The base defense will be 5 or more DBs. When teams are in those defenses, they play 4 man fronts. Williams and Anderson will play most snaps with their hands on the ground.
Bryan Scott was not a "starter" in the Bills 4-3, but had more snaps in '12 than K.Shepard who was the "starter"

1. Ownership - has never made wining a priority. Polian was a fluke hire.
2. QB - a good QB would mask many of the other problems
3. Defense - I do not know how a guy with Wanny's resume and what could have been the best D-line in the NFL puts together such a poor unit. I think the game has passed him buy. I just cannot believe an innovative offensive mind like Gailey's did not see this coming.

How about Nix falls on the sword and retires at the end of the year.
Doug Whaley gets promoted.
I honestly do not want to see another complete reset as long as Wilson is the owner.
If Gailey and Wannsdedt are fired, it is more likely that the Bills will hire the next George Edwards and Steve Fairchild than the next Wade Phillips and Ted Marchibroda.

If winning in the NFL is so hard, why do half the teams do it every week?

2012
- The Bills are ranked 15th in the league in touchback percentage at 50%.
- They are ranked 15th in the league in opponents avg. starting field position at 23.9.
2011
- The Bills ranked 30th in touchback percentage at 24.05%
- They ranked 1st in the league in opponents avg. starting field position at 20.4.
Wow. Can you update this weekly and let me know the link to your source of information?
This is the argument against Potter.

Hey, I want to ask you something, an' I want you to be real honest. Do you think I need to lose some weight?

Are the replacement refs any worse than the regular refs?
Sure, the replacement refs are blowing some calls. Even with the regular refs there seemed to be blown calls every week.

Zonabb - Unless you are Jairus Byrd, I do not understand how you can be on an airplane with Leodis at the window, Wilson on the isle and you in the middle.

Not for anything, but you would think that Erie County would be showing some sense of urgency to get this lease wrapped up.
What makes you think they are not showing a sense of urgency?
There seem to be updates on the lease discussions every few weeks.

is being given the chance to find a starting job elsewhere.
Cooley wants to be a starter, Shanahan said, and the coach told him that Fred Davis is the Redskins’ starter. The team is giving Cooley an opportunity to seek a starting job elsewhere, Shanahan said.
“I think he’s earned that right,” Shanahan said.
Sounds lilke what Reid said when he cut VY

Can we get a way to rate posts?

Will teams be able to set different percentages for different games?

Giants OTOH, needed to put Ballard on waivers before they could claim him back & put him on IR for the 2012. There's some quirk in the rule that mandates Giants to have Ballard on the regular roster before he can be put on IR.
Why didn't the Giants just put him on IR? If they wanted him on IR, why waive him at all?

What's in it for Rogers?
The same that is in it for Rogers when they host anything.
Rogers pays the Bills to have a game in their stadium. People go to the game any pay Rogers.
Why does Rogers have UFC matches?
Why does Rogers have Sesame Street Live?
Unless Ralph is lying, his will dictates in no uncertain terms that the team is to be auctioned to the highest bidder. Period.
Please provide a source for this.
I have heard it. I have tried to verify it and cannot.

only winning puts rumps in the seats all season--it doesn't matter where they come from. In fact, there have been enough in WNY in the past to sell the place out. If he thinks he has a winning organization, or he can find one, then he knows he can make money here, just like they do in other "small markets".
Please see January 3, 1993. Winning does not always make games sell-out. Losing does not always prevent sell outs.
Arizona has sold out the last 61 games. over that time, they are 45-51 in the regular season.

I never understood the obsession with Mighty Crappo. Dog food in a tortilla.
My dog won't eat the orange stuff that drips off the ground beef.

Choice seems to be a better running back than White, but he was unimpressive as the #2.
If they are going to dress 3 HBs, you would want the 3rd one contributing on special teams.
I have a hard time remembering how well J. White contributed on special teams because Linebacker Chris White also played special teams.
3rd RB will probably come down to what happens at other positions. If special teams players like R.Martin do not make the team, then J.White has a better shot.

Bill Polian is 69. Only 3 years younger than Nix. Neither of these guys is going to be an NFL GM 10 years from now.
The question would be if we would rather have Chris Polian or Doug Whaley as the 'GM of the future'.
I'll take Whaley over Chris.
If Ralph wanted to hire a Polian to replace Littman, I'd sign up for righting that wrong.

I, like most of the people posting truthful responses, was in a basement listening on a radio.
It is funny, for a game that did not sell out, there sure were a lot of people there.

Now that they are the voice of the Bills, WGR should hire him to do trick throws in the parking lot before games.
He's got a degree in business. He's got some internet marketing experience. Maybe, during the week, he can be an account rep.

I also don't like the idea of a presser for a 2nd string qb.
I think the NFL issued a memo requiring all teams to have at least 10 press conferences between May 1 and July 20.
It was either VY or the press conference announcing that beer venders with more than 5 year experience will get a $0.15 per hour raise this year.

The club's succession plan is to put the team in a trust and sell to the highest bidder.
When did they announce that plan?
The only credible indications have been that Wilson's surviving family will be unable/unwilling to pay the estate taxes necessary for them to obtain possession of the team.
In 2010, John Wawrow said "From what I've heard in the background, and seen happening - without saying anything definitively, because I can't, because no one's actually told me anything - I have a better feeling that this team might be here longer, beyond Ralph Wilson, for a long time,"
This vague statement is the most credible report of what may happen when Mr. Wilson no longer owns the Bills. Very few people know the plan. The people who do know are not talking. People close to 'the people who know' do not seem as worried about a Bills move as they were 10 years ago.

No active players. Never again.
Guess who we drafted 5 picks ahead of Tom Brady?

My favorite one is "guess who the Bills drafted one pick before Gronk"
