  1. One of my best friends from Buffalo went to U of Wisconsin...I smoked the grass with Ron Dayne on three occasions in my visits there, including once during his Heisman season....

All I can say is that I would not want the five years I spent in college from ages 18-23 reported in the public spectrum. Crazy, crazy, crazy schit....

  2. Put it in front of me and I guarantee I'll drink it. There's very few beers that aren't fantastic.

I am not a big fan of the Ralph Wilsion Stadium drafts, though. I always go to the booths where they have the plastic bottles. The drafts always are flat and the beer tastes like it's been sitting in the keg lines since it was called Rich Stadium.

  3. I don't think it's a matter of he's going to wave his magic POTUS wand and comfort everyone. I think it's a matter of just showing up, which is essentially a symbolic act that represents the concern and sadness of the rest of us Americans who obviously can't do anything but say a prayer or some other equivalent gesture. Who are we to judge whether or not Bush visiting the campus does or does not offer some condolesence to people there? None of us are in that situation and thus if Bush showing up might help in some small way to some group of people, then the visit is a plus, imo.

I think the whole point in the original post was a commentary on how Bush will show a tender heart for innocent lives lost because of unjustified violence....Which depending on your political leanings could strike you as funny/sad/contradictory.

  4. Plus, if the president wasn't there, about how long would it take for you to start bitching that the President should be there and is turning his back on the country? How about a freaking nanosecond...

I hope he pats the Chief of campus police on the back and tells him he's doin a hell of a job.

  5. HE? Where's the head-shaking smiley.

    That's pretty funny, Smokey.

BTW, keep checking as tickets sometimes get "freed up" especially a week or so before the gig. Also, your parents might try going the "disabled" route. They hold tickets for the disabled. One of your parents may have to go in a wheelchair...but, it's a seat...right?

hahaha, don't worry, I know Steely Dan isn't a "he," I did insert as a joke.....As for my parents, I tried my best...They can figure it out from here....

A lot of the big summer tour announcements should be popping up pretty soon....Anybody heard of some other good shows on the way?

  6. I wouldn't say you're the hottest of those 3, but definitely the most hirsute!

BTW - "The Dan" is playing in "The Falls" in June...

    Seneca Events Center

My parents were out of the country when those tickets went on sale, and they asked me to pick them up a pair. I even went to Ticketmaster weeks in advance and set up a text message reminder for the tickets. At 4:50pm, I got the text message saying tickets would be for sale in 10 minutes, at 5pm. I wasn't at home, but logged on at probably 5:30pm...Zero tickets to be had.

I know Steely Dan and while I'm not a HUGE fan, I know he has a following...The venue is small, but I was not expecting a sellout like that...

  7. Of course, I was equally appalled when my dad yesterday sent me an email saying basically "Did you see what happened at Virginia Tech? Its probably terrorists. Keep an eye out at your school and stay safe".

    Terrorists, huh?

I had a conversation with my dad on the phone and he brought up the VT mess...He said, "It was probably Marcus Vick."

  8. I have Kelly's full page add from the BN thanking the fans in Buffalo when he retired hanging in my bonus room

I'm sorry, this just isn't true. If you read bills44's posts in this thread, you would know that all players from the University of Miami are thugs and would NEVER do such a thing.

We should all thank bills44 for this enlightenment, and realize that it is always best to paint with a wide brush. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm out to the local campus to round up some Asian students who no doubt plan on shooting the place up today.

  9. All of the major networks were broadcasting their moring shows live from the campus. Do you think that the News chiefs slap each other high fives when something tragic like this happens?

    Yes, they definitely high five.

Imus was a week early. If he said 'nappy-headed hoe' last night, he'd be in the clear.....

  10. I don't know about that, usually prices go up every year, sure alot has been spent this offseason on mediocre players, but if the cap goes up again (like it probably will) think of what he could get next year if he shows just a little bit more

He plays RB. They have a genuine opportunity to get injured on every single play. I don't think RB's like the idea of 'waiting until next year' to sign their extension. Even RB's who get franchised make good coin for one year, but are risking A LOT more coin because of the injury potential while playing out that one-year franchise contract.

  11. I don't really like the newer uni's at all...The blue jerseys aren't bad but the whites would be the worst in the Arena League. And it doesn't help that the product has been subpar since they've been wearing them. Something about Thurman up in the banner just looks sweet....Love those uni's....

As for the rest of the league, I'll give the Chargers the top spot in the AFC (although they have come out with a new one...I'll have to see how it looks on the field) and I really like the Eagles in the NFC. They took their old uniforms, updated it, but did it modern-classy. I like it.

  12. The Broncos are light years ahead of the Bills. Again the last Bills playoff appearance was in 2000. Enough said.

I agree, playoffs is the desired destination, and Denver has done and incredible job of staying competitive in a tough division. But what do they have to show for ANY of their playoff appearances? A few 45-14 blowouts to the Colts, a sneaky win over the Pats, and throwing up on themselves against the Steelers at home?

No doubt their last 5 years have been more successful than Buffalo's, but where are they now? I would not call them light years ahead of the Bills in April of 2007, with a QB who has a ton to prove.

  13. The difference between us and you:

    We fix our problems.

Signing the Arizona Cardinals' overrated QB to a lucrative contract and then watching him flush your team's chances for 4 years is what you consider fixing your problems???

The Bills and the Broncos both played in divisions with two playoff teams last year. The Bills and the Broncos both played in zero playoff games last year. The Bills and the Broncos are both relying heavily on young QB's from 2nd-tier football schools to lead the resurgence. The Bills and the Broncos have both been shuffling RB's for the last five years. I would say the Bills have zero wins in the last five years to hang their hat on...In the last five years, the Broncos took a year off from getting smoked by the Colts and used some suspect refereeing to beat the Patriots in one playoff game in Jan 06. Then they proceeded to lose at home in the AFC title game to the Steelers.

It's good to see the Broncos fans feel like their team is light years ahead of that laughing stock in Buffalo.........
