  1. Jaws has Fitz at #24 and basically said that he can play at an elite level at times but his MECHANICS (footwork and throwing motion, both) are too inconsistent to keep him there. So can David Lee get Fitz to be consistent with his mechanics????? The answer to that question will be the answer to our playoff drought or not.

  2. Wait, he's in the same defensive backfield as Claiborne--and he's the academically challenged one??

He was in academic trouble for not taking care of his schoolwork, not because he's dumb. To put to rest all of the non-sense in this thread.

    Aaron Wilson

LSU defensive back Ron Brooks scored a 22 on the Wonderlic, according to a league source with knowlege of the result.

  3. Buddy clearly said in a post-draft presser that they will use Graham as an outside receiver. Just because he is small like Roscoe doesn't mean they plan on using him like Roscoe. I am looking forward to seeing what this absolute burner can do in a Bills uni!

He's 5'11 and 190 lbs....he's not small! He's basically the same size as Lee, we'll play outside.

  4. If he's a special player, you take him. You don't pass up on a potential superstar/difference maker in the top 10 to get a decent starter at another position. BPA means just that. Drafting for need in the 1st round is how you get busts....whitner, mcmuffin, etc.....take the best guy, he will make the team better right away, you can never have enough elite players, even if guys played well at times at the position....

  5. Glenn started one year at LT and was All-SEC...Coaches and AP...He went up against the best competition in the Country for a year at LT and did pretty well...Plus he was an excellent OG before that...

I really don't care much where others have him because I'm purely going off what I've seen of Glenn, Martin, and Reiff...And my evaluation is based on who I think is going to be the better Pro LT...Nothing else...I feel like Glenn is going to be the better NFL LT...I don't think Reiff is a LT whatsoever...Martin will be in time...But I think Martin is going to struggle a bit, especially early in his career, because he's not a great athlete and he's not a huge guy either...I admit I may be a bit higher on Glenn than some...But he's a massive guy with good feet, good strength, excellent wing-span, and a HUGE upside...He's the type of player Buddy Drafts at OT...He would provide depth everywhere along the O-Line...

Like I've said before...I would rather the Bills NOT take an OT at #10...But if they do, I hope it's Glenn... B-)

You hit the nail on the head!!!

  6. I would LOVE to get Stephen Hill in the 2nd round but he is a sure fire 1st round pick.

While all the MEDIA has their idea of what players are, who knows what OBD or even the other teams value the players for real. With that being said I'm going to say.

    1st - Glenn-OT

2nd - One of these guys, depending who is left on the board with the pick Randle/Hill - WR or Robinson-DC

  7. For the last few years, this has been one of my favorite sites for combine news and results.

They already have the bench press results for the O-linemen and tight ends as well as other physical measurements.

It looks like they've measured the QBs and other position groups too.

    http://www.footballsfuture.com/

(If you change the year in the URL you can view the results of past combines (measurements, times, etc)

BTW, Ryan Tannehill has the smallest hands of any of the 19 quarterbacks in attendance. From wrist seam to end of middle finger he measures 9 inches.

    Gotta love the combine!

edit: Justin Blackmon… 6' 7-8" inches tall (ouch).

    RG3, 6'2 3/8" inches tall.

That's not how they measure hands. It's from the end of the pinkie to the end of the thumb across, not from the wrist up to the end of the middle finger.

  8. Check your math against the box scores.

Your assessments of A&M crack me up and show you really have no clue about A&M's season. Cyrus Gray got hurt against Kansas, the 2nd to last regular season game. Fuller was healthy the last two games when only one running back was available, not just Ryan Swope as a WR. Fuller was the main target in both of the final games and the leading WR, including a clutch grab to run out the clock on A&M's last FG drive in the bowl game. Ben Molina served as the only running back in the final two games. Tannehill forced terrible passes against Texas, and against Northwestern, with the game well in hand at the beginning of the 4th, Tannehill threw an ill-advised pass for an interception that gave Northwestern life. Tannehill turnovers single-handedly blew the Oklahoma State and Missouri games earlier in the year, as well as the Texas game. A&M had big leads against Arkansas, OK State, Mizzou and Texas, and Tannehill disappeared in the 4th quarter against Kansas State after playing well. Yes, the defensive play did not help AFTER the turnovers, but without them, A&M's opponents would never have been in many or any of those games. Tannehill effectively turned a 12-1 season into a 7-6 season. Hardly the resume of a top ten pick. He does have Blaine Gabbert written all over him. Oh, BTW, Tannehill now has a broken foot. He should be a 2nd rounder at best. Can we end this thread once and for all?

Jerrod Johnson was more prone to turnovers than Tannehill. Johnson's passes would wobble worse than many of Tebow's passes. To put it plain and simple though, Johnson played 2 1/2 to 3 years, while Tannehill played a year and a half. That would explain the better numbers.

RT had the K-State game won in overtime with a great 4th down play to extend the play and throw a TD pass then on the 2 point play he hit Fuller in the chest for the win and Fuller dropped it. If you actually watched the A&M games you will see how many balls his receivers dropped this year. Just want the Senior Bowl stuff this past week and you'll see how many balls Fuller was dropping there. A&M doesn't have 2 top flight WR's on their roster. Fuller is a shell of his 2010 season and Swope is a good college slot WR but he had his share of drops this year as well. Fuller had one good game all year and it was the bowl game. RT did make some ill advised throws, turning the ball over but he also made a ton of throws that most QB's cannot make. Most talented QB make ill advised throws because they trust their ability more then they should and only experience can help in this area. RG3 did it a ton early in his career and still did it this year as well. He got away with a lot of throws because the DB's dropped some balls but he was out of his mind for some of the throws he made. RT would definitely benefit from another year as a starter to work out some of the bad decisions but to blame the loses on him, is ridiculous. He's the guy that got them the huge leads in those games. The defense allowing teams back into the game and the offense going into conservative mode in the 2nd half was the real issue, costing Sherman his job. Tannehill would then be asked to turn it on at the end of the game to get the lead back. There is no slam dunk at any pick and it's mostly a crap shoot but you can't deny that he was a major factor in A&M winning their final 6 regular season games last year and he's not the sole reason they lost games this year. If Nix/Gailey believe he's a frachise QB then get him. It's a good situation to sit behind Fitz and be brought along the right way to become a franchise guy. During Nix's career he's been around Namath, Kelly, Brees & Rivers, if he thinks that RT is a franchise guy, who are we to argue.

  9. Belichick was on the radio today saying he had numerous inquiries about trading the pick. Am I out of line for assuming that we too could have easily had a trade down partner?

But of course, we absolutely HAD to have a corner (or is he a safety?).

I like this selection in that we might see less of Whitner's second grade level tweets posted, whereas he is out of here. Other than that it sucked. It is a classic Bills example of what not to do. The Bills lose football games. There is no point in maintaining failure. They should start from the ground up and build a good, strong team. One with talent and depth at QB and both lines.

Face it folks, we are cursed.

Yeah because the secondary really shuts down the Pats and Jets receivers. Tell me who is going to start at both DC's for ALL 16 games if they don't Williams? On top of that they're in nickel half the time with all the 4 WR sets teams use now. Teams really should pick DC's every year, you need 5 healthy ones and it's hard to keep those guys healthy for 16 games each year. They are getting rid of the smaller defensive players and starting to get men to play defense. I'm all for the pick, bigger, faster, stronger....defense wins championships.

  10. McShay just said the Bills are having a great draft as well, on sportscenter. Said of the teams that don't have the extra picks and are just staying with their picks and selecting excellent players the Bills can't be beat. Got the best player in the draft. A very good corner/safety that adds defensive versatility and a run stuffing ILB. He sounded shocked.

  11. It actually makes good sense. Teams are scouting college seniors all year long and then they have just 3 months to do all of the work on juniors that they do in a year on a senior. More exposure can't be a bad thing. Plus, who wouldn't want to see the BEST players in the country play in an all star game. Think how good that game would be!

  12. All the players that are considered for the first 2 rounds use their hands effectively to get off blocks. Its not a hard concept. Hell its an instinct, when you trip and fall, don’t you put your hands out to catch your fall? Its the same concept. This guy would break his fall with his nose if he trips anything like how he plays football

I do expect players to get better, but I do have to wonder why this guy hasn’t learned things most people figure out in high school. Add into that his small stature and frame, he looks like Maybin. He plays just like Maybin did in college too. Don’t tell me he doesn’t when that’s exactly what he does. He is quick and has a burst and tries to run around the tackle but as soon as a OT gets his hands on him he is done. He just swings his arms around. Don’t even bring up his play vrs the run BC its hilarious to watch and makes Keith Ellison look like a HOFer.

But he will destroy the combine, great, another combine workout freak. I prefer football players to weight lifters and workout warriors. You can have all the weight lifters and Ill take the football players. Your team will be filled with Maybins and Gholstons Ill have guys like Jerrod Mayo and Brandon Spikes (O no a 5 second 40 time!!!!) and my team will win.

I guess you didn't see him play last year against the 2 best OT's in the last 2 drafts and he used his hands and was stout against the run. Yeah your right, he's not a football player, he only has 27 sacks in the last 2 years in the 2nd best conference in college football, but I guess that doesn't count as being a football player. Find me any player in the country at any level that has that many sacks the last 2 years....and if you want we can throw in TFL's, forced fumbles, PBU's and INT's....but hey I guess you expect the guy to get a sack on every pass attempt. He may have somewhat similar build to Maybin, he is far more explosive and flexible, not to mention he is way faster. He can cover WR's, as A&M had him do. Can you see Maybin's stiff herky herky body in coverage. Nope....

  13. Why hasn’t anyone brought up his technique issues? That’s what will keep him from getting off blocks in the NFL – which is the same problem Maybin has and had in college. He doesn’t use his hands to keep defenders off him consistently and doesn’t play the run well at all. I really don’t think he has much to offer.

His only role would prob be a weakside in a 4-3. Some role that will keep defenders off him and let him you use burst and quickness to get to the ball carrier. He could maybe shift to a Tampa 2 MLB I guess, he seems to have the athletic ability to do so. I just don’t see him being a pass rushing threat in the NFL, and taking a guy who we cant figure out how to play is a bad idea.

How many guys coming from college actually use their hands effectively to get off blocks??? Not many at all. And I guess no one here expects players to get any better once they get to the NFL...part of the draft process is projecting how good can a player be. He is far and away a better player than Maybin. It's not even close. Maybin can't hold Miller's jock. Maybin is lighter and no where near the athlete than Miller is. Wait until the combine and he runs in the high 4.5's at worst and his shuttle times are better than most safeties and will be in the mid to high 240's...

  14. I think the term "dominated" is a little mis-used when referring to either Miller or Maybin. Miller has played solidly. But I have yet to find even 1 game where he "dominated" and changed the whole game in favor of A&M.

If anyone knows of one, Im all ears/eyes. But based on his college career, I'd say he has played "pretty well", but not dominated.

Nick Fairley DOMINATED the Championship game.

Patrick Willis used to DOMINATE at Miss

Havent seen that from either of those guys.

He DOMINATED in the NEBRASKA, OKLAHOMA and TEXAS games in 2010, just to name a few.

  15. The RT is supposed to be the dominant run blocking tackle and the LT is the pass blocking OT, so moving Bell to RT defeats the purpose. Draft a good RT that is a run blocker first and serviceable pass blocker and we will be fine. Then Bell can get help from a TE on run plays to his side if you want to power run on the left.
