‘”The Bills have issues of their own,” Davenport wrote. “What the Bills don’t have is a lot of resources to address those issues—the team is over $7 million in the red against the projected salary cap for 2026. The team will no doubt redo some deals to free up wiggle room, but Buffalo will be hard-pressed to be major players in free agency.”‘

Bills urged to keep underrated Josh Allen weapon
‘”Connor McGovern had a solid 2025, his third season in Buffalo,” Pereles wrote. “He offers positional versatility in a pinch — he played guard in his first season with the Bills — and has a strong rapport with Josh Allen. He was Pro Football Focus’ No. 9-ranked center in 2025.”‘

DeWayne Carter wants to be a part of the solution along the Bills' revamped defensive line
‘“I’m just excited to play ball again,” Carter said. “It just turns into this child-like happiness to be back on the field again. Being injured is very humbling in the sense that it can just be taken away from you like that. I got hurt doing something I do every single day. I’ve probably done it a million times in my life, so for me to have the opportunity to get back out there, I’m just blessed.”’
Bills add depth at quarterback by re-signing Shane Buechele
‘Buechele, 28, has been a part of the organization for the past three seasons. He was a member of the practice squad in 2023, then spent the 2024 season on injured reserve because of a neck injury. He again spent most of the 2025 season on the practice squad before signing to the Kansas City Chiefs’ active roster in December. Buechele made his NFL debut, going 7 of 14 for 88 yards against the Raiders in Week 18. Buechele then rejoined the Bills’ practice squad in time for the playoffs. He got his NFL start with the Chiefs in 2021 as a rookie undrafted free agent. He spent that season on the practice squad and was a member of the 53-man roster in 2022, although he was inactive for every game. He did earn a Super Bowl ring that season with Kansas City.’
Applications now open for Damar Hamlin's Heroes Scholarship for Buffalo students

Buffalo Bills sign quarterback and wide receiver before NFL free agency begins
‘The moves bring back two players familiar with the organization. Josh Allen and Buechele are the only quarterbacks on the roster with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky scheduled to become a free agent next month.’
Analyst offers odd rationale for Bills' Josh Allen's QB ranking
‘“Josh Allen did not have an MVP-caliber season but still attracted some consideration because of how he carried the Bills to the Divisional Round,” Shook wrote. “Yes, I can mention how he had the benefit of playing alongside the NFL rushing yards leader in James Cook, or I can knock him for essentially giving away a Divisional Round game to Denver with his four turnovers. I won’t let that sink his stock, though, because his importance to the Bills and his elite ability vastly outweighs those details.”’
Bills know how to fix Keon Coleman claims ESPN analyst
‘”For Coleman specifically, Beane believes he can play, and Brady loudly threw his support behind him,” Getzenberg wrote. “If Coleman is on the roster for the 2026 season, Beane suggested playing the receiver more in the slot. (Of the 583 regular-season routes Coleman has ran, 473 have been on the outside.)”‘
Buffalo Bills reunite with quarterback, wide receiver ahead NFL Free agency
‘The team announced on Wednesday that it has signed quarterback Shane Buechele and wide receiver Jalen Virgil to one-year contracts. Both players are already familiar with Buffalo.’
Five players the Buffalo Bills have to make decisions on heading into the 2026 season
‘I think Knox will be on the Bills’ roster next year. But I could see the Bills exploring their options with their longtime tight end. The first is a straight-up pay cut. Of course, the player would need to approve this, but if the Bills ask Knox to take a pay cut in order to stay in Buffalo for the final year of his contract, I could see him agreeing to it. Matt Milano did something similar last year.’
Bills sign QB Shane Buechele and WR Jalen Virgil to one-year deals
‘The Bills signed Virgil to their practice squad the day after he was waived. The wide receiver eventually made it onto the active roster. He played in seven games for Buffalo in 2024. Virgil was then released and re-signed to the practice squad, signed a future/reserve contract in Jan. 2025 with the Bills but was waived ahead of the season. Arizona signed him to its practice squad briefly. After being released, he spent a short time in the United Football League with the DC Defenders before making his way back to One Bills Drive.’

Jeff Rodgers brings experience to Buffalo Bills special teams room
‘“I’ve got a past with (Beane), 15, 16 years ago, and then got involved with (head coach) Joe (Brady) and more of a phone and that kind of communication, and got going from there,” Rodgers said. “And just initial conversations on how things went, what was my role in Arizona day to day basis, what their vision was for here, and still working some of those things out. But excited to come to Buffalo, because it’s a good organization, good quarterback, and pretty vast history on special teams.”’
Bills' new quarterbacks coach called plays for the Titans in 2025
‘Titans coach Brian Callahan relinquished play-calling with his team 0-3 this season and named Hardegree as the interim offensive coordinator. Tennessee averaged 16.6 points in 14 games with Hardegree calling plays. Most important, Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward gradually improved. Ward, the top overall pick of the 2025 draft, threw multiple touchdown passes in four consecutive games.’
