It was part of the whole thing: they opened by passing for 150 yards in the first 20 minutes of game time, so Buffalo went to a 2-down-lineman formation. Ben noticed it quickly and checked to a run every time we lined up that way, and 230+ yards later we were done.

thats not the argument. People here are seriously saying that no matter who made the hot and who it was against, it was a savage hit. "Made me sick to my stomach" was one quite I remember seeing. What's the difference if it was done yesterday or 10-30 years ago. If it's a "disgusting" and "dirty" hot now, it's a disgusting and dirty hit then. The era that it took place shouldn't make a difference.
I disagree. We know a lot more today than we did in Tasker's era about the long-term effects of head injuries.
In 1990, we would have cringed and wondered about the impact of the hit on the roster for the rest of the season. Today we know it will have significant impacts on the player's life moving forward. It's a different era.
Again, it was not necessary to deliver a head shot for Landry to have a positive impact on the play. Take the opponent out of the play, not the game.

No one ever accused Robert Woods of playing less than 100% even though he never launched himself into someone's ear hole. That is a BS argument. Again, you can take someone out of the play without taking him out of the game.

But the fact is, it wasn't a dirty play. It's football. His job on the play was to take out the safety on the play and he did it..
Again: he could have taken AW out of the play without taking him out of the game. There is a difference. Robert Woods has done it many times and no one faults him for his run blocking.
This is ridiculous.

He didn't need to do that to prevent AW from making a play. R Woods, whose blocking everyone looks to as the way a WR goes about things, never looks to take the other team's players out of the game, just out of the play.
It was dirty.

This is my best defense of Suh (based on pure speculation):
I think he kicks guys like this because he played soccer as a kid and using his feet like that is instinctual. In fact, I think his father was a professional soccer player.
But it's dirty soccer play, too.

haha not exactly. At least all are still on the team and 2 of the 4 are proven to be very good while the 3rd hasnt had a chance yet but will soon. Nothing like the Browns recent draft pick history. It isn't even like the 3 who are hurt are out for the season but... Never mind. It's more fun to wallow.

Anyone else sick of the leaks from the league in these types of things? Manny Lawson, and this. This is ridiculous and really just feeds the worst instincts in the press. I wish Rex had called out the league on this.
