‘”It’s hard because we’re all competitive,” he said. “We all want to be right, but we’re not always right. And as I’ve said, this is a projection business. You’re weighing risk, whatever round it is. Especially when you’re talking about a one and two and things like that. And so, you know, I just want to get it right for the team and for Terry Pegula and that crew. That’s my job. It’s not to pick the players how I rank them. It’s how the consensus, how we feel, making sure I see alignment and making sure we all have the shared vision for this player and how we’re going to use him here in Buffalo.”‘

When are the Bills picking in the NFL Draft? What are their draft needs?
‘The Bills have demonstrated under GM Brandon Beane that they are comfortable taking the best player on their board, not pigeonholing themselves to a current position of need. That said, there are some thin spots on the Bills depth chart.’
Micah Hyde’s charity softball game returns to Sahlen Field on May 4
‘This year’s event at Sahlen field once again offers Bills fans the chance to cheer on their favorite players in an off the football field environment. Hyde’s annual game has become a staple in Western New York, drawing thousands to support a great causes.’
Who will the Buffalo Bills draft? Fans share their thoughts
‘The most pressing needs are cornerback, safety, and defensive line. While adding offense is never a bad move to give Josh Allen as many weapons as possible, there are glaring holes on the defensive side of the football. A starting CB job opposite Christian Benford seems to be open, even with recent signings of Tre White and Dane Jackson. Other spots are open – maybe not for a day one starter – but as the team looks to build for the near future.’
Can Josh Allen’s influence keep youth off social media?
‘Simmons believes Allen’s influence could encourage young people to reconsider their social media habits. “I think his influence is very impactful,” Simmons said. “His voice being on social media, talking about ways to use social media, even taking it back or taking time off of it, can be very impactful for our community.”’

Tre'Davious White: Buffalo 'is the place that I want to be'
‘“But just knowing the position that I’m in now, like the only thing that I can come in and just do the best that I can and showcase my talents to the best of my ability. And that’s all I’m looking to do.”’
James Cook not at start of Bills' offseason program; Brandon Beane looks ahead to draft
‘“It’s voluntary,” Beane said when asked about the significance of Cook’s absence. “So, guys come and go. Guys have things going on. Try not to look too far into it. We could all assume he’s not here because he’s unhappy with his contract or whatever, but that’s not fair. He hasn’t told me that. No one’s told me that he said that, but I think that’s kind of unfair to say he’s not here because of that. It doesn’t mean he’s not here next week or the week after. He’ll be ready to go, though.”’
The Bills swung and missed on Kaiir Elam. Now they need to prioritize cornerback early in NFL draft
‘The challenge is finding the right guy, one sturdy enough to body receivers at the line, fast enough to run with them downfield, physical enough to tackle running backs and smart enough to handle every intricacy of the Bills’ system. The checklist is long.
What positions do the Bills need most in the NFL draft? We break it all down
‘Here is a closer look at the Buffalo Bills’ needs entering the 2025 NFL draft, taken from The Buffalo News’ draft preview position series. It is ordered by degree of need.’
NFL draft preview: Here are the composite top 100 player rankings
‘defensive linemen constitute nine of the top 30 players and 14 of the top 45 in a composite ranking of 2025 nFl draft prospects. That should be good news for the Buffalo Bills, who enter the draft with picks at nos. 30, 56 and 62. The Bills could use both a defensive end and a defensive tackle. There are 18 defensive linemen in the top 60.’
Jay Skurski's Mock Draft 3.0: The Bills fortify the middle of their defense in Round 1
’30. Buffalo Bills. Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan. We go back to our original pick for the Bills in our first mock draft of the season. There is a good reason: Grant is a really good fit for what the Bills need at defensive tackle. He should be an immediate contributor as a run defender, and the hope will be that he develops as a pass rusher while working in tandem with DaQuan Jones opposite Ed Oliver. Some mock drafts have Grant going in the late teens, while others having him around in the top of the second round. That just goes to show the uncertain nature of this year’s class. Cornerback also figures to be a consideration here, but Grant’s physical ability and potential is too good to pass up at this point. Sean McDermott is a big believer that games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage, so strengthening his defense up the gut takes priority.’
Bills Mailbag, NFL draft edition: Should Brandon Beane swing a trade to move up in the second round?
‘I’d rather stay put and take a player at that position late in the second round, then come back with either an edge rusher or wide receiver with my next second-round pick just a few minutes later.’
James Cook a no-show for start of Bills voluntary workouts
‘Cook created some waves when he announced on social media that he believed he was worth a contract extension that would pay him $15 million per season. That was quite a bold ask, and Beane was asked about it at the scouting combine in late February and again at the NFL owners’ meetings in late March.’
