this really hinges on merriman. we are overrating several and discounting others. I think we have gotten to serviceable, and if merriman plays well we could be above average.
DLINE
dwan edwards is an average to above average starter that i like
KW is good - not as stout as we could hope, but above average
Marcell is a bit of a wild card. We hope he is amazing. odds are he is average to slightly above in his first year, with probowl potential later but.... its a roll of the dice
Backups - Troup and carrington are huge question marks. spencer johnson is meh. Jasper will be lucky to make the team yet alone get a single snap. he could be great someday, but expect it to follow the peters model of taking a couple years to get real reps.
LBers
Merriman - who the heck knows
moats -- showed some instincts, poooor against the run, ok rusher, didnt get a great read on his coverage. average at best.
kelsey -- shudder.
poz -- free agent, injury issues, average to above average starter IF he even plays
sheppard -- third round rookie, does he get starter reps early? if he does he will be exceeding expectations of everyone but this board and his mom.
davis -- average, probably underrated by our fans.
batten -- probably one of the most overrated guys on the team - why? cause he hasnt had a chance to let us down yet. all we have is team reports that hes awesome!
If everyone hits their full potential, then we could be upper echelon, but even then im not saying ELITE. i think we will be serviceable and because we are not used to it, fans will be overly excited. id compare my expectations of the front 7 to my expectations of fitz. itll flash, it wont totally screw things up, but its not a position of strength, and no superbowl contender would trade their situation for ours.... but it wont be embarassing. thats a big step.
I agree with everything you said here.

Chad Greenway and Lamarr Woodley aren't on that LB list? I'll take either one (or David Harris) and Logan Mankins, please.

From @Adam_Schefter:
Despite not being on field for practice this morning, Ravens OT Jared Gaither is at the team's facility undergoing treatment.

Not really, I haven't "dared" anyone to do anything here.
Wow. And in response you put a picture of a child on the cover of an internet tough guy magazine?
Good one.
-
What am I looking at? Is that your kid? Are you implying I'm childish? Or an internet tough guy? What have I said that would indicate either? In any case, aren't you being a little hypocritical?
-
I do that all the time. If I'm in a bad mood, sometimes I'll pick it up and hand it back to them. Soulless, disgusting people.
Sure you do...I absolutely believe all of that.

Smokers should have no rights. Zero. Nada.
Wow. Replace the word "Smokers" with "Jews" or "Blacks" and what does that make you, dude? Not saying you're a racist, just making a point.
But as a smoker I find your statement offensive. Pretty much everything you have said in this entire thread is offensive, including the "jackasses" moniker.
Let me know where you live; I've got a bag of trash to drop off in your yard. Don't worry, it will biodegrade in a couple of decades.Well it depends what's in the trash bag...not sure if your tampons are biodegradable or not, "jackass"....ohhh snap!
OK, that was just for humour.
-
I dare any one of you who are complaining to walk up to a smoker who tosses their butt and tell them they are littering.
That, or just whine some more on the internet.

Just looking at that 08 draft..McKelvin in the 1st, Hardy in the 2nd (I feel like I've barely seen the 2 play) and also Brohm in the 2nd..I mean, that draft was only two years ago...if these 3 can stay healthy and/or get the opportunity to play...they could still be big time players...
Even Maybin and Nelson from last year's draft..hopefully this coaching staff can get the most out of all of them.

Brian Brohm: Bills open to Brohm winning starting QB job
According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Bills are "very open" to Brian Brohm entering Week 1 as their starting quarterback.
Mort previously hinted on ESPN that the new Bills regime is ready to wash its hands of Trent Edwards. Brohm threw for just 146 yards and two picks on 29 pass attempts in his lone start last season. Otherwise, the former second-round pick has been unable to get on the field entering his third year. Apr. 9 - 5:10 pm et

Kinda funny that both just went within 1 minute...and not to the Bills.

Cardinals just took John Skelton.

Jonathan Crompton, QB

The 49ers have 4, plus a game in London! When's the last time they were in the playoffs again? Did they get that much better over the offseason?
-
Hypothetically, if they draft Spiller in the 1st, trade their 2nd for Gathier, draft Cam Thomas in the 3rd, and trade a 4th for Jason Campbell, I think it's safe to say they get 4 starters out of this draft...
-
I'm pretty sure that injuries have made him a shell of what he once was (a mere motel, if you will)...BUT...he did play Offensive Line for Chan Gailey for 2 years. In fact, Gailey was the one that drafted him.
Keep an eye on it.
I'm sure you've heard this before...but I'd be ECSTATIC if your mock draft became reality.
-
I wonder if Marshawn Lynch and the 41st overall pick to San Diego for the 28th overall pick would work..
-
The fact that the new Bills' brass is "reportedly" meeting with/to meet with/holding a private workout for/interested in McNabb, Tebow, Clausen, McCoy, and Skelton (Lefevour? Snead?) may all just be due diligence.
But it tells me they really aren't holding an open competition with just TE, Fitz and Brohm on the roster at QB come training camp.
-
Neither Clausen nor Bradford will be there at 9 and the 2nd rounders, Tebow and McCoy, don't get me excited. I'd like the Bills to go LT, NT for the 1, 2 picks. Then use the 3rd to draft a project QB to develop like Skelton or Snead.
This is exactly how I feel, and what I'm hoping for. Something like:
1st: Trent Williams/Bryan Bulaga
2nd: Cam Thomas/Terrence Cody
3rd: John Skelton/Jevan Snead

google "McNabb mentor black quarterbacks"
At least two are mentioned in the first article that comes up.
Umm I did, and it doesn't.
Bills primetime game

Every team in the NFL plays on Thursday this year (including Thanksgiving). If this wasn't the case, we probably would've got zero prime time games.
