  1. I had just crossed the street when this guy came FLYING through. He was really moving, 50-60mph dragging road cones with him for a half mile, fishtailed across to the left lane where he smashed into a crowd of people, then kept driving up the hill and around the corner before the police were able to stop him. Craziest thing I've ever seen, and extremely scary.

  2. Perhaps we should try holding atheletes accountable for their actions from the time they are in high school. I'm sure everyone has examples of atheletes (or perhaps you were one) in high school or college that had things like underaged drinking, bad grades, minor run-ins with the law swept under the rug, in order to allow them to play in the schools big game, or keep them on the team. This is a pattern that snowballs into the individual thinking the rules don't apply to them.

  3. I could not care less what players do during the off seasons as long as they are on the field for opening day. If they get in enough trouble to get suspended for even one game, THEN and only then do I get pissed at them. Anyone saying we should get rid of Lynch is and idiot. If every team got rid of every player with legal issues there wouldn't be enough players to put together a game let alone a league.

These players are treated like superhumans from a young age, contantly pampered, given special and preferential treatment. Why is anyone surprised when they get to the NFL and go from (often times) poverty to having millions, that they make bad decisions and are unaware of how normal people live and function in society? There is no doubt NFL players are groomed to think and act like they are above and more privilaged than the average person. Why do we then villify them when they simply continue with this mind set in their professional careers?

  5. eh, thats fine my whole post was complaining about complaining. i would have been ok with jauron leaving because he has had enough time here to succeed and so goes the way of being an nfl coach, but I do still think he's a good coach and don't mind that he's back for another try. What do you think we'll do about the TE and C positions? Robert-best worst hands in the nfl-Royal better be gone that's for sure.

  6. Don't post much but by no mean am I a newbie here... Deep breath and here we go...

Although I tend to favor this message board over bb.com and others, it's increasingly become a place where it takes about a 1/2 hour to find a thread actually discussing football. When I do finally find one, it lasts about 3 posts before it becomes nothing but complaining, whining, shooting down other posters who actually have opinions and ideas other of their own etc. And ik ik, everyone will say "that's what this board is for" "welcome to the internet" blah blah blah." but come on people... come onnnnnnnn.

SUCK IT UP YOU'RE A BILLS FAN!!! Learn to love the misery. Keep your head down, fight through it, stay positive! I understand everyone is upset about our sudden downfall this year and wants to vent about having another mediocre season, but enough is enough. Let's start discussing what the team needs to do in the offseason, the draft, FA. Ralph and his old (old) school ways are clearly the underlying problem with this organization but there is nothing any of us can do about it. When the team does change hands, we will be faced with the real possibility of no longer having a hometown NFL team to obsess over, the cheer for, to complain about. So I say enjoy having a team to support and discuss while they're still here. Stop all the boo-hooing and the "i don't like the move they/he made" talk and get over it. And the people that have stated they are "no longer a fan of this team" or "i'm giving up my season tickets" great, good for you, do you want a medal? A pat on the back for giving up? The superbowl will taste sweetest to those that were there through thick and thin.

All the players support Jauron, and although I don't necessarily agree with keeping him, the players, front office personel, and yes, even Ralph know way more about how to run a team than anyone here. List all the stats you want, but Jauron is a good coach and a good leader. If he can't succeed in Buffalo next year, I have no problem bringing in a new coach, but I don't mind one bit that he is back this year. The Bills will be better off with the same staff, albeit not a stellar one, rather than a completley new staff and system.

I think the Bills will make some great off-season acquisitions (ala the Kawika and Stroud additions) and not only will we start out strong like this year, but we will rid Orchard Park of the early-mid to late-early-mid to mid to early-late-mid season slumps and make the playoffs in '09!!! WHEEWWWWW GO BILLS!!!!!!

  7. Here's an article:

    http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/billsnfl/story/526490.html

    Here's what he said:

“When you put the film on you’ll recognize me.” Peters said. “When you line up in front of me you’re going to recognize me. Bottom line: That’s what matters — the coaches and players. The fan voting, they only see the bad plays. I’m pretty sure they don’t even watch the tackle position. They just see when you get beat. So that’s what matters, when the players and the coaches vote you in.”

Offensive much? And can anyone argue that he doesn't hate the fans in buffalo?

    Revised for accuracy:

"Defenses are overwhelming me," Peters said after practice on Wednesday. "I worked

at it but it's no use. This is what you play the game for - to get to Hawaii - so screw the playoffs."

"The bottom line, what matters, is my restricted contract," he

said. "Fans always see my bad plays. I try to slack when they don't watch the tackle

position. So what matters is when you fool your fellow players and coaches into voting you in."

  8. Was watching the local news here in rochester last night and Peters also mentioned that he was, "...pretty sure bills fans don't even watch the tackle position. They only see the bad plays." I was a bit taken aback by this as most Bills fans I know are quite knowledgeable about each player/position and know how to watch individual positions during games. Maybe he's right though, maybe we all just go to the games, get drunk and scream at things we really have no clue about!

  9. Call me a pessimist but its pretty easy to put the pieces together to this tragic story...

The writing is on the wall: the Bills are as good as gone folks.

    Let' see:

    1) Past ten years of under-achieving.

    2) Bills hire a familiar face for PR reasons: Marv.

    3) Marv departs 2 years later. Was it public that it was just a two year stint? (Honestly don't know.)

    4) Ralph throws Buffalo under the bus two months ago in Toronto.. gives zero reassurance to Bills fans.

    5) Bills front office rebuffs any talk about lease; extension and needs - per County Executive

    6) Long-time Bills rival - Miami - chosen to play in Toronto - how is this not on purpose? Bills claim they had nothing to do with it.

Personally, I'd rather them just jet now for Toronto and let the pain begin.

It's a disgrace and I simply no longer have any respect for Ralph Wilson.

I hate you. Please turn in all of your Bills gear and retire from being a fan. If you can no longer get excited about the upcoming season/seasons, do us all a favor and find a new team now. Thank you!
