Despite published reports, Bills assistant GM Tom Modrak has not spoken to Seahawks officials about their opening for a GM. That’s not to say he won’t, but Bills president/GM Donahoe insisted this week that the Seahawks haven’t even phoned for permission to meet with Modrak. In the meantime, Modrak did interview last weekend with Jacksonville owner Wayne Weaver. If the Jags boss has any sense, he’ll hire him. Modrak is one of the best available talent evaluators in the league. Too many teams have passed on him since he departed the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago.
‘"That experience and the tremendous amount of enthusiasm and energy that he brings makes him a valuable addition to our staff," Buffalo head coach Gregg Williams said. "We have some young players at that position and I have no doubt they will benefit greatly from his expertise."’
‘Krumrie, 42, is a two-time former Pro Bowl player who is known for bringing intensity and a physical style to the unit he coaches.’
‘He’s been credited for the development of good, young pass rushers Reinard Wilson and Justin Smith the past two seasons.’
‘The Bills reportedly also asked for permission to speak to Bengals offensive line coach Paul Alexander, but Brown didn’t give it.’
‘"Tim was a great player for us, and he has been a very good coach," Bengals president Mike Brown said. "He always gives everything he has. We hold him in the highest regard and wish him the best with this new opportunity."’
‘Cincinnati Bengals defensive line coach Tim Krumrie is leaving to take the same job with the Buffalo Bills.’

Orchard Park, NY – The Bills today announced that the team has hired TIM KRUMRIE as its defensive line coach.
“Tim Krumrie has 20 years of professional defensive line experience as a player and an assistant. That experience and the tremendous amount of enthusiasm and energy that he brings make him a valuable addition to our staff,” said Bills head coach Gregg Williams. “We have some young players at that position and I have no doubt that they will benefit greatly from his expertise.”
The Buffalo Bills have officially started to conduct interviews for their assistant coaching openings.
On Thursday, Cincinnati Bengals assistant coach Tim Krumrie visited Buffalo to meet with head coach Gregg Williams.
‘When Williams took the job, he maintained that he and his staff would “teach” the Bills to be better players. But, judging by the three firings, he sorely underestimated the value of a pro coaching background.’
If Dick LeBeau became Bills defensive coordinator, that would not guarantee a return to the 3-4 defense Buffalo had mostly operated for more than 20 years before Gregg Williams took over.

‘He still is under contract to Cincinnati. But the Bengals gave permission to the Bills to speak with him.’
