  1. Best part was, the whole time the were showing bad plays by the Bills. They must've shown 20 interceptions by JP. You would've been left with the impression that the Bills went winless last year.

LOL I noticed the same exact thing....Floyd Reese really ripped into us from everything to losing our "best" players to JP not being the long-term answer at QB....

For the record, anyone who says Aaron Schobel wasn't our best player on defense and Lee Evans wasn't our best player on offense is either retarded or lying to themselves.

  2. OK, here goes, people whom I have seen out downtown or have heard of(sometimes on multiple occasions).

A few years ago I heard about someone running into kelsay when he was first drafted but not much since.

Plenty of stories about friends of mine seeing JP downtown, once I guess he tried to go to some club in sweatpants and the bouncer wouldnt let him in despite name recognition. I guess that Josh Reed will put em back from time to time as well. Friends have also run into: Stamer and jabari greer.

I know hes not a current bill, A guy i used to deliver pizzas with told me he saw a guy come up to lawyer milloy and act like a tough guy only to havce lawyer one-handed slam him into the wall. I also heard a hilarious story about Drew Bledsoes days in New England.

As for denney, hes a mormon so I doubt hes a heavy drinker.

In terms of who can drink the hardest and stand the longest my vote would go to Kyle Williams.

What'd you hear about Bledsoe in New England?

  3. They asked which departing running back's former team is hurt the most by the loss this season.

Michael Smith responded by saying that "it can't be Buffalo because they don't have a running back yet."

Here I thought A-Train had a pretty good year last season. I hope he was watching that because hopefully he would take it to heart and use it as motivation. I expect a big year out of him, with or without Michael Turner.

But anyways I saw that and it gave me a laugh so I thought you might find it noteworthy.

    Go Bills

  4. If the guy on the block was Urlacher Id have more interest. I'd rather see us do this with turner than with briggs I think, for multiple reasons. We'd probobly be a lot better off with patrick willis.

There is no guarantee that Willis is going to pan out...If we were going to draft a linebacker anyway, then why not trade the pick for one of the best in the league in the prime of his career?

There is never a guarantee about a draft pick...Remember Mike Williams? He was said to be the safest pick of the 2002 draft. If we can get Briggs for the 12 pick, I think we have to do it.

  5. Sounds like a choir boy. Is that whatt you want at MLB, or, would you prefer someone who would like to rip a guys heads off and spit down his neck?

Wasn't London Fletcher known for being one of the most spiritual and religious players in the NFL? He fared pretty well at MLB. Its who they are on the field that really matters.

  6. Set up meeting with QB russel, are they moving up, you guys think i can see them making some bogus trade involving eather betts are portis to raiders, but this can be interesting?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2817276

I think there is some posturing going on with the Redskins. I might not be 100% accurate but I believe Campbell only started 6 or 7 games and ended up with somewhere around 10 tds and 6 ints.

Gibbs has been known to be loyal, as evidence by his loyalty to an aging, declining Mark Brunell before finally naming Campbell his starter mid-way through this season when Brunnell really started faltering tremendously.

Plus, with a playbook as complicated as Al Saunders', you probably need an offseason to dissect it as a #1 quarterback before you can adequately be judged, so its hard to see Gibbs drafting Russell.

Just my opinion though. I don't think anyone could ever really know what goes on in Snyder's head.

  7. Ive seen so many incorrect player analysis on the guy from people here it's given me some honest to God laughs.

Ive watched every game the man's played.

He ABSOLUTELY was part of a rotation- so whomever in another thread said he'd excel in Buffalo cos he wont have to play all game, is wrong.

The guy honestly defines average. Nothing special, won't hurt you, a good guy to have coming INTO a rotation, not start. To get anything at all for the guy is nice, to land a guy like Spikes who, granted, is 30, like Walker, but has such a better skill set and upside in the return to form from the injury?

    I'll take it.

I know the history of the injury. I also know that Spikes played better as the year wore on last yr, and he was also hindered by a hammy injury that cant be discounted. I think he;ll be fine, and to only have to toss in a 2008 7th round pick> ????? And ya gave us a very good back up (I think he'll be AJ's back up, but whatever, they needn't burn a draft pk on QB this yr which is a plus, well, no wonder Sal Palantonio of ESPN said "Tell Buffalo Media to quote me- someone up there needs to know they were robbed!"

Oh, and this forum, apparently, has sparked some interest on another site......

    http://www.700level.com/fansview/nosebleeds/11831/1.aspx

    Enjoy.

Well if Sal Palantonio says it, it must be true...

Until Crowell went down Spikes was on the bench in 3rd down situations.....

He was a great player and a warrior, but do you honestly think we would have gotten rid of him if he was still capable of being a dominant playmaker?

I'm and idiot and I would know not to do that. Marv Levy and Dick Jauron have Ive League degrees. Read between the lines.

The Takeo you got is a watered-down shell of what he used to be. Still a great leader and locker room presence, but let's not go overboard and act like you got Lawrence Taylor in his prime.

  8. I got to say this is disheartening to hear Jaws say this. He usually seems to have our back, but like you said he is as unbiased an analyst as there is in relation to the NFL.

I mean for one, everyone else still thinks JP Losman sucks, despite the fact that he had a great 2nd half of the year (not including the Baltimore game). Jaws came out and said that Losman deserved all the same accolades that Vince Young was getting but nobody else (NFL analysts) were saying it.

For him to say that our offseason has been dissapointing is certainly noteworthy, but everyone also said our draft last year was terrible.

I may be in the minority on this one but I have unwavering faith in Marv Levy. As proven in the 1990s he knows how to build Super Bowl caliber teams. Let's hope in the 2000s he can take it a step further and assemble Super Bowl champions.

  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...oenfield/070328

In other news, they ranked the Sabres as the #1 Sports Franchise.

ESPN is a joke man...It's pop culture and nothing more....

I will never take them seriously again...Because of ESPN we know more about Danika Patrick and Michelle Wie's menstrual cycles then anything even remotely Buffalo Bills related....

It's ok though as long as Stuart Scott gets to make his Jay-Z references and we get to hear about T.O.

Sorry for the rant boys I'm done now.

    Go Bills

  10. I really believe that Marv and Dick want Crowell at ILB and P Willis is gone at #11 to SF.

If that happens it will be depressing, although "Poz" is pretty nasty and would be a nice addition....Either way I hope we go linebacker with our first pick.

For some reason, I really don't think we are going to take Leon Hall with the re-signing of Kiwaukee and the ultra-talented questionmark Ashton Youbouty waiting in the wings.

Despite the fact that he has drafted running backs in the 1st round before (Antwain Smith), it is hard to see that happening, as linebacker is probably our biggest hole....That and the fact that solid rbs are going to be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds (Irons, Pittman, etc.).

  11. Don't you two understand that there are at least two separate issues here? Pull your heads out and see if you can figure out the difference.

    1. Some pundits trashed the Bills for the McGahee. That's based on what they feel Willis will give the Ravens compared to what we end up with. Strictly on the field stuff.

    2. Willis is one of the dumbest millionairs on the face of the earth. He said some stuupid things off the field. He was trashed for the (apparently) on ESPN.

Do you see that #1 has nothing to do with #2? In 1 some trashed the Bills for a football decision. In 2 they trashed Willis for comments made off the field.

The world isn't black and white...just ask crayonz.

I didn't mean to quote LSI...I was strictly referring to your 2nd point...Take it easy

  12. And you know what the funny thing about this is. When we made the trade a few weeks ago they said the Bills made an AWFUL trade. HEY, WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON ESPN! THE BILLS OR THE RAVENS! I RESPECT YOU BASHING MCGAHEE NOW BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT EARLIER!

You just beat me to posting this...It was Mark Schlereth who said it and he just gained a fan...He also said he expected McGahee to get pelted with snow when they play Baltimore this year...

Good to hear someone from ESPN get our back...Mortenson would of agreed with McGahee's comments then went for the reach around on him...Luckily 2 dudes can't pro-create we don't need anymore little bad-teethed, grammatically challenged McGahees running around...Especially with the paternity suits and all

  13. How can you guys honestly be optimistic? Who can we beat with all of these kids and no veterans at all? I love the Bills but this team has a ton of holes to fill you must admit.

If anything, I trade down because we need bodies at this point. Linebacker which has always been a team strength is just putrid to look at in terms of the depth chart if you take Spikes out of there.

I respect the fact that Takeo, London, Clements and even McGahee were all quality players, but I really don't think our offseason has been bad at all.

We shored up the offensive line (obviously the most important facet in football), we got rid of a giant headache (Willis), who's numbers as a starter were really very similar to A-Train's when Willis went down to injury.

Takeo, London and Clements have all been good players here but they never got us over the hump and into the playoffs...London is 31 years old, and despite the fact that he had great numbers it has become pretty well documented that Jauron and Marv didn't think he had the year that his numbers would tell you. Crowell's numbers were terrific until he went down with injury and he is only going to get better. It is the right time to put him in London's spot and let him lead.

Two years ago, it seemed like Nate was getting destroyed by every team's best reciever every single Sunday. One example was Chris Chambers 238 yard game. The switch to the Tampa 2 obviously made his job a little easier and I think a lot of his success this year simply came out of the new scheme. Remember we got Youbuty, predicted to be a late first rounder last year, in the 3rd round and he could end up being an adequate replacement. Re-signing Kiwaukee Thomas was also huge, as he performed very well in the nickel spot.

Takeo is a warrior who gave us everything he had...The fact is he is almost 30 years old and coming off a ruptured achilles, arguably the hardest injury to come back from in professional sports...Keith Ellison performed brilliantly for a rookie and if we are looking to add Patrick Willis in the draft, you have to wonder if stunting Ellion's growth for a Takeo Spikes on the downside of his career is really worth it.

Marv has a plan man, just give it time to kick in...And in the meantime we can watch Donahoe's boys go and forget that jerkoff was ever leading our franchise.

  14. I realize that the premise of this thread is trite, but I was driven to it by the "$10,000 dollar question."

In my case, I am not sure. Certainly there would be a flood of emotions. I have spent a great deal of time and money being a Bills Fan. The "blue collar" thing would matter to me, because I really like this about WNY. I truly do believe that Bills Fans are the greatest fans of any team in any sport.

I would be especially happy for people such as #89 and cablelady. They take it to the limit. They don't have the technical knowledge of say Badolbilz, R.Rich, Lori, KTD, etc., but their hearts are there, and that is just as important.

My wife and 3 daughters are Bills Fans. Imo, it was a very positive thing for the kids. It taught them to stick to a cause, and that it isn't important to "run with the crowd." Millie IS a fan, but I think that some of it is simply to indulge me, which is OK too.

If the Bills ever DO get to the superbowl again, I DON"T want to go to the game. I want TBD to plan a party in WNY.

If they win, I am going to run outside and dive into a pile of snow. This is my plan, even if my wife is there to see me act like a fool. If they lose, I will continue to be a Bills fan until I am dead. True Bills Fans never give up.

This might be the best thing about being a bills Fan.

    Sorry to ramble.

    GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would give me peace of mind...The Scott Norwood debacle wouldn't hang over our heads anymore...And I'd be able to talk all the sh-- I want in drunk sports arguments with the bandwagon Panther fans surrounding me.....

  15. Has anyone seen this guy dominate consistently in games? Is he worthy of the #12 spot? I never saw him play other than the highlight reels on NFL Network. He is a 3 Technique which the Bills seem to have an over abundance of. He looks like a great pick but everything I read about him lately says "upside" for the positives, and the negatives are "Not very tough, does not have a high motor & takes plays off". I am always a bit concerned when players tend to skyrocket this much after the season (reminds me too much of Mike Mamula or Erik Flowers). I would love someone to convince me otherwise considering the need on the DL.

I'm still trying to forget that Erik Flowers actually existed...
