  1. Mizzou alum here so I am admittedly bias but I will say one thing about Drew Lock...his completion percentage should have been about 10 percentage points higher this year.  Mizzou has the biggest group of butter finger WRs in the country.  Jamon Moore had 18 drops alone last year (only stat I could find) and I swear he had way more than that this year. I literally tried to google and find out how many drops they've had this year while watching the bowl game last night, it's been super frustrating to watch all year long.  Balls he would drop on a dime and would hit them in the hands would get consistently dropped, many of which would have been TDs.  It literally felt like a 50/50 chance that the ball would be caught on passes that should have been no doubters.  Just sayin, I think Lock is going to be a stud...hope he comes back to Mizzou but I have a feeling he's going to declare for the draft.  I think a lot of it depends on who Mizzou hires as their new OC.

  2. Hated the trade when i heard it, now I'm warming up to it. I don't think this makes us that much less competitive this year. They must have not been 100% on Sammy's health and were probably 100% he wouldn't be here next year. They are all in on next years draft now. As far as EJ Gaines goes. I'm admittly a Mizzou homer but have him seen him play a lot. He's a good CB. Tall, physical, good ball skills and is a tackling machine. He's bigger than Darby, tackles better but isn't quite as athletic. He's a better fit than Darby for the new scheme. Gaines is a good player.

I'm sorry but this is flat out not true at all. Yes he won the defensive player of the year in the SEC, but it was really all smoke in mirrors. In his senior year he had 11.5 sacks. 9 of those (3 each) came against Arkansas St (not SEC), Vanderbilt (perennially one of the worst SEC teams) and Florida (who have had the worst Florida teams in the last 30 years the past few seasons). That leaves a whopping 2.5 sacks in the other 11 games, not very impressive at all. Not to mention his first three seasons he only had 7 combined. Finally, you have to remember that teams were also protecting more against Kony Early who is much more significant presence. Sam is knows only as a pass rusher, and he's not even that great at that when you break it down. The fact is, if he were a heterosexual man you would have never heard his name again after he won the SEC award.

I went to Mizzou and I've watched every game Michael Sam ever played at Mizzou. I've seen Justin Smith, Ziggy Hood, Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, Kony Ealy, Michael Sam, Shane Ray, and Markus Golden all play on the D-line. Michael Sam is not the athlete that either Smith, Sheldon, Ealy or Ray is but the guy was an excellent football player at Mizzou. I'm telling you he could play and play well in the NFL. He's not an elite athlete by any means but the guy is a gamer who I think could excel as a situational pass rusher. He might not have elite "get off" but he just has a knack for getting to the QB. Who cares if 9 of his sacks came against Arkansas State, Vandy, and Florida? Those were three games he absolutely dominated. What about the year before against Alabama when he had 1.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles? Or in the preseason with the rams when he had 2.5 sacks in very limited snaps (rams were loaded at D-line otherwise he would have made the team). Anyway, it's just my opinion buy I think this guy could totally play in the NFL and be effective. I think you have to know what you are getting though, he would be a situational pass rusher. I think him being gay does have something to do with him not being on a roster. I think teams feel for what they get in Sam isn't worth the media circus that would accompany signing him. If they didn't have to deal with that I think he'd definitely be on a team. Just my opinion.

Clay is a better H-back than Chandler. TE? I disagree. If H-Back is the preferred position of scheme for Roman than he's getting one of the better ones. If TE is what he wants, he would be getting one too short, too weak of a blocker and little production as an intermediate/deep threat receiver. Remember, he's significantly slower than Vernon Davis, and will not stretch the field as a receiver like that for us.

I wouldn't overpay for Clay. If it were me, I'd rather grab a TE with our 1st pick who can play a complete game. Save our money to upgrade the OL.

Just for the record, every TE to ever play football is slower than Vernon Davis. Davis ran a 4.38 at the combine which is one of the most ridiculous numbers in combine history. Although he is not as fast as Davis, Clay is an extremely athletic TE who can stretch the field (Clay ran a 4.69 in the 40, Chandler a 4.85). I know 40 times are the end all be all but still it illustrates my point.

  5. I like Mac a lot but we could also grab shayne skov or Michael sams later on to try and pick up a bigger need in the first.

If Sam makes it to Rd 2 that would be awesome, something tells me though that come draft time he will be a top 15 pick....dude is a monster.

  6. Just got my Sunday Ticket for FREE! and $45 off my bill for the next year. Just made the annual "wife wants us to switch to Charter and bundle our TV and Internet" speal and acted like I wanted to cancel my DirectTV (I'm still under contract until next May). I've been with DirectTV about 10 years and I don't think I've ever paid full price for Sunday Ticket....I've gotten it for free a few times now.

  7. Hell I'm only 30 and I've called quite a few times, they all seemed pretty reasonable.... I remember calling when I was a little kid (probably about 6-7). My mom had the flu and passed out in the kitchen (I was the only one home with her). She wouldn't wake up and like I said I was about 6 and thought she had just died. Then another time as a teenager, I walked into a gas station and there was some drunk dude (dude was huge too like 6ft 5 plus) just screaming at the poor attendant. He was saying she didn't give him the correct change and it was obvious he was really drunk and really angry. After screaming at her, he then cleared all the crap off the counter and just started going nutts, kicking stuff over etc. I just calmly walked back out to my car, locked the doors and called 911. I waited in front of the gas station to make sure he didn't actually become violent with the poor old lady, then the cops showed up and he tried to fight the cops....they ended up knocking over all the shelves in the store...it was nutts. I called a couple years ago when I witnessed a pretty bad wreck on the highway and another time a few years back when I saw a minor car wreck but one of the cars caught on fire and went up in a matter of seconds. That's about it though...
