  1. Let me get this straight ... You're pissed at Don Beebe so you want to light innocent kids on fire? Who's the **** here?

Those kids aren't innocent if they're hanging around the likes of Don Beebe.

I ran into him a couple of years ago and he walked up to my grandmother and punched her in the face and said, "take that Buffalo!, and I mean the whole city! There's nowhere to eat except Applebee's and all the women are ugly!". While he was saying this he was repeatedly kicking her. Then he ran off to Toronto. At least in that general direction.

  2. Ya'll should read his some of his business bio on his website. He has a degree in civil engineering and owned his own enginnering/construction firm before it was bought out. The company that bought him out then made him a VP and Chief Development Officer.

I didn't know he came from Walker Construction in Walterboro, SC. If ya'll remember the movie Radio, that's either where he's from or where they shot the movie, I can't remember between the two.

He sounds like a real smart dude.

  3. It's funny, I have a lawyer buddy who does some work for the Chargers and the owner's family. He ran into Smith at a meet and greet and thought he was a great guy. He then heard some horror stories from some employees a couple weeks later. The main description was he was a guy who can't let things go and is always thinking someone's out to get him.

Maybe some of you have had better experiences and of course it was second hand info.

  4. Why don't people on this board like Peterson?

At #12 he'd be the best player on the board and he'd be at a position of need. His injury history is nothing compared to McGahee or Bush. The risk reward on him over Irons or the kid from PSU is unbelievable. Patrick Willis is not the end all be all of ILB prospects, he just happens to be pretty good at a position of need. Adrian Peterson could be something special at a position of need.

We can get a good ILB in the 2nd. Use the 3rds on a CB and DT. Maybe pick up Ian Scott or Nick Harper in free agency.

I don't want to start the season with Anthony Thomas as our starting RB.

  5. It's funny, I went to every home game he ever played at NC State and I come away feeling the exact opposite of how you viewed him.

His ability to shoot gaps and create havoc in the backfield was unreal while he was with State. He not a behemoth run stopper, that was Tank Tyler's job. If you look at how productive Mario Williams was when McCargo was on the field / off the field, you'd be shocked. A lot of Williams sacks / TFL were guys that had been flushed out by McCargo. He might not have received the stats, but he sure deserved some credit. There's a reason he started on the DL as a RS-Freshman.

This guy was an unrecruited HS fullback that Amato found while recruiting Virginia (his only other scholarship was to James Madison) and brought him in and converted him to DL, so he hasn't been playing it very long. Spent his RS year and RS-Fr year alternating between DT and DL before putting on enough weight to handle DT fulltime. Give him some time.

His only real negative are that he can be injury prone. People on this board have a negative view on him because we traded up for him and he got hurt.

Saw him during the offseason and spoke with him, he seems to be in good spirits and in good health. I think we will all be very happy with his production this year.

  6. Living in Charlotte and Raleigh all my life, I've only seen five Bills games in person my entire life. I've been rooting for this team since 1985 and I was seven years old.

It kills me when I see posts like this. You don't know how good you've got it. I'd have season tickets and renew even if they went 0-16 and hired a monkey to be GM. Hopefully someone who appreciates the team and the its place in the city will take your tickets.

  7. OR keep Willis

    1. Jammal Anderson De

    2. Brian Leonard FB

    3. Josh Wilson CB

    4. Manny Ramirez OG

add Drew Bennent WR to free agency list

send Carolina a 4th rd 2008 pick for Ken Lucas CB - Carolina is looking for cap space and Lucas is going to make 3.2 mil for 07 which is a lot for the 3rd CB - behind Chris Gambling and Richard Marshal.

I don't think the Panthers will give up Lucas for a 4th, but I do think he would be a good addition. Not as good as keeping our 4th round pick and resigning Nate, though.

No way in heel would I blow a 4th round pick on Ramirez, he can't even cover left field any more, but he can hit, so draft him in the six and convert him to LB.

  8. maybe he shouldn't have celebrated so much over his TD run.

Getting injured while hot dogging is pretty bad.

He wasn't hurt when he was hot dogging, he was hurt when every member of tOSU football team and marching band jumped on him because they all thought when you take the opening kick back in the BCS championship game, you automatically win.

  9. Manny and Mario were the keys to that line. I am a huge Wolfpack fan, and I can honestly say when McCargo got hurt as a Junior, nobody batted an eyelash as he was not that good. He did have some flashes as a senior, but that was due to so much attention being paid to Mario and Manny. I was shocked when Marv took Witner, but understood the choice. When he traded back into the first round and took McCargo, I had to turn the TV off for a couple minutes while I went to vomit.

You follow the Pack? McCargo didn't show any flashes as a senior. He was rookie with the Bills during his senior year. He did redshirt though. He was in Hall, Washington, and Lawson's recruiting class.

McCargo is a penetrating DT, he doesn't stuff the run, he never has, one of the main reasons Lawson and Williams were so successful was due to the fact that McCargo could penetrate and completely disrupt the pocket flushing the QB or RB out. He also took up space and blocking that allowed Stephen Tulloch to thrive as well as he did as an undersized LB. Tulloch essentially disappeared during his sophmore season when McCargo was hurt.

For his size his athleticism in the trenches in great. He has a lot to learn in the NFL, but if he is used right he's gonna be a good DT for the Bills. People forget that he was a fullback in HS that Manny Diaz found and convinced Amato that he could work out at DT or DE.

I've been a season ticket holder at NC State for years and McCargo's loss was a big as Williams and Tulloch. If anyone was overrated on State's team it was Lawson, as he was so athletically superior to most ACC right tackles and took advantage of the constant one on one match-ups he would face. People forget that Lawson was a bulked up OLB/TE who the friggin' two time defending ACC long jump champion.

That said, I hope all four of those guys (Williams, Lawson, McCargo, and Tulloch) are successful in the NFL.
