  1. I would hire a replacement for Leslie Frazier and let McDermott be head coach.  He needs another point of view of the field especially in critical conditions.  I would also invest heavily in the offense.  In the Chiefs game, we saw you get get pretty far with virtually no linebackers.  Next year our linebackers will be healthy and you can always draft them.

  2. NFL Network is reporting that Josh is banged up after the last game.  Hopefully he will be good to go on Sunday.

But this raises a key issue -- do you want Kyle Allen starting a game?  Given the way Josh plays, its only a matter of time before he gets a injury that has him sitting on the sidelines for a while.

We all saw this year that a capable backup can take you pretty far.  We need to be in a better position next year.

  3. I thought Andy Reid's comments were quite telling in that he expected a warning from the referee regarding the illegal formation.  Is he kidding or is this evidence of the expectation of a two-tiered system regarding officiating favoring the "darling" teams.  We are luck that we had this ref crew this week.  If we had the one we had in Philadelphia, we would have lost this game.

  4. McD looks like he just tolerates offense and thinks defense wins all the games.  He is stuck in an old coaching mentality and hasn't embraced the modern realities of the NFL.  The rules favor offense and we need an offensive minded staff, with a solid enough defense to prevent a collapse.  McD has not shown that he is capable of this.  Others have referred to him as a poor man's Dick Jauron.  He might be closer to a poor man's Chuck Knox.

I love how because McDermott is an unpopular figure around here, everything that’s gone wrong is his fault 🤣🤣😂

How do you know that it was McDermott who insisted on making these picks?  How do you know it wasn’t Beane who insisted on defense?

Don't know for sure, but some of Beane's picks sure looked like stretches -- like he was told from McD that he needs this kind of player.

  6. The greatest strength of this team is offense, so we don't need to keep drafting undersized linebackers and corners who can't cover.

We need a true number 2 wide receiver (assuming Diggs stays), another offensive lineman (or two), a RB in the line of Murray, but with youth.
On the defensive side we need someone to replace DeQuan Jones (assuming he goes elsewhere).  Don't know how Milano is going to recover, so we should consider his replacement.

I also think it would worth drafting a developmental quarterback so we don't all have to sweat when Josh takes a hard hit.

I hope that we also hire a defensive coordinator.  Although McDermott is a genius in his own mind, we need a fresh voice on defense.  We also need to fire the ST coach and get some one good in here.

Way to put words in my mouth and come out of the gate aggressive. Great conversation starter, bro.

You think that if we have an offensive head coach we still go Boogie Basham over Creed Humphrey? I kind of doubt it.

Beane is a decent GM, who has focused on signing/drafting defensive players because that's what the head coach wants and believes will make the team successful.  It's not a crazy concept.

This makes a lot of sense.   He is constantly trying to get players who fit into McD's scheme.  Priorities would change with an offensively minded head coach, which is what we really need.

Kim Pegula's situation set the franchise back. Terry doesn't want to be involved in the day to day

But I thought he has other family members involved in running the franchise.  Have to believe someone is overseeing this mess.

Don't be obtuse.  We have a head coach who needs firing and it's important to know who might be making the call on such an important decision.  Obviously, Beane would be involved, but who else?  Terry himself, or does he have underlings to whom he's delegated responsibility for decisions like this?

Exactly.  When things are going badly, someone has to step in to let fans know they know whats going on.

  10. More of a modern day Dick Jauron.  Need an offensively minded head coach.  Need an aggressive D coordinator.  Also need a new special teams coach, who has been bad.

Still up in the air about Beane.  However, if it takes a change from the top to get what we need, so be it.

Players look uptight around McD.  Need someone they respect.  The wait he treats Cook is obscene given he is not the only one making mistakes.

  11. Looked at the simulator, and assuming we will win against Miami, The Chargers and Patriots, the key other game is The Chiefs.  Beat the Chiefs and the playoff odds go up to 66%.  And, if you beat either the Eagles or Cowboys the odds go up to 99%.  You don't have to win all 6, but at least 4 of the right games and if you want a virtual guarantee, 5 of the 6.

  12. Dude, this is the dumbest post I've read in a while. His schemes don't work in the modern NFL? So what, the "modern NFL" consists of the 2015 season? Cause that's the only season his defense wasn't in the top 10 in the NFL. OK...you got me...they were 11th once with the Jets, but across the board other than that year and this year his defenses have been in the top 10, mostly top 5. I'd say 1/4 is players not comfortable in the scheme, 1/4 is players not buying into the scheme fully, and 1/2 is Rex doesn't have exactly the players he needs...I'd expect some changes on the D this offseason to get more of what Rex wants.

I think this is the essence of the problem.

I'd like to win as much as anyone, but I think that whenever you hire a new coach, the first year is a crapshoot. Let's give the coach a little more time (2 more years) to see what happens when he brings in the players he needs to run his defense/offense.

By the way, our offensive line is terrible. We need an upgrade of at least two players.
