no running backs?

looks like marv will be an innovator once again going with 6 tight ends and no running backs. this could be the first offense to utilize the "5-tight end set!" marv does it again!

Shaud Williams: Last Back Standing in Buffalo

RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com

Friday, March 9, 2007

Update: Following the Willis McGahee trade, Williams is the only running back on the Bills' regular roster.

Recommendation: Don't go too crazy yet because there's still some free agency left, plus the Bills are very likely to draft a running back in April. However, there's something to be said that the Bills chose not to move forward with McGahee or Anthony Thomas (who could be re-signed), while they were willing to sign Williams to a two-year deal. He doesn't even project as a full-time back, but he does do enough of the little things that maybe a Kevin Faulk-type role could be in the cards. As an interesting and somewhat humorous side note, the Bills have one running back and no fullbacks right now, but have 5-6 tight ends still with the program.
