Why Bills Can Land Top Coach

There are only 32 teams and right now about 7 coaches who are legitimate former coaches with strong resumes. If the common thought is that no one will want to go to the Bills because we are a re-building project etc... then why is everyone assuming that Holmgren would go to Cleveland.

Here are the potential HC jobs opening next year: ( in order of who I think needs a coach)

1. Buffalo

2 a. Oakland

2 b. Washington

3.Carolina (just a hunch)

4. Dallas

5. Houston

6. Cleveland

7. Jaxsonville

8. San Diego

9. Chicago

10. Tennessee

Ok - so there are 10 teams with possible openings but Dallas, Carolina, Houston, Jaxsonville, San Diego and Chicago could all make the playoffs and keep their current coach. Cleveland may also keep Mangini as they just hired him. I don't see any other team firing their coach other than those listed.

And if Fisher is fired in Tennessee then that just means the wealth of strong coaches just got better as well. Which is better for the Bills.

Finally, as much as everyone says the big name coaches won't go to Bufffalo, I'm not sure any of them would go to Wash and Dallas just because of the owners. We have a shot to truly get one of these guys. If Ralph is truly saying he will spend the money, then we do have a legitimate shot to get a real coach.

Houston, Jax, and SD will not be firing coaches. Oakland doesnt matter because no one will go there to coach. Washington will be a tough sell for some of these coaches because of Snyder.

That leaves Buffalo, Carolina (don't think Fox will get fired) Dallas (maybe) Cleveland, Chicago (maybe) Tennessee (doubt it)

Those openings don't leave a ton of room for all of these guys to coach.
