vegas55 Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 This says it all about mentality of NFL refs: I believe it was the Monday night game; referee running down the sideline, is tripped, apparently by somebody on the sideline, falls, and on his way getting up throws a flag. After a conference, they pick up the flag because ref never saw who tripped him; could have been anybody. The mentality on this ref was, I did not really see what happened, but what the hell, I'll call a penalty anyway; just in case. No wonder NFL games are bogged down with penalties. No doubt, NFL players are more talented than college, but there's way more penalties in NFL. Comes from a mindset of just looking for a reason to throw a flag.
