Two Bills Drive

‘The Bills are 2-0, but did have a slight injury scare on Sunday against the New York Jets. Quarterback Josh Allen got hit in the nose, which caused instant bleeding. He came off the field for two plays to get it taken care of, and it was noticeably black and blue after the game. To ensure this doesn’t happen again, Allen was seen at practice sporting a visor.’

‘”It’s definitely bigger,” Brown said. “Definitely bigger. He looks like Bosa now.”‘

‘Allen has pitched himself as part of the family, now, too, an honorary Bosa brother. Why? Because of Allen’s swollen nose after being whacked in the face in Week 2.’

‘For starters, Buffalo defeated the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, which gives them the edge over Baltimore should their be a tie-breaking situation at the end of the season for a higher seed in the playoffs. In addition, the Kansas City Chiefs are 0-2 after losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. The two will play each other in Buffalo in Week 9, and there is a real chance the Bills enter that game unbeaten.’

‘“That dude do some great things,” Coleman said. “I don’t think he get enough credit. He get skinny through a lot of tight spaces, and he make guys miss and you would think you might have the angle, and he just look like he jogging, and beat the angle, and you just won’t catch him.”’

‘“I know my role pretty well and execute that at my highest level, so I’m pretty comfortable in that sense, but really no comfortability when it come to playing football,” Coleman said. “You can’t get comfortable, like there’s always something else to do, always somebody else to beat out. There’s always more money to get. I mean, catching the ball, scoring, there’s always more you can get.”’

‘Allen is wearing a visor to help protect his nose after taking a shot to that area in Week 2 against the Jets. With the visor, defenders won’t be able to easily hit his face through his helmet the way he was injured last week.’

‘”He’s an absolute stud,” Allen said. “He makes us a better team, and throughout the entire training camp and OTA portion, we understood that. We knew that. I’m just very proud of how he handled everything this offseason and didn’t let it become a distraction because he’s looking as good as he ever has. So, very happy for him, one of my favorite teammates I’ve ever had.”’

‘“Although it’s sometimes necessary for Allen to put the Bills on his back, he had issues early in his career of trying to do too much on his own,” ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg wrote. “That still comes up sometimes, but the Bills have shown that they don’t have to rely solely on Allen’s arm and legs. That was on display versus the Jets, as Buffalo’s dominant rushing attack led the way. James Cook finished with 132 yards and two touchdowns, and Allen didn’t score in a start for just the eighth time in his NFL career.”’
