The value of depth

Recommended Posts

In today's NFL, it could easily be argued that two good players are more valuable than one great player. A long season with a very physical game means that injuries are not only a possibility but a definite certainty. So when discussions about Mario Williams or Vincent Jackson come up to be potential Bills, I have to consider the cost against the probable production. Williams has been solid but not great and he is coming off a major injury that usually never heels completely. A Jackson signing would be beyond stupid when you consider the locked in money at one position.
