  1. I would recommend that everyone read Gregg Easterbrook's new book; The Game's Not Over: In Defense of Football. He addresses many of the issues being talked about here. He writes this in the same style he used when he wrote TMQ for ESPN. He addresses the finances and the blackmailing of cities by franchises in order to get new stadiums built, as well as the concussion issue and many more.

    Enjoy.

  2. Two come to mind for me. Both were against the Dolphins. 1980 at the stadium when the streak was broken and the fans tore down the goal posts. Other one has been mentioned as well, beating them when Ricky Williams ran wild. My son was probably 10 at the time and the whole stadium was singing "Let it Snow". By the time we got back to the car there must have been a foot of snow on the ground and everybody was helping push each others cars out.

  3. I was at that Giants game with a friend from Geneseo who was a huge Giants fan. Since there was almost nobody in the stadium we sat right behind the Giants bench in the third row. The G-mens third string scab quarterback was a guy whose last name was Bush or Busch. So late in the game and half in the bag, we started chanting "WE WANT BUSH, WE WANT BUSH". He actually turned and waved to us.

Absolutely horrible game, but we had fun.

  4. My son, who is a member here, LeviF91, and I were discussing the Pro Bowl last week. His suggestion was to announce the Pro Bowl playerss as a Honor. Just like the Silver Slugger or Golden Glove winners in baseball. He said they should have a game after the Super Bowl which would be played by Free Agents. This would showcase available players for the teams and the fans. What do you think?

  5. I've been a fan since I was ten years old which was in 1963. I will always root for this team to win and I never give up in the 2nd quarter. The OP was reacting like a moron. By the way, I picked my "Greatest Comeback" sweatshirt to wear today, before the game started. It may have not matched the 1993 game, but it sure was sweet.

  6. Don't doubt it and we have nothing to prove otherwise.

However, I agree...who is Bill Williamson? And Fred Jackson needs to be taught a lesson? This Williamson character might be eating his words when the league catches on to Spiller by Week 12 and the Bills run Jackson & Lynch down everyone's throat.

You do understand he is talking about Vincent Jackson, the reciever from San Diego, who is holding out, not Fred?

  7. Good timing on this one. I heard him on the radio this afternoon. He expects to be ready by May to work out for teams. He didn't seem to have any expectations as to where he would end up. Seemed a little bitter with the Titans organization and how they handle veterans. Talked about Thomas Jones getting screwed over by the Jests.

  8. This columnist just throws in the Gailey hiring off the cuff like it has anything to do with the article he is writing about. Just a cheap shot at the Bills. Read down in the comments after the column and somebody is trashing AJ and his recent drafts, saying they should bring back Nix. I think we just have to let this play out and watch the coaching staff that gets hired.

  9. Same rules as always.

One guess per TBD poster in good standings.

Number can be guessed only once.

Closest number wins, under or over actual time of possession.

In case of a tie lower guess wins.

YOUR GUESS SHOULD BE IN THIS FORM , example 30 min 12 sec.

Time of Possession per Mondays Buffalo News stat. page.

As always Hammer's word is final.

Due to the late start, contest closes at 1:30 pm Orchard Park Time 10-26-2008

    Prizes ????

There must be atleast 50 guesses or contest is null and void.

    Good luck

    34 minutes 17 seconds

  10. I saw one play where Jason Peter's threw his man to the ground hard. Our hopes of him using the 2 weeks to catch up came to be true. Why is it the O-line blocks so well in passing and horribly in the run. I'm was so happy when Lynch finally got a whole late in the game and ran for about 19 yards. Seemed like his long run of the season. I completely understood why he dropped to the ground in exhaustion after his touchdown. That guy works hard out there, alot harder then most RB's.

I didn't think that was exhaustion. I thought he was goofing because the Charger bumped him after he was already in the end zone and he dropped to the ground mocking the guy. The funniest part of that whole thing was as they went back to the bench Marshawn crouched behind Freddy, giving him kudos for paving the way.
