Today in Bills stadium history: Oct. 11

‘2009 — Browns 6, Bills 3 — An unforgettable game even if very little that happened on the field was worth remembering. Winning quarterback Derek Anderson needed to complete only two passes in directing an offense that scratched out just 193 yards. Buffalo’s offense was hardly any better with 288 yards and three turnovers. The Bills were flagged for 15 penalties, nine of them false starts. Roscoe Parrish lost two fumbles in the last four minutes, the first one putting the Browns in position for Billy Cundiff’s winning goal from 18 yards away, and the second one near midfield on Buffalo’s last gasp to get in position for a tying field goal. Considered by many to be the worst NFL game played this century.’

Firebaugh High honors alum, NFL MVP Josh Allen with field dedication

‘It was halftime of Firebaugh’s 35-3 win over Tranquility, and in a few moments, the turf beneath their feet would be named: Josh Allen Field. “He wishes in the worst way that he could be here, but he’s in his season right now,” Lavonne said. “We’re here representing him, and we could not be more honored.”‘

Inside the Bills: Is Keon Coleman's latest transgression the start of a troubling trend?

‘Remember: This is not the first time the receiver has been disciplined by the team. He missed the first quarter of a Week 3 win over Jacksonville last year, with McDermott revealing afterward that it was a coaching decision after Coleman was late.’

Bills notebook: Matt Milano, T.J. Sanders don't practice; Josh Allen ready to check off Mercedes-Benz Stadium

‘Seven players were limited for the Bills: left tackle Dion Dawkins (thumb), safety Damar Hamlin (pectoral), tight end Dalton Kincaid (oblique), defensive tackle Ed Oliver (ankle), safety Taylor Rapp (nose) and linebacker Dorian Williams (knee).’

Bills make major strides in new stadium field grass, seat installation

‘The field and lower levels of the more than $2 billion stadium also are taking shape, with about a third of the stadium’s seats installed and work in the interior of the building making great strides in places such as the concourses and field level suites, which will provide fans unprecedented access.’

Jim Kubiak: Josh Allen didn't always take what the Patriots gave him, because of two reasons. Take a look

‘The first was a fumble by Allen on a botched jet sweep, and the second was committed by Keon Coleman. The penalties negated momentum and continuously robbed the Bills of positive plays, while the turnovers transferred momentum to New England. The Bills had nine offensive drives in the game, and their three total turnovers eliminated one-third of their possessions, giving New England more opportunities. And the Patriots cashed in.’

Bills coaches and receiver agree it’s time to grow after second disciplinary action

‘“I wouldn’t call it a setback, you know, it’s just a growing pain in the sense,” Coleman said Thursday as the Bills returned to practice in preparation for Monday night’s game in Atlanta. “It is frustrating because you know you’re better than that as a person and an individual and you don’t like the things that it shows. Sometimes it might show that you don’t care and things like that, and that’s not the case.”’

Bills may see return of one defensive starter vs Falcons, but another appears to be out

‘The potential good news is that defensive tackle Ed Oliver is practicing again, though McDermott said it would be on a limited basis. That has been Oliver’s designation the last couple weeks, and McDermott said Monday that he was “hopeful” that Oliver can play for the first time since Week 1. He sprained his ankle in practice a few days after that game and has missed four games.’

Rochester Democrat and Chronicle | Oct 10, 2025

The numbers tell the story of Bills’ cornerback collapse

‘Since the moment the Bills convened for training camp at St. John Fisher University, one of the biggest questions McDermott and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich needed to determine was who would start opposite Benford.’

Rochester Democrat and Chronicle | Oct 10, 2025

Rochester natives turned Falcons teammates will face hometown Bills

‘Cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr. and running back Nathan Carter both trace their origins to western New York, where their families and early football journeys took shape before diverging onto very different paths to the NFL.’

Bills looking for more consistency from Keon Coleman after disciplinary benching

‘“It’s a growing pain in a sense,” Coleman said. “It is frustrating because you know you’re better than that as a person. And you don’t like the things that it shows. Sometimes it might show that you don’t care and things like that and that’s not the case.”’

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman takes responsibility for his benching and lost fumble

‘“Just got to be more accountable,” Coleman said Thursday when the Bills (4-1) returned to practice to prepare for their game against Atlanta (2-2) on Monday night. “Things happen. You just got to do your best to try to eliminate them.”’

Bills' Keon Coleman on benching: 'Got to be more accountable'

‘”It is frustrating because you know you’re better than that as a person and individual,” Coleman added. “And you don’t like the things that it shows. Sometimes it might show that you don’t care and that’s not the case. You want to eliminate those things.”‘

Josh Allen makes stunning admission over Bills' loss to Patriots

‘“I think it’s a wake-up call, reset, whatever you want to call it,” Allen said. “We had been getting by previous games of maybe not playing our best football, and when you played a team that again did everything the right way, credit to them for coming into our home stadium and having a really good game plan, it does wake you up in terms of, hey, every week we’re going to get the team’s best, and we got to play up to our standard.’
