‘“It’s the best time to play football,” he said. “When the stakes are high, you’ve got to go out there and perform your job. I feel like that’s a big part of this team — we want that pressure. We want to perform for each other and share that love we have for each other.”’

Shaq Thompson emerging as leader on Bills defense
‘When Thompson is on the field, the Bills’ defense tightens up noticeably. His leadership, communication, and physical play have helped stabilize a unit that’s been searching for answers.’
Today in Bills stadium history: Dec. 5
‘1993 — Raiders 25, Bills 24 — A month before the coldest game in stadium history was played between these two teams, the Bills bumbled a two-score lead with two turnovers in the fourth quarter to lose for the second week in a row. Jim Kelly passed for 276 yards and a touchdown to Don Beebe (115 yards receiving) but Kelly’s interception with 11 minutes remaining led to Jeff Jaeger’s 47-yard field goal bringing the Raiders within 24-19 inside of nine minutes remaining. Buffalo’s next drive ended with a Kelly fumble that Thurman Thomas recovered on third and long, and Jeff Hostetler threw the go-ahead touchdown pass to Tim Brown three plays later. Thomas rushed for 76 yards to surpass 1,000 for the fifth consecutive season and scored two touchdowns but the Bills’ comeback hopes collapsed when Thomas fumbled in L.A. territory with 2:49 remaining. Cornelius Bennett and Phil Hansen led a Bills defense that produced five sacks but no takeaways as the Raiders gained 399 yards and possessed the ball for 38 minutes. The Bills dropped to 8-4 but would win their next six games including the playoff rematch with the Raiders on their way to a fourth consecutive Super Bowl. Attendance at Rich Stadium was 79,478.’
After year away from Buffalo and injury adversity, Gabe Davis back to feeling at home on the field in a Bills uniform
‘”Honestly, I knew when I left I was already going to be back, but I had to leave,” Davis said. “I had to do what was best for me and my family at the time, but when it comes to (Sean) McDermott and (Brandon) Beane and Josh (Allen), Khalil (Shakir), I mean all these guys, I’m super close with them, and I knew there was going to be an opportunity for me to come back again.”‘
Dion Dawkins wins the Bills’ Walter Payton Man of the Year for 4th straight year
‘Since joining the team in 2017, Dawkins has made a big impact both on and off the field. He is particularly known for his foundation, Dion’s Dreamers, which supports children in underserved communities.’
Bills’ Dion Dawkins nominated for Walter Payton award in fourth straight year by the team
‘Dawkins’ foundation, Dion’s Dreamers, mission is to provide meals, clothing, and hygiene products for families in need.’
'Pressure can make diamonds' | The Bills seek consistency, building off a Week 13 win ahead of Cincinnati
‘”I don’t think we can afford to be inconsistent. Not now. Not that you can ever be, don’t get me wrong, but our backs are against the wall. That’s the way it is, and that’s our mindset,” McDermott said.’

‘This prestigious honor recognizes an NFL player from one of the 32 clubs for his excellence on and off the field. It marks Dawkins’ fourth consecutive year being announced as the Bills’ Walter Payton Man of the Year Club Winner.’

Where's the deep ball? Why the Buffalo Bills could 'get it rolling' downfield
‘Running the ball has worked well as of late for the Bills, who are 12-2 when James Cook gets 100 yards or more on the ground. But the resurgence of the run game has taken a bit away from the Bills’ downfield passing game. As the Bills gear up for winter football, starting with the Cincinnati Bengals, they will want to have at least the threat of a deep ball. With Allen now able to look toward Cooks or wide receiver Gabe Davis, those opportunities may be back in play.’
Analysis: Bills have been clutch in December, and they will need to keep it up
‘“There’s an element to playing football and especially in Buffalo,” offensive coordinator Joe Brady said. “When the leaves have all fallen, we hope we’re playing our best ball.”’
Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa week to week with hamstring injury
‘Wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) and linebacker Terrel Bernard (elbow) were unable to practice Wednesday. The Bills’ starting left tackle, Dion Dawkins, rejoined the team for the walk-through as a limited participant, but he’s still in concussion protocol, coach Sean McDermott told reporters. Bosa is considered week to week, McDermott added, which means the edge rusher could miss anywhere from one to four or five weeks. It’s too soon for the team to determine the severity of the hamstring injury.’
Bills cornerback Christian Benford named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
‘It’s the first time Benford has been named the conference’s defensive player of the week. He became the third Bills player ever and the first since 2010 (Drayton Florence) with a fumble return for a touchdown and an interception in the same game. Florence accomplished the feat against the Bengals on Nov. 21, 2010.’
Ex-Bills receiver Elijah Moore joins Denver Broncos' practice squad
‘The Broncos are Moore’s fourth time in five seasons, and he requested to part ways with Buffalo last week because he was not satisfied with his role in the offense.’
Jim Kubiak: Josh Allen didn't fly high vs. Steelers, but believe it: He was masterful
‘Allen’s overall performance grade in this game of 96% reflects his ability to do his job on each play. In many cases, that was to get the Bills’ offense into the right running play or the correct middle-linebacker identification for his pass protection. There were times when Allen flashed his remarkable skills. His eight runs in this game mattered, as they came on important downs and kept drives alive, and his score in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach.’
Bills likely without top pass rusher vs Bengals: Latest injury report
‘“From what I’m being told, we’re thinking a week-to-week type of deal,” McDermott said Wednesday before the Bills conducted a walk-through practice. “But that can be perceived one of two ways. Is it week-to-week? Is it one week? Or is it like week-to-week as in four or five weeks? So we’re hoping on the shorter end of it. Joey’s intent on getting back as soon as he can, he loves to play, and so you saw his impact last week there.”’
