  1. ESPN Insiders say the Bills will go 6-10. Now I know I drink the Kool-aid every year but I don't see them being that bad.

Nothing against you....But who cares what anyone else thinks! But we definitely did not get worse than last year. And we were a play or two away from being 10-6! I dont pay any attention to these writers. 90% of them have no clue about this team whatsoever.

  2. This is character. You cant teach character.

    I agree with this totally!

Thanks Tyrod.... After reading this I am going to suit up Sunday in my Zumba pants, and my son's old Bills replica helmet and crush someone....anyone...even if the wife crosses my path she is getting drilled! LOL (have fun with that last statement boys)......But in all seriousness I believe Tyrod has never been more ready for anything! Lets get a W so we can blow up Ralph WIL....(damnit I said I wasnt going to do that anymore) New Era Field come Thursday! 500 mile drive from Chicago to Orchard Park is a ton better 1-0!

  3. I love your enthusiasm, Ben. I know that feeling and get it on opening day like Mrags said.

I heard you on the postgame. I figured it was you from what you were saying - section 138. But, now I know it was you. Very cool!

That is to cool dude. You can tell I love my bills. Ills sit through that weather every day just to do that. That will never change!

  4. NOW WHY PICK ON THE 80S?, IN THE SEVENTIES fans CARRIED CASES OF BEER IN THE STADIUM WITH NO HASSLES, parking lots were like breweries

IN THE SIXTIES fans RECYCYLED BY GIVING THE PLAYERS THE CANS during the games ,albeit some were still full at the time and in some cases the players were looking somewhere else..

one of my funniest bills memories was a raiders game in the 80s when all the beer cans we stuck in the snow under the seats started exploding .it was like minus 20 wind chill that day.just as we," the bills" scored a td .. lost a 6 pack all at once ,total mess but absolutely hilarious

as far as now ...... you can do knitting in the parking lots or the stadium .. no hassles.

place is kinda morbid these days , most fans now are alot tamer..

fairly good list of eats for ya there .good luck enjoy the game

    People for for Christ's Sake!!!!

    Haha.

I said I was going to make a nice thread about places to go and things to do after the last time someone wanted advise. Needless to say, I never got around to it. Depends in what you want to do, what you want to eat, what kind of budget your on.

Quick version of more famous places to eat in Buffalo for your trip.

Chefs- Downtown, get the Spaghetti Parm. Amazing. 10-15 per person.

Buffalo Chop House- Downtown, probably the best steak in Buffalo. Make reservations. Have t been there in a while. Anywhere from 50-100 per person.

Duffs- Orchard Park, Cheektowaga, Amherst. Amherst is the best. The original. Best wings in Buffalo. Cheap, 10-15 per person.

Anchor Bar- Downtown. Alright wings. You go there for the experience of being at the place they all started. Cheap.

Jim's Steak Out- Drunk food, all over the place. Cheap. Open til 5am. Get the chicken finger sub or the steak Hoagy. It just get the Stinger. It's both in one.

Mighty Taco- All over. Cheap. Open late but not as late as Jim's. El Niño Burrito is a nice choice. Probably not a good idea BEFORE the game though if you know what I mean.

Teds Hot Dogs- All over. Cheap. Get a foot long with everything on it. You won't regret it. Cheap

Charlie the Butcher- Cheap, near the airport, Cheektowaga, Williamsville border. Beef on Weck is the play here.

There's many more. But this should give you some ideas and some things for people to chime in on. I'm off to work so ill say ill write up a post when I get out about all the spots, but I probably won't. Hope you enjoy your time here and don't believe all the whining people. It's really not that bad. But you being to many games in your life and coming here for the first time can be the judge. Would love to hear what you think when your done.

    Enjoy.

Wow what a great experience and what great people in WNY.

We arrived around 2:30 pm in Hamburg. Stayed at the Comfort Or Quailty in on southwestern. And then unpacked and drove right to the stadium.

First thing that struck me is the stadium is in the middle of a suburban town. (kind like Wrigley without the downtown feel). On the day before I was able to park right behind the Welcome the Ralph sign across the street from abbot rd. (I believe that’s right). I was able to get out and walk around free with no one bothering me at all. Which is weird because I have never been able to do such a thing around other venues. The stadium looked great and got the chills seeing it for the first time what a wonderful experience. I talked to a few passer bays for tips and great info on spots to park. We then went out to the Anchor bar didn’t really do much for me but again great to say we ate at the Original spot the Wing started. Then we went to Niagara and that was wonderful for the wife and me to experience. Beautiful Drive through buffalo and seen all the beautiful buildings and workmanship. The beautiful Green lit bridge at night was a great touch. What a wonderful area and I loved every minute of it!

The Rain hampered things a bit for The day But I must give my woman full credit for sticking it out all the way with me. She a trooper! We of course had to pony up the 8 dollars apiece for the bills raincoats. Cool to keep though, (Wanted the 24 dollar white ones that are thicker. They were out)! We then went to the field house where I sat and listened to WGR for a bit and I must admit I loved that part. I listen all the time to the bills radio, 97 rock (yuck) Now WGR has them and I love the and The John Murphy show. So to see Howard Simon and Joey B doing the pre-game was a treat. I then waited for Joey B to come down and I talked to him for a bit. And I swear to God he knew who I was from my accent, He said your Ben from Chicago and you call in all the time! I swear that made my whole day right there! Cool stuff!

    Game time:

Entering the gates was great. Walking to see the Buffalo behind Russerts monument was great! The tunnel walk to the seats still gives me CHILLS. That stadium is freaking awesome. I love it. And I hope to god they don’t build somewhere else. But if they do. I seen it! LOL. That tunnel walk and seeing the Bills Endzone and then the Charging Buffalo Emblem, I cant describe it!

I have great videos of the game and I will post . Great video of the Bills Shout song after CJ's 42 yd scamper to the house!

Dislikes: The fans who left after half time shame on you!

Wasnt packed as I would like.

No vomiting or fights of any kind that I seen. But alot of people peeing in bushes, again something I see all the time nothing new!

Fouls language all around but I really don’t care! I have a foulmouth and let Bull**it slip a few times on those phantom PI calls. Yes a few were bad!

The Huge steps going to the seats! If anyone has been drinking to much who do they ever do it. I stumbled and I was drinking Hot chocolate!

Everything else was wonderful. I loved every minute of it and I miss it already! I swear to god I would get season tickets right now, and spend every minute at the ralph, I have seen Chicago literally not kidding 90 something times. Grandfather has season tickets for years! I’ve seen Indy, Tennesee, Cleveland, Cinni. Nothing compared to see the Ralph. I hope to God that team stays there, If they do Im going to be your new neighbor. The area is wonderful (Hamburg) You guys as people are absolutely wonderful, Nice, Tough, Hard Working people and it shows on your sleeve. What brings us together is the passion for that damn football team. Now lets go support them, spend a little money and help that team do something more than 13 years of nothing! I was 19 when the last made the playoffs. Something Good is going to happen soon I feel it. When it does im All in on A full season Package, (besides the ROAD game in Toronto!)

    Well there it is!

Wish I could of found Hammers lot but as soon as game day hit and I see the RV's and fans coming in, I had to park ASAP.

Till next time Buffalo. I loved it, SEE YOU SOON< VERY SOON

  5.

Yes, but at Hammers lot I've read that he allows ex-Bills to tailgate there. You may end up stuck next to the guy(s). So be prepared with a camera in case some tool calls ya a liar.

Who else tailgates in hammers lot. I. For sure am parking there. Is it first come first serve? Can I park there the night before? Just curious! Man all we need is a win on Sunday! Countdown begins at midnight. 1 week and counting!

  6. It's simple really: you are a suburb dude, and you know it. Those of us that aren't, we know it. We aren't going to unknow what we know to make you happy. I don't dislike you. I simply know good vs. crap, and I know when I'm being sold crap based on nothing more than pretense.

And, for the record, I am an all night partier, I have refused to wear a watch ever since I got my first work-issued pager, Jim's is nowhere near the best drunk food in town, and only a real all night partier knows why Mother's is unique in this regard.

Cops eat at the The Towne, too, and that beats the hell out of Jim's. But, really? Why would I ever use "where cops eat" as a guide...to anything? The upside is: late night, you won't find the insanity at the The Towne, and the cops can be funny at times.

Anyone who's ever been to Mother's knows why I would suggest it...as an alternative to the Chop House, not Chefs.

There is no shortage of dweebish boors that eat at the Chop House for no other reason than saying so. This is not unique to Buffalo, but that doesn't make it any less irritating. I could eat there every night. I could also give money to the same bum I see every day.(who lives in an apartment, 5 blocks away, and has enough $ to hit a certain nearby bar, every night.) In both cases, I'd be a sucker, or, I'd be more interested in telling people how cool I am for doing either, than actually getting value for my $.

The difference is: I live here most days, so, I see these things. It's an over time thing, not a point in time thing.

I would think that you would appreciate someone telling you "No, in fact The Emperor is standing there in his underwear". Or, perhaps "dude, this sauce tastes like it comes from a SYSCO can". These things are useful to know.

If you had a booger on your nose, I would tell you. If you talk about Chop House...I am telling you.

    So...what?

Thanks. I think I have settled on the Anchor Bar. But I need help on the hotel. How is the Quality Inn In Hamburg? I have the choice of that and the Comfort in Suites Downtown. Comfort in had the TGI Fridays in it so I can drink and not worry about driving or getting busted. But it seems like the Quality INN in Hamburg is closer. Both about the same price. Just need to book by Friday! Any help here on the hotels? Cant help but think of Brady when im doing this!

Got the rental car, got the gas, got the tickets! Just need to make mind up about room.

Also is the parking in the hammers LOT 25$ or 45$ ive read 2 different prices?

I hope I feel as home in buffalo as I think I will. Something is telling me to take my business and start something out there where I can bring some jobs there. I work for The Bills leading sponsor. Our buddy over the border. If all goes well on this trip and I like some property I want to look at, I might be your neighbor! LOL

  7. Today's Moment of Faith: Message in a bottle found by Plattsburgh woman: Go Yankees

I hope that we can gather up some karma and beat the Colts. I don't want to hex us, but I think we can win. These kids deserve it, and so do we.

PS: I didn't write this. My daughter found it for me. I struggle enough with my , "thoughts." LOL

    GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After your read the article they hope the bills stay a team and win the superbowl. Then no mention of the bills in the article at all. Rest of article is about the Yankees.. from the statement go Yankees... the writer probably has no idea who the bills are.

I do agree about beating Indy. We can do it. I think the colts will be stuck on the pats dropping 59.

  8. Theres answers to all of that for the most part.

    1. Go into the stadium at least 45 minutes before kickoff. You lose a little but of tailgating but at the same time you have just enough time to get in, get to the bathroom, grab a beer and a snack and get to your seat just in time for the opening intros. You don't have to deal with the drunk idiots that waited until the last minute to get in vecauae they just had to finish that last keg stand and you won't miss the first 10 minutes of the game. You also won't get to your seats to find some fat 300lb slob hunched over puking all over himself in your seat.

    2. If you are already in your seat and people around you moving around and switching seats with one another bothers you, then you are too worried about them. If other people are not watching the game and that bothers you, then you apparently have other problems.

I just fixed almost all the problems by informing you to go into the stadium 45 minutes early instead of waiting until 10 minutes before gametime. There is 70,000+ other people there trying to get in to see the game ya know. And not all of them are there for the game. Some of them were given tickets or really only like to go for the parking lot parties. Either way, they shouldnt effect your experience.

You say that like its a bad thing? I've lived downtown and in the burbs. I grew up in the burbs. Lived downtown in my 20s and now I'm in my 30s and live in the burbs again.

And ya, they have a chance. Last time anyone checked they are not mathematically eliminated yet. In fact, they almost hold thier own fate at this point if they were to win out.

Yea ill be in the stadium as soon as the gates open. I want to see the stadium and take pics. Im not there to party. Im there to help bring the bills a win. With Pittsburgh losing and colts losing, good things are happening. We better beat Indy, to make this game even more important. Might go to colts game too. Only a hour away!

  9. People for for Christ's Sake!!!!

    Enjoy.

Thanks man. I seen the anchor bar on Thursday night. They were doing the panning shots there before and after commercials. (Damn jets just scored) im staying at best western in downtown. Looks nice and got a good deal. Il be thinking of brady when I check in...lol. im not worried at all about the crowd. Im gonna be with 65 thous buddies. Some wasted so what. Not like its gonna be the first. I appreciate ur help and will let u know of outcome. How is section 138? That's where we are sitting! I can't wait man... getting there sat afternoon to see outside of stadium and soak it in.

Don't let the local headlines scare you. Besides, you will be wearing the hometown colors. You will be one of the family. I agree with the tip you should park over by the field house. I have the had the best tailgating over there. You have access to the NFL experience and bathroom. Plus, you can get out of the stadium easier.

It could have change but the Bills used to hotel at the Millennium Hotel Buffalo in the Walden Galleria the Saturday before the game. About 6 pm, the players start coming in and they will sign autographs and get a photo op with your favorite player.

Food .. No worries. It is everywhere. I don't know where your hotel is but I am know there are plenty of choices. Day of the game, you can get your tailgating supplies at Wegman's right down the road from the stadium (by the Mickinley Mall) or Tops (even closer).

Wow great info here. Hope they do stay at that hotel. I already am going to go to wegmans to get some goodies... maybe we can all meet up before the game and share some stories! By the way are cigarettes expensive in that area per pack. Just need to load up before trip. My wife is saying smokes are 8 bucks a pack. Is that true?

  10. Ok so I and my wife are making our first trek to the Ralph! im pumped up and everything is in line. Just a few things before we make our trek (picked jacksonville game for obvious reasons). Just a couple notes: Every stadium in the NFL has rowdy fans. Ive been to Indy, I have been to hundreds of bears games (grandfather season tickets holder since 72). I have been to Cleveland, and Tennessee. Every time I have had opposing fans in my face. I have seen Jimbos jersey in the walkway at Indy, where everyone wiped their feet on the jersey, Picked it up and stuffed it in my backback and kept it till this day unwashed framed in my football room. I live and Die Buffalo Bills football. I feel good so far even though things havent been the best for Wanny and the D.

    My main point is......

Every NFL city has its issues whether it be littering at tailgating, or excessive drinking it happens everywhere in every sporting event acroos the WORLD. Does it happen more in Buffalo, maybe. Why is everyone pinned on Buffalo being so horrible? Have any of you seen the other NFL stadiums? Im 32 and been Die hard Bills fan in a city where people look at me weird for wearing bills colors to bears home games, I finally get to sit with 70,000 screaming fans at the Ralph! But I will be damned sure I dont get obliterated with alcohol so I can actually remember this experience. My wife is worried! Deaths after games, fights in stands, people puking on each other. I have been escorted to the FAGEN security a few times not for curseing, or pucking on the elderly fan next to me. But for saying Jesus Chri*t in the stands when a flag was thrown on Hester in last years Bears Jets game. The lady in front of me turns around and says, excuse me my lord and me dont need to hear your blasphemy. What! if you wanted God go to church on Sundays.

Ok last thing! Where should we eat at on sat night. What is a cool place to eat and chill with fellow Bills fans the night before? Any Chance to see a player somewhere better than another? What lot should we park in? Any pointers would be fine.

Im telling you the Pats will beat Indy this Sunday, We will beat Indy on the 25th, which Ill be at and I will be there to see Cj run all over the Jags. We have a chance fellas as weird as this season has gone. We just got a Huge divison win! D looks better! Im pumped, garbage, littering, curseing, alcohol, fights aside. Its a reg Sunday at a NFL venue. Ill just be in the old Rockplie Living my Dream!

    Thoughts

  11. Strange he looked good vs min..... Injured again?

I dont know if we watched the same game, but Merriman didnt even get snaps with the first or second team. That alone should tell you something right there. Also when he did get in he was stood up at the line by 3rd and 4th team players, He lost it and will never get it back. Buffalo did him a favor by getting rid of him. He will never fit in to Wannys new system!

Or the Pats. HGH like soda pop there.

    PTR

I agree. Someone in the east is looking at him allready. My bet is the Jets. Week 1 matchup, tell me everything you know about this offense and defense! Thats worth the price to Rexy!

Wow... WTF? There's obviously more going on behind the scenes none of us can know about, but I thought for sure, with all the time and effort we put into this reclamation project, we'd at least have him on the field this year to see how he really was. And all indications were good? There's definitely more to this story and I'm sure we'll hear about it soon.

    Maybe!

I see this differently, the Bills treat players very well and try to give them every opportunity to succeed. He doesn't fit their scheme so they're giving him an opportunity to try somewhere else, much like Jasper.

    Full story

    I agree 100%!

First Jasper, now Merriman. I'm so done with this team.

    PTR

I was going to wait for Brooks to get released before I sell my tickets!

This is allready on 16 pages! I received the text at like 9. I guess this is confusing. I admit I was taken back from this. But at the same time it shows that our coaching staff actually for one time since Marv (maybe Wade Phillips). That know excatly what they have in our players, and what they are capable of. And Merriman was obviously Overpaid and Underachieved than others on the squad! Id rather see Spencer Johnson on the end than Merriman any day. This is actually good news that after 2 years of hopes of "lights out" past, all that hope we dont even need anymore cause we are upgraded with a few drafts that this coaching staff has put together. Good Luck Merriman! Too bad he riddled his body with Roids! He was naturally a special talent, unfortunately he didnt understand this!

  12. Do I really have shoutbox on my DROID? Have I been missing something all along? Also can someone please tell me how I can see the details of my warning point. I click on more details but see nothing. Can someone please advise! This by far is the best site for the best fans in football. This is by far the best source of Bills news. I appreciate everything you do.

  13. I was thrown completely off guard when I was being put on the air with John & Chris (wasn't expecting that at all). I figured I would have been put on air sometime after Chris' interview was over with. It was very cool being able to talk with both John & Chris last night.

woo who! he gave me a shout out!

I was able to ask chris a question as well live. I have it here since i was able to record it on my phone using Bills APP. I loved where he said the most important news is going to get back our injured players we missed. I then asked for the circle the wagons together, Which brought a chuckle from both of them. Enjoy, From the biggest bills fan in Chicago! Darn it wont let me attach my audio file of my call, oh well

  14. Not to call you out because I agree with most of what you wrote, but as someone who considers themselves the biggest bills fan I would like to let you know Hardy is no longer in the NFL. That being said, go Bills. 11-5 is too modest. 38-0 (19-0 is too easy to call)

Thanks for the correction! I was seriously thinking Easley. I had a conversation with my cousin in Bloomington where he is staying in Hardys old apt. Sorry!

Great post up until then. I would challenge those remarks! LOL.

    Challenge made.... lol

    ( now to prove it)

  15. I'm disappointed in the comments made here so far, it shows a serious lack of vision. If you can't see the serious progress this team has made then you simply cannot see. Billieve in this team. Period, point blank.

Not oversensitive, just reacting to your sniveling, negative comments all around the board to try to fire people up. And I fail to see how proximity to your home town has anything to do with it.

Ok, now this is getting annoying because you are just so wrong!

The location of Bills' fans has no relevance into our ability to have accurate opinions about the team that Nix and Gailey have been building. And, as someone who has moved away from Buffalo for work purposes, I would never raise a critical voice of those who have been fortunate enough to live in Western New York all of their lives. The slighting of those posters and fans is perhaps reflective that the critic has nothing substantial to base his negativity on so he goes after residents of Buffalo.

Those who understand football and what kind of players it takes to produce a winning team cannot dispute that the Bills' current roster has "our team (Now, paint it appears that the Buffalo Bills are not your team but most of us on this board are Buffalo Bills' fans.)" poised to have a major breakout year in 2012. Most of us are realistic enough to understand that injuries can turn a team totally around, which is what occurred last season. Any team that loses key players for the season will also see their win column being reversed from its potentiality.

We are in June ... the OTA's are happening ... training camp is weeks away ... all but one of our draft picks is signed ... we made the second biggest free agent signing of the NFL Spring ... key players are recovering from surgeries at a faster pace than anticipated ... this is the time of year for true fans to have their cups overflowing and to be at our highest level of optimism.

The good news is ... this defense combined with Fitz's leadership, our O-line, our RB's and yes even our WR's allow us to clearly see that this Bills team is ready to get all of us up and SHOUTING come September with the playoffs finally being a realistic expectation rather than a pipe dream requiring luck ...

OK... I usually do not comment on these boards, for the simple reason of individuals coming here just to piss people off cause their life sucks that bad.

But I have to ask what in gods name are these newbies smoking while coming here to post comments on some POSITIVE news for once. I have been seriously coming to TBD since its inception. (Obviously had a few member names). And I cannot remember a time where I am more excited for a season since the damn mcm season. I have been to plenty of bills games across the country, and I am seriously moving there for the 2013 season and will get season tickets at the Ralph. I am a business owner. And plan on bringing some jobs to the Buffalo area. I have lived in Chicago all my life and have season tickets to the Bears. But I am the biggest bills fan and I am just as credible a fan as anyone in Western NY. Anyone who thinks that is not possible might wanna think outside the box for once. Or at least outside of little Buffalo. Anyway....

For anyone to think that Brady, Bellicheat, or Rex are not deeply thinking how to stop this front four on d is wrong. This team on d is so much closer to being that perrinal powerhouse. I honestly ask this. Name a better d-line that has been better (on paper) than that 85 bears d-line with dent and crew. I know we haven't played a real snap yet. But.. ... Kyle W, Super Mario, Big ASS Dareus, and Mark Anderson. The additions of our draft picks and our offense back with Freddy, Wood, (hopefully Hardy) etc etc has made me more optimistic with this season since the last time we were in the playoffs. Thats gonna end this year. Bills go 11-5 and make the playoffs. Remember this come Jan. From the Bills biggest fan IN CHICAGO.....LOL

  16. Why in gods name would you with under 3 minutes left in the game fun a fade pattern to stevie when the same play was picked eariler in the game. This game is on fitzy and chan. there is no reason to run that play on first down. if stevie wants the ball then tell him to get open on 2nd and 3rd downs. we should of won this game hands down. fitz lost the game for use with poor decisions..also with those two horrible picks and the sack when he should of threwn it away. man o man...time to regroup and hit em hard after the bye week...get healthy bills....go cowboys
