Really? Whaley's track record is racist because he hasn't hired a minority head coach? Come on Jauronimo, I've been reading your posts for a while and I know you understand that professional football is a meritocracy. Doug Whaley, or any other NFL general manager for that matter, is going to hire the candidate he sees as the best candidate to build a winner and therefore ensure stability for the organization and said general manager. Calling his track record racist is a bit inflammatory.

Of course I'm watching, I'm a Bills fan. I've lived and died with them since 1966. We have a chance at a winning record for the first time in a decade. We have a chance to beat Brady and Belicheat for the first time at Gillette. I think this game tells us a great deal about the immediate future of the Bills. I think Marone has this team playing for him, but if they mail it in this afternoon it's time for another coaching change. Let's Go Buffalo! Today you show what you're made of.

Do you really have that short of a memory. He very deservingly went to the probowl as the punt returner just two years ago.
I remember when he had a giant dick spray painted on his lawn after costing us a prime time game in Foxboro with a late game kickoff return fumble.

Mr. Wilson was a gentleman who used his fortune and position to the benefit of many through his philanthropy and love for his team and the people of western New York. Mr Trump uses his fortune and position to the benefit of himself. Please Donald, don't disrespect the legacy Mr. Wilson has passed on through the Pegula's to the people who love this team. As a matter of fact, Donald, please just shut up.

I called Time Warner just as the BILLS kicked off yesterday as I noticed it last week too, but obviously the game was on Fox so it didn't matter much to me. TWC told me the same thing, and I got a woman in Buffalo who said they had a message on their "white board" and read it to me, essentially saying the same thing....called them again this morning to see if it will get resolved by Sunday and they said CBS and TWC technicians are working on it, apparently it is limited to the Syracuse market which also includes the Utica / Rome area....wasn't happy, but just reminded me of watching those old BILLS games before High Def...woman on the phone was very nice and understood my frustration as she was a BILLS fan too...knew much of the history and what was transpiring with the team...nice woman but hope CBS / TWC get their sh*t together before next week!

I spoke with both Time Warner and the local CBS affiliate in SYR this morning. The CBS affiliates engineer was forthcoming in his explanation of the problem. Seems Time Warner was having trouble with their reception of the local CBS feed and decided that the low def was better than none. The CBS affiliates engineer assured me that they are very aware of the issue and will correct it.
In usual fashion Time Warner was dismissive and acted as if the problem was mine, and "helped" me by talking me through the setup of my settings on the cable box. I love being treated like an idiot and being charged $150.00 monthly for the privilege. F... you very much Time Warner.

Spoke with Time Warner. They claim CBS was having trouble with their high def signal. I'm skeptical of Time Warner.

For the second week in a row the 1:00 game on CBS was broadcast in s..tty low def by Time Warner in Central New York. It was so bad that I stopped flipping to Fox during breaks in the Bills game because it was painful to switch back. Pretty poor treatment by Time Warner, CBS, or the NFL on the culmination of one of the greatest weeks in Bills history. Anyone else deal with this?

I'm tiring of sports highlight show hosts and their mega-egos. It seems these days every highlight must be accompanied by a joke or two, a few witty double meanings regarding players names, and maybe a political comment also. Just my opinion but, when the sports personality becomes larger than the sport the show has jumped the shark. Oh, and Olbermann is a colossal D-Bag. I get the feeling he has a rather high opinion of himself.

You have earned my respect and admiration since I first walked into the Rockpile as an 8 year old in 1967 and became a Bills fan. I shook your hand once at the Ralph on a game day and it remains one of my most cherished memory's. The Buffalo bills and I share a birthday and I thank you Mr. Wilson.
You were one of the greatest generation. You were a WW2 Veteran, a champion of business, a philanthropist, and a giant in the development and success of American football.
But foremost, Mr. Wilson, you were always a gentleman.
The short list of good men I need to see in heaven now includes , Johnny Cash, My Dad, and Ralph Wilson Jr.
( My Dad aint dead yet but he took me to that game in 67 and showed me how great it is to be a Bills fan.)

It seemed very... I don't want to say "scripted"... but very.... out of the hands of the players this week--across the league.
(I truly don't think theres some vast conspiracy to get the Patriots in the Super Bowl, or to have certain teams win, or whatever).
But the referees have SO much discretion now--to review every scoring play, to throw pass interference flags for incidental contact in the deciding moments of a game, to penalize a hit on Glennon by Byrd, but not a hit on EJ when he slid...
The high degree of control that seemingly everyone has over the game, except the men actually PLAYING the damn game.
Nothing is spontaneous in the league anymore, to the point that when you're seeing something that should be amazing, like the end of that Ravens game, for instance, it just feels forced,
and then when you see something mundane, like that Browns victory over the Patriots, it is replaced by an almost "forced" drama--that wasn't pass interference, and the Patriots touched the ball before 10 yards on the onsides kick.
This era of high definition, 20 camera angles, and let's make everything "FAIR" is ruining the sport for me. There is no more magic, I am losing my obsession.

I figured the Bills would cut either Kolb or Jackson. Didn't think it would happen this soon, but better to give TJax a chance to catch on elsewhere, and EJ more reps to help him acclimate to the starting position come week 1.

My dad took me to my first Bills game at the Rockpile 11.11.1968, and I saw the Bills defeated by the Chargers on their way to a 1-12-1 season. I remember my dad and uncle telling me, "look at the bright side, there's a guy named O.J. we may be in line to draft". By the way, our one victory that year was against the Jest and Joe Willy Namath, who had a pretty good time in SB 3.
45 years later, my 54th birthday tomorrow, I smiled as i read the OP. I am proud to be a member of Bills Nation. It's been in my blood since I was a 9 year old boy. We moved to Syracuse in 1974 and I was a Bills fan in a predominantly Giants fanbase. There's been a lot of heartbreak and pain, but I remain strong, resilient, and optimistic.
I too love my Bills brothers and sisters, but make mine a Saranac pale ale.

I remember 1969-70 when the Bills publicly stated they would use O.J. as a "decoy". Doomed to repeat history. It's so difficult to be a Bills fan. Spiller is the most explosive running back in the game. Use him!

Ugh. I too have been doing this for 45 years.
What gets to me the most is the apathy surrounding these disasters. The fans walking out of the stadium like sheep. Like they expect these results. Not even seeming angry. In my minds eye I see a scene like the apocalyptic horizon from " The Terminator 3" as i walk through the parking lots. But no, what do I see? A bunch of docile sheep waiting their turn for the next slaughter. Is anyone angry?
I guess when I see our defensive linemen, (who had such a stellar game), laughing it up with their opponents while I'm still punching the seat in front of me, I should understand that I have more emotion invested than this organization than the organization itself.
Another example of the apathy surrounding this mess is the Tavaris Jackson situation. He can't get on the field because he cant get enough reps in practice? Come on men! Pactice longer. These are your jobs! Work overtime. Do what it takes to succeed.
If I did my job as an ICU nurse as poorly and accepting of incompetence as these guys I would be in jail along with being unemployed.

I'm a 20 year ICU nurse. I'm not insensitive to our health and social issues. I just want to enjoy our national pastime for a few hrs without thinking of our problems. But the NFL is there when ever they see a buck.
