You all were a great help. For what it's worth I found the Bill's Colts game in the guide in Direct TV, clicked on it, hit info, and it appears I will be recording it live on Thursday. It's odd because it is the only thing listed in the line for channel 212-1 even though it isnt on for a week. I hope this thread helps other out to state Bill's fan like me, and I hope NFL network airs the other games too.

Here in Southwest Florida, I checked NFL channel and up comes 212-1.  It show Colts at Bills 7 PM Thursday night.  also with my 30/month loyalty discount I am actually 18 + change for Sunday ticket.  Time frame is 6 moths starting in September.

  2. Interesting that customers  directv are with out channels.  Here in southwest Florida it seems that we have all channels showing.  I called Directv yesterday to see what kind of deal I could get on Sunday Ticket..Because I have had Directv since 2002 I was giving a $30/month reduction in price for the year.  Sunday ticket I'm paying $18/month for 6 months.  Thats $108 for the ticket.  I thought that was a good deal. It took them about 45 minutes to get me that deal so I guess there was some negotiations going on.

  3. Born Pottsville PA. Moved to Kenmore 1943.

    Graduated DeVeaux Niagara Fall 1953.

Worked Chevy River Road 15 months

College in Holland Mi Grad 1958

    Worked Roswell Park till 1997

    Had season tickets from 1973-1996

Retired 1997 moved to southwest coast Fl. Don't miss the snow and cold but do miss the food and changing of leaves each fall. Have Sunday ticket and a small gang of western NYers in for the games.

  4. Even more of a difference is watching hockey in HD. If I watch it now in SD I have trouble following the puck.

I think for anyone who watches sports, HD is a great investment.

Just called Directv and payments are $44.99x7=$314,97. If you already have HD, this is included(HD) in the package. I signed up for another year.

  5. A) Moats broke the law.

    B) Location is irrelevant.

    C) Leaping out of the car and running from cops is a bad idea.

    D) Some people are dicks. Some people are cops. Ergo, some dicks are cops.

    E) A few minutes of rational thought by anyone involved at some point could have avoided this situation.

I doubt that. What people seem to forget is that 2 nurses and a fellow police officer tried to get him to release Moats but to no avail. With thus much info, for running a red light e arly in the AM, its a little much. My wife is far more upset than I am and she is usually then dclm one. Guy should lose his job. Police must also act with common sense.

  6. Nothing but a prick cop. No police force needs his kind of scum. There's being cautious and then there's being an out-and-out **** simply because you are on a power trip.

EDIT: i actually fault him less for pulling the gun than holding moats there. He onyl pulled the gun because someone charged out of the car. That makes sense. But what happened after was beyond ridiculous. Hmmm, lets see. Emergency room parking lot, entire family in the car, claims they have a dying relative inside. Seems to me the cop could have used (what obviously little) neural matter he's got between his ears to find out if Moats was telling the truth.

Remember, 2 nurses andf a fellow police officer urged release of Moats but to no avail.

  7. Just read on msnbc.com that Ryan Moats, a running back for the Texans was detained in a hospital parking while his mother-in-law died. Ryan ran a stop light to get the the hospital early in the AM. The cop pulled is gun and ordered his wife back into the SUV but she took off for the hospital and was able to be with her mother as she died. Two nurses and a police officer urged the arresting officer to let Ryan go to his mother-in-law's side but in essence refused to release him. No wonder Lynch said there is a target on his and every NFL player's back. BTW the cop was white and Ryan is black. He is off patrol and on a desk job. Go to msnbc.com and look under sports for the complete article.

  8. I had to chime in on the signing, but definitely was not looking forward to reading today's posts as I know most would be a bit on the ridiculous side. I started to read some such as "it's a R Brandon move", "it's a pr move", "why bring a cancer in", "this is just to boost season ticket sales", and several other idiotic posts. So, I am going to post and run, I just can't handle this board sometimes.

I'll start by saying, I was blown away when I heard the news. I was surprised earlier in the week when the Bills were not on the list of teams that had no interest in TO, but signing him was just crazy news. And I really really like the move. The Bills have been looking for solid number two receiver for many years now. And this signing improves the offense by miles. Opposing teams can no longer afford to double Lee consistently, they can no longer blitz at will, or put 8 in the box and focus on stopping the run. They have to now respect the Bills passing game. Plus, I feel that TO can bring a wealth on experience to this team. Who better to give advice on lessons learned to M Lynch than TO? I really feel he can fit in better in a smaller market, where he will not be hounded relentlessly by the media.

I have never been a TO fan, but the Bills really needed a legitimate #2. This guy, even at 35, can still play and is in incredible shape. Crabtree, as some people posted, most likely won't be there at 11 and the Bills need an impact player this year. Crabtree, as with most rookie WR's, would not provide an immediate impact. Now the Bills can focus on the O of D line, or even a TE, with the first round pick. This signing helps the Bills become legitimate contenders. They still have some more work to do in free agency and the draft to complete this team, but they are a much better team today with TO.

I agree but can we take this one step further. Is TO a stop gap measure until Hardy recovers form his ACL surgery and will he act as a mentor to not only Hardy but possibly Edwards as well? Yes I am excited but do have some reservations about his ME attitude. This is just some rumblings from an old fart.

  9. Thanks Fez I just got my year of Superfan for free!!! No hassles or threats even had to be made. I just have to cancel it at the end of the year or it will autorenew just like my Sunday Ticket does.

    Thanks again

I called and threatened to cancel the whole thing and got Supeefan free. Didn't know about cancellng to avoid charges for next year. Thanks for the info.

  10. One name: Cornelius Bennett. Same circumstance, the Bills let him test the market in exchange for an opportunity to match, and he double crossed an outraged John Butler and never gave the opportunity to match. This from a guy who had been to 4 Super Bowls with the team and was part of a very tight knit group of Bills veterans that was a Super Bowl favorite at the time. The Wolford deal was simialar, in that Wolford(and his AGENT) allowed the Colts to put a "poison pill" in the matchable offer sheet he signed so that he could sign with a pathetic Indianapolis team for essentially the same money he would have gotten playing for a 3 time running AFC champion in Buffalo. I mean, free agency is like war, all is fair.

What makes anyone think Nate Clements would honor any such deal if those guys did not? How about his agent? Does he want to be the guy who negotiates his players deals by wasting other teams time? I think not. There are reasons why contracts aren't negotiated in this manner.

This organization is flat-out senile. They make the same mistakes over and over. Clements can be replaced, but it's going to take more chips(picks and cap space) to do so than it would to just get it done. The net loss for this team will be substantial, and inexcusable. The guy is 26 years old for chrissake, his best years are well ahead of him, and he's going elsewhere with nothing for the Bills to show for it.

    Very nice, Marv.

Maybe we can waive McGahee next because it's "unfair" that he has to deal with disappointed media and fans. Or how about Lee Evans? Is it "fair" that he has to play in small market Buffalo, with a developing QB and as the only legitimate receiving threat when he could very well have been in the Pro Bowl last weekend if he were with a winner in a big market?

Marv is big on axioms, well I've got one, NICE GUYS FINISH LAST. Fortunately for Marv, when he was HC he had a prick like Polian running the organization.

Since when does one man make or break a team? There 11 men on the defense, take away 1 and you hve 10. Plug a reasonable player in that spot and you continue on. "NICE GUYS" don't always finish last. Wake up and smell the roses,

  11. "High Cost of Living?"  WNY doesn't have a high cost of living - it has a difficult economy for those looking for work.  There's a difference.

According to THIS website.  A family making $100K in Amherst, NY would have to make $136K to live comparably in Anchorage, AK.

Sorry Darin...It may be difficult to find "good" work in Western NY, but after 39 years at Roswell Park, the difference between my work pay check and retirement(penson and social secutiity only) is like 40% more. Also, money here in souithwest Florida goes much farther. Glad i ain't there to share the tought times.

  12. OK, Debenedetti and Barry - two Erie County Legislators - went too far when they requested the BILLS to forego a $3.56 million payment the franchise needs for maintenance at county-owned Ralph Wilson Stadium. The payment is part of a long-term lease negotiated between the county and the Bills in 1998.

You just don't !@#$ with the NFL.  Tampering with the lease - which would null and void it - is the LAST thing this community needs.

With taxes as high as they are - and a county budget in excess of ONE BILLION DOLLARS - keeping the BILLS is the LEAST we can do... and paying this $3.56 million dollar payment is NOTHING compared to all the over paid Erie Country workers, unions, and PORK!

WE MUST BOMBARD these two legislators with EMAILS letting them know you disapprove of their actions.  WE ALL KNOW how tenuous this issue is.

    PLEASE DO YOUR PART ASAP.

    Email info:

debenedetti@erie.gov -- Legislator Al DeBenedetti represents the 6th District, which includes the Riverside and Black Rock sections of the City of Buffalo, as well as parts of North Buffalo and the West Side.

drbarry15@erie.gov  -- Barry A. Weinstein is Legislator for the 15th District, which covers the Town of Amherst and the Village of Williamsville.

Being that I have escaped from the high cost of living in Western NY, I did my part and emailed both idiots with the suggestion that they forgo thier salary to help balance the budget.
