the recent string of off-the-field incidents involving players is attention the organization can live without.’
