  1. Nate Clements...veyr good corner, never a Pro-Bowler....

London Fletcher: Tackling machine, very good LB.

Willis McGahee: Self proclaimed great RB, had a great 1/2 season plus great games against the Jets, otherwise not much else.

Can you all tell me just how much the Bills accomplished WITH these players????

So if you are down about Marv not bringing back NC or LF, what if they did, but yet neglected the OL YET again??

The Bills defense was poor last year with those guys, how can it get much worse without them???

Plus the offseason is NOT over yet, and we still have the NFL Draft to assess.

Both sides of the ball need fixing, glad to see at least Marv and Co. took big strides into fixing the OL.

one of the things that I am surprised I have not heard on here much if that fact that if our O-fence improves our D will too along with it. Does any buddy remember watching the past 7-8 seasons where we had so many 3 and out's our D was just warn all to hell by the end of the game and the started lacking. I am not saying that our new line is going make our D dominate in every game but the better the line, the better the run and pass, means more first downs, means more ball control, means more of our D starters staying in the game without having to go to our second string as much, means better players on the field.

    Raiders | Contract update: Griffith

    Fri, 9 Mar 2007 19:44:58 -0800

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders FB Justin Griffith signed a three-year contract worth $3.8 million.

I don't think we were going to get him anyway. Speedy, but not that great of a blocker.

O no i live in ATL (i hate the falcons by the way) and falcons fans have nothing but good things to say about him. I was hoping we would get him and it looks to me he came kinda cheep.

  3. they asked him how bad he wanted out of buffalo and he pretty much just laughed. said he had alot more help from his team in college. insinuated that there was no winning mentality in buffalo. playing there was a learning process. said shocked about his deal in baltimore(7 years $40 million i believe). said he will train in baltimore(like he didnt do when he was in buffalo). not that its relavent but he also wants to take a trip to africa

sorry if this is posted already, i was typing as i was listening to it.

Nice he is going to train in Bal the way he did BUF we just need to mix the plays up a bit because he wont know what play he is suppose to run.

  4. Lynch falling to #12 could happen, but Marv won't like the character issues.

Willis dropping to our second rounder seems unlikely. But moving up like we did for McCargo with one of the extra picks is very possible if the personnel are right. I would be very very surprised if we come out of the draft with those two, but it could happen.

Ok with that said can you give me a little more help. If we don't get lynch in the 1st who are some possibilities for later picks but can still be a starting RB or split time but still get a good bit in? Again I don't keep up with college football.

  5. FACT: The Bills have sucked for the better part of a decade.

FACT: The Bills O-line has sucked for the better part of a decade.

The best thing this team could do is get some quality o-lineman in here. They did that. Rome wasn't built in a day.

    AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have too much potential QB (in my opinion) and a great WR core (also with tons of potential) to let go to waste. We have not had an offense in years. This year will be different. As for our D we are good up front and two good safties that can be great this year with more experience under their belts.

Also FA is not over. And then we have the draft. Look what Marv did for our D last year in the draft.

  6. Honestly, I dont know why they soured so quickly on CB in Nashville, but I have a close friend who used to work for the Titans, next time we talk Ill try to clarify. In the past he has enlightened me as to what was why certain players werent reaching potential (Tank Williams/Tyrone Calico: both tried to come back from knee injuries too quickly) and over a year ago he told that Pacman was "a freakin clown". So Im sure he would have some insight.

I would feel plenty good about the Brown/Rhodes backfield except for the fact that both are somewhat injury proine, but then again its not like Willis and A-train are ironmen.

It would be especially good for a 1-season or so thing. I do think it would be best to pick up a back on day 1 though if McGahee isnt going to be our long term guy, because its priceless to be able to have a set of "triplets"

I say we have AT WM CB and DR just have them all battle it out best man wins. haha j/k

  7. I know that he was on "the wrong side of 30" but I also think that this team will miss the leadership and consistency of London. He was our defensive QB and was the heart and soul of that unit. Those qualities are not easily replaced, especially by a rook. In all of our Oline additions, I think this will be the greatest subtraction, more so than Clements.

Sorry but I have another dumb question. Where did LFB go I did not see a post on him getting signed anywhere else?

  8. Not at the start of the season...then they were mid-to-lower SOS. The terrific final season records of SD and CHI, along with the improved showings of BAL, TEN, and NYJ vaulted them up.

This only proves my point better accept the Chi game. Yes we played CHI the 5th game, kinda early before there "terrific final season records" but the BAL, TEN, SD, and NYJ games were 4 of the last 5 games. I mean we lost to the NYJ early and then won during there "improved showings". Yes we did lose to SD and TEN and BAL but they were close games and it was during the strong part of their season. The Bills were shaky early but they were playing "easier teams". They started winning more later while playing harder teams. That makes their SOS underrated. It is obvious the reason the Bills ended as good as they did was the move at OL. They had a better OL and Losman was better and the team put themselves in chances to win the game. They lost some but they did pull out some the OL move was a great one and was a huge impact on the late season success.

  9. These are just ballpark figures, and some of them may be a little low, some high, and I rounded off to the near million. But these are close.

    Triplett - 8 mil

    Royal - 5 mil

    Bowen - 2 mil

    Peerless - 4 mil

    Josh - 5 mil

    Reyes - 2 mil

    A. Thomas - 1 mil

    K. Thomas - 1 mil

    A. Davis - 1 mil

    Nall - 4 mil

So about 30-33 million ballpark. But that was ten guys, including one of our own, in Josh. This year they are thinking of half that many, perhaps 5. So you can double the contracts and get better players. It's not wholly bad, but it rules out guys like Steinbach and Nate, and probably any of the top guards and LBs, except perhaps June.

    Thanks a lot!!!

  10. It doesn't sound like they are too interested in competing for Clements, Fletcher etc on the open market which is no surprise since Ralph has been whining about money since last season.

Marv also made it sound like the Bills aren't too interested in making a big splash in free-agency but he sounded like they will go out and sign a few Robert Royals instead.

Marv didn't give anyone the impression that the Bills are ready to do what ever it takes to get this team to the next step which wasn't a good PR move since the team just raised ticket prices but needs to renew season tickets.

I rarely agree with the guys on GR55, but they hit the nail on the head when they said that it was a very depressing presser.

Seeing that the Bills have a much tougher schedule next season, be prepared for a step backwards in '07.

"Seeing that the Bills have a much tougher schedule next season, be prepared for a step backwards in '07." How is that they had the hardest strength of schedule last year.
