1. I got of the Royal bandwagon after the Titans game and his non-TD catch.

I don't think that is a legitimate reason to jump off the bandwagon. ik know ti was a STUPID play and can't be live that he didn't get it down but it didn't cost us a playoff spot or anything. I think he'll make sure to never to do it again. Hopefully he keeps on developing into a very prductive recieving tight end and I agrre with the statement above that Everett be given a fair chance at it. I think he can develop into something.

About the WR, besides Evans, the rest were kind of inconsistent and there is a major dropoff in production from Evans to the rest.

I like how Peerless played this year. I think he was very dependable. But, i think we need a taller posession reciever to start opposite of Lee to take off the double teams (even though they didn't really stop him anyways). Then put peerless in the slot, and I think that would be very good. I like Josh Reed too, I think he came along very well. The wild card is Roscoe Parrish? I like him as a speed threat and the punt returner but he only had 23 receptions and 2 touchdowns. I like his speed and quickness but he hasn't produced yet on the recieving end.

  2. I think we need a big DT but I don't know if there are any in the FA market. The good ones in the draft I think will be gone early and I think that we should use the 12 pick on the MLB from Ole Miss, Patrick Willis. Fletcher definitly isn't coming back and this guy is the ideal replacement. 6'2, 240 with 4.4, 4.5 speed. This guys is gonna be a true monster and if he falls to us, we would be clinically insane to pass him up. Also, we signed Tripplett last year (how long?) and drafted McCargo and Williams so I'm not sure how Marv's gonna approach that.

  3. I know we need a stud d tackle and I wish we could get one but I don't know is Marv is going to get one since we already got McCargo and Williams last year and just signed Tripplet. With that being said, I definitly think we need to get this guy to fill in for Fletcher cuz he is good as gone. Watch these two videos, these plays are sick and show you why we need to get him. He's fast, powerful, can tackle very well and we need his speed for the cover 2 at middle.

(this shows his speed to get the heisman runner up at the corner - listen to the announcers!)

 Patrick Willis in a Bills Uniform :)

  4. Well, the problem is finding a guard in the draft that will come in and be guaranteed a spot right from the start. Most players drafted will come in and have to compete for a spot, but this isn't saying he can't come in and replace Preston (who will probably be penciled in as a starter for training camp) during training camp

As for the LB comment, this is true, I tend to think the Bills will look for someone a bit bigger then Fletcher if they look for a new LB, and from all indications it looks like they will since Fletcher does not look like he will be returning after reading his comments. He doesn't seem to pleased he wasn't offered an extension during previous seasons

Yea we definitly need to get a bigger MLB than Fletcher. The extra height would be a huge difference in the passing game, which always hurt fletcher, just for starters. Definitly got to have that BIG presence in the middle

  5. Trying to see what the best option would be for the LB corps for next year. I think we let Fletcher go, get a new young MLB and leave the OLB's as Crowell and Spikes and see if Spikes can regain his play. If he can't, put in Ellison. But if he can, we have Ellison for Pass coverage and depth :o

  6. How is Ellison-Crowell-Spikes faster than Ellison-Spikes-Crowell?

Do you think Crowell would be a better MLB than Spikes?

I'm not sure about switching Spikes or Crowell to OLB cuz its a bigger switch than you think. All of the audibles and checks and plays go through the mlb and its a big responsibility. Also, playing it is much different from olb. Olb is all about coming in from the angles. MLB, you fight off centers and guards and fullbacks where olb's are more tight ends and fullbacks. They do see pulling guards and stuff but not like mlb's. I hope it would work so we could look elsewhere but I'm just not sure.

  7. First, draft Patrick Willis LB in the first round. Draft Brian Leonard RB in the 2nd round.

    FREE AGENTS:

Kelley Washington - WR - Cincinatti

Kris Dielman - RG - San Diego

Ian Scott - DT - Chicago

Aaron Smith - DE - Pittsburgh

    Any thoughts?

Yea Kelly washington I'm not sure about. Especially coming from the "Angel" like team of the Bengals, I dont think Marv would go after him. Dielman would be good but I'd guess he'd get re-signed by San Diego to keep their line intact after such a good season by LT. Ian Scott I'd rather not look at. If he was any good, he'd be making a diffference for the Bears right now but I think he's just a product of being around Tommy Harris. Aaron Smith could be a good addition but I think we need to focus on the DT position first for the d-line.

If leonard is there in the 2nd round I'd take him. I wouldnt go LB in the first. I'd see who else is available and if there's a standout G or DT or CB (that could step in right away) I'd go there. If not, maybe trade down for extra draft picks??...

    :censored:

  8. Yea I'm kind of torn about Fletcher. Sure he has 138 or whatever tackles and 96 solo, but most of them are 5 yards downfield or more. Yet, to defend fletcher, he doesn't have stud big defensive tackles like Ray lewis or Urlacher either. He is getting old but he didn't show any signs of slowing down this year. I tried to find the stats on his tackles for loss but couldn't (could anybody find em). He is the leader of the defense with spikes which is why I would overall keep him and get a big d tackle to take up some blockers.

    Any other opinions gents...?

  9. How about the develoment on Whitner and Simpson!! These two ROOKIE SAFETIES (one of the hardest positions to come into as a rookie) were very good at their job. they weren't ball hawking machines (YET) but with this yera under their belt, I think these two will be stars next year. They're the qb's of the secondary and I can't remember that last huge pass play they gave up. They looked a little shaky yesterday but the entire D did as well. I can't wait to see these two next year and what they can do!!!

    "Lets Go Buffalo!" '07

  10. I have not seen the play, so any of my comments should be taken with a grain of salt, but remember this is our blocking tight end.  I wish he got the second foot down, and maybe he should have, but after Roscoe's catch against the Jags and Price's against the Texans, I think we have gotten our fair share of toe tapping breaks, and can't hang Royal out to dry based on this one play.  He is not Gates or Gonzalez.  He is a solid tight end I am very happy to have.

    877847

I understand that view, but he had literally 3 yards to put his foot down. I'm still dumbfounded by the play

  11. I will agree with the arguments that Willis hasn't become hwat we expected but, I think next year, after another offseason with JP and that passing game and pretty much the same line, and the same system, I think we'll see a more productive Willis. If we don't, then we need to asses the situation but I think the offseason will finally catapult him to what he should be a superstar rb.(fingers crossed) :D

  12. Bingo. This team now has a starting TE--not sure I would have said that 7 weeks ago.

Still needs more work on defense. Get 'er done Marv.

    877828

Yea even though that was a :D play, I think he came along this year and he is an underrated part of our runblocking scheme. I think this boneheaded play will haunt and motivate him to redeem himself.

  13. Yea i think Johnson would be a good pick but i'm concerned about his injury issues. the 49ers drafted vernon davis for a reason so...

Also, signing nc is huge for us, hopefully he plays the same way next year.

Getting a stud DT in free agency or draft is more important than a WR but is Johnson from Georgia Tech or Samardzija from ND were on the board with no stud DT's, i'd take either one of them in a heartbeat.

Need another LB for depth and need a new fullback..shelton is done and the loss of him yesterday hurt the running game more than we realize.

Need to get rid of Gandy. Since day one I have said he stank and he has only proved my statement. Steinbech from the Bengals would be a great fit for the LG position and a new C would be good (fowler is a little weak and small). Also, maybe a new RG, not sure if preston is answer but we'll see next training camp.

Most pumped I've ever been for next year.

    Lets Go Buffalo '07 :D:doh::doh:

  14. I would in a heartbeat. Then peddle it to some sap club willing to fork over a fistful of Day 1 picks this draft and next.

    877812

Thats why Marv is the GM and you are not. Peters is a shutdown tackle ready to blossom next year and is on the team at a cheap price. He's the cornerstone of the line and you'd be willing to give him up for us to groom another tackle which could take another couple of years.

    :D:doh::doh:

  15. That one I'm not so sure about.  Thomas looked good this year when he filled in for Willis.  I hope Willis gets resigned and is still the #1 Rb, but there are rumors floating around the Bills community that he will be traded for a draft pick or a lineman.

    877750

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/gamelog?playerId=2586

I don't undertsand why everyone is calling for Thomas. he's a good spell back yes, but he is not better than Willis. His only good games were when willis was hurt against Green Bya and Indi, who have bad run defenses (both give up over 100 a game, and indi's is worse than ours). Willis is a good back and yes he does make some plays where you scratch your head but he also makes ones that you didn't think he could possibly get, like the screen play where he threw off the d lineman and that touchdown run against the jags a couple of weeks ago.

    :D:doh::doh:

  16. I was at the game in section 204 - he would have had a hell of a hard time making that kick - going for it was the right freaking call.

    877460

Well that makes sense since you were there but we shouldve definitly handled getting the right personel out there and play as well. Had to rush because of ineffective decision making. Whose fault is that you might ask? Dick's of course!!

  17. Please, one is a Porsche and the other is a Mustang, and not the Shelby Cobra GT 500 horse power kind.

    877502

I agree with you on that, but i agree with the guy up top because JP is athletic as hell and should definitly be used to run. He's not gonna do anything like superman did to us but he can easily add thta dimension to his game which would help us out alot more. Elway wasnt the fastest and neither were farve but they could run when they had too. Fairchild's gotta let JP go if he can. It not only keeps the defense honest but it can help minimize blitzes if JP can just step up and take off once in a while.

  18. IMO... That is just plain foolish...

Wow...Just as I suspected... No you don't take the ball in this case... I am, not clear on the rules... But, if you can... You take the wind in the 4th (under these conditons) @ the Ralph!

    Total mistake!

Bobby April had the FG unit going out, then called them back... Going the other way... RL would have had a great chance at the 45 yarder with a 20+ MPH wind at his back!

Here is BFLO's wild 8-8 playoff "in"... :wallbash:

    -Jets loses two to MIA/OAK

    -CIN loses to PITT

-MIA loses to INDY (not sure if this game is relevant, Bills tie-break MIA)

-KC v. JAX... NOT SURE HERE?

    -TENN loses to NE

-DEN loses to SF... Not sure if this is a relevant game also?

I am sure BFLO holds a tie-breaker with the other #6 seed wannbes...  Denver backs in at #5 (9-7 or 10-6)

If this scenario plays out... I know BFLO holds the tie-breaker for #6...  PITT is in the same boat as BFLO except that they need BALT to beat the good guys from WNY...

"The loss knocked the Bills out of playoff contention, dropping Buffalo to 7-8."

Thats what it said on ESPN so we're out officially, to answer that.

To talk about Jauron being outcoached, HE WAS 100% OUTCOACHED! The Bills had no answer all day for anything the Titans threw or ran at us (they gained 98 total last week against Jax, they had over 100 in the 1st quarter). Also, you always take the wind for the 2nd and 4th. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS! Ive played my whole life and you never not take it in such a windy environment as the Ralph. Also, in the 4th on that 3rd and 1 where we threw the ball! WHat was that??!! We didn't use willis nearly enough in the second half as we couldve. Also, on the last possession, if Jauron knew or thought he was gonna go for it, he shouldve had a better play on third down and shouldve relayed th eplay to JP on 4th much quicker! Jauron had a very very very poor coaching job today in the biggest one of the year. Inexcusable.

  19. Yea i noticed spikes not killing henry on the sideline and getting stiffarmed badly and also missing that tackle when he had him wrapped up but i still think that he can get himself back with another offseason of rehab and hard work. We all know he will work his ass off to get back. I'm hoping and holding on to the belief that he can.

I miss the old TKO!

  20. The best - BEST - part about this weekend (assuming a big win, and a few Christmas presents like Miami and Jax losing) will be when the dust settles, and we're 8-7.....and have a real shot at it.......the BEST part is going to be ALL next week watching a lot of national media types having to (a) even MENTION the Bills and (b) gag while they actually ponder the possibility that THEY'VE BEEN FRIGGIN' WRONG WRONG WRONG.

I'm predicting a couple of heart attacks on the air.

    873104

I can't wait for Berman to tell em all that they shouldve atleast acknowledged it as a possibility. I am so pumped for these next two games. i haven't been this pumped since the Steelers debacle, (which i was present at and completely heartbrken after seeing we would have been in), but I am even more pumped and actually have faith this time. i think we've grown to a point as a team that we can actually do this. Plus, I think Dick will keep them focused to get the job done one at a time.

    LETS GO BUFFALO!!!!!!!
