  1.

It is a problem IMO. A team gets a franchise great QB and due to the 'blunt' 4-team divisional format, 3 teams become the Washington Generals for 10-20 years. Say the Jets get Sam Darnold and he becomes a Manning/Brady/Rodgers-level QB, and they manage the roster competently... It all but ensures that the Bills would not host a playoff game for a decade more +... The 4-team divisional format really can put your team and 3 others in a tough spot. I get the whole 'macho' "just beat them and it doesnt make a difference. It is easier than that though and I do think there are better ways to align the league. It stinks there are various coin-flip divisions like the Souths and sometimes the Wests, and then you have some that are on generational lock-down

And the current rivalries do nothing for me. The Patriots I hate, just because the success. I am worn down with 17 years of beat-downs and am at the point of malaise. I didnt shed a tear when the Colts left the AFC East... The Jets do nothing for me other than me disliking any NYC sports team. The Dolphins are nothing to me. A turquiose team with a minimal fanbase in a city that has nothing in common with me. The Marino-Kelly years were good, but mostly due to the situation that both teams happened to be at the top of the Division/Conference for 8 years or so. It could have been anyone else, really, didnt matter if it was Miami. Kind of like the nasty Seattle/San Francisco rivalry a few years ago. The NFL will get that no matter what, depending on who is good and competing for a run of a few years/seasons.

Agreed. And stop scaring me with your Jets scenario!

  2. Maybe we should make a list of occupations that lessen the quality of life for persons working there for any extensive amount of time. Then we could all take a stand against everything! Rise up!

Right but NFL is pure entertainment. It serves no greater practical purpose. At least coal miners are mining coal for electricity so life can continue. And yes, we should be concerned with the safety of all workers and make their jobs as safe as possible. That is the right thing to do as a human being.

  3. This makes me really really sad. It may be the reason I eventually stop watching football. WHY IS BASEBALL SO BORING?!

is there any player today who doesn't know hits to the head are bad ? if not, shame on NFLPA.

therefore legally , aren't they subject to PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK ??

also, many if not most, have it BEFORE they get to the NFL.

the NFL combine tests for bad hearts....why not brains ? (while alive)

At what point do we draw the line on assumption of risk. Things like MMA and boxing are legal (and probably worse) for the brain than NFL football. But we don't accept death matches under the "assumption of risk" theory -- why not though? I mean if two dudes enter a ring knowing it is a fight to the literal death, shouldn't we let them do it? They are assuming the risk aren't they?

We in society have to draw a line on monetizing inherently dangerous activities. Is wrong to pay people to undertake serious health risks? It is something I struggle with as a sports fan for sure. Especially when they start out as kids as you noted. Kids and a lot of them in poverty and don't know better.

  4. there is high demand in the QB market. we knew this. Bills are not "overpaying" for Tyrod. If anything, they are getting Tyrod at BELOW market value and they should just pull the trigger on the option already.

Is it "too much" money for Tyrod? Probably. But it's not an overpay because the market is extremely bloated.

Unless the Bills are planning to tank, then go ahead and start some crappy QB.

  5.

Meh. If SDS closed this board down tomorrow I'd be like, "damn, that sucks" and then I'd actually get some work done.

right but they can't recover their league data now. i doubt the people who were into the sim league even have an ability to contact the other players.

i'm not saying its the end of the world, just that the Bills generally suck at fan relations

  6. Weren't you a mod there?

    yessir.

Exactly what "warning" would have satisfied people? What did you need a "warning" for? You still had to go elsewhere. They posted an explanation. Was someone supposed to call each BBMB member to get their thoughts on the change first? Hold some hands or give out crying towels?

Bitching to B word. Bills fans do it better than anyone.

    Welcome.

actually, there was a very active sim league there. i'm sure the sim league people would have loved a heads up so they could keep the league going elsewhere. additionally, an email to all users telling them that the boards were getting shut down would have been classy. instead of just SURPRISE nothing exists!

  7. i am going to be there and also looking for someone who will be within walking distance tailgating to the stadium. apparently there are tailgating lots where you have to take a BUS to get to the stadium. my sis lives within walking distance to stadium so if there is anyone going to be in those lots by the stadium LMK.
