  1. It seems to me that early in the Jets game we were loading up the LOS and at least giving the impression that we were going to Blitz. As the game went on there was nothing but four guys lining up. Darnold hardly got pressured and made some plays. Why not blitz a young rookie QB? I haven’t been able to rewatch the game so I might be wrong but that’s my impression from watching it live

I am confused. Are you interested in discussing realistic alternatives or just want to beat up on Allen ? Repeatedly posters are arguing your points and you keep gravitating back to "yea but Allen was bad at Wyoming and will never be any good". Stop with the charade and just state what you really want to say.

Problem is that there is a general shortage of quality OL in the league. We may have to draft those too unless one happens to be available in FA at a position of need. I think we, at a minimum need to draft a Center as he will develop chemistry with Allen and that is good for the long term success of Allen and the O in general

I have said what I want to say perhaps you should read this time. I don't think Allen is going to be ready to start for awhile so we need a viable starter next year. Is that so hard to understand? We're going to have a high pick so I think we should grab the best available OL. Is that so hard to understand? I think we can and should find a decent wr in FA and one in the draft. Is that so hard to understand? I hope I'm wrong about Allen and have said so. Is that so hard to understand? I've asked if anyone has a better idea for a vet QB than Foles. Is that so hard to understand. Learn to read and comprehend before spouting off!

And that was 15 seasons ago.  The NFL has changed significantly since.  You got to let your rookie take his lumps...He will be much better next year.

BS Teams are realizing how easy it is to ruin rookie QBs again. Mahomes says the best thing that ever happened to him was to sit behind Smith and learn. Anybody who can't see Allen was overwhelmed and losing confidence clearly doesn't understand the game.

Tyrod would've never put up enough offense to get the Eagles to the SB. Foles got hot and made some incredible passes in the playoffs and SB. If it was Tom Brady vs Tyrod Taylor in the SB I would bet so much money on that game. I rewatched that SB about 5 times, without Foles getting hot and passing the football like he did the Patriots win that game easily.

Pretty obvious. I"ll take the a guy who beat the Patriots in the biggest game of the year any day. How many QBs have won a super bowl in the last 15 years? How many have beat Brady? Would you rather have another ex Panther or Super Bowl winning QB mentor Allen?

  5. Not talking about other rookie QBs. Talking about Allen. His passes are inaccurate even when he has lots of time. There is a reason his percentage was so low in college. Should have been a 3rd to 5th round pick project QB. Hope I'm wrong but his passes are scary. Great kid just like EJ. Inaccurate just like EJ. Hope he can be taught how to throw accurate passes but I doubt it.       It's a shame to waste such a good D. Lets get a QB who can win some games next year while Allen works on his accuracy

  6. Allen is innacuate just like at Wyoming. Doubt he’ll become a franchise QB. Hope like he’ll I’m wrong but you can’t teach accuracy. If he does become a solid QB he’ll be the only QB with such a low completion % in college to do so in the NFL in a long long time. Hope he bucks the trend but the odds are long.

Need to to figure something out for QB next year whether it’s a vet starter or backup. Haven’t heard a better plan.

  7. This year is a bust. I would get Foles via FA next year and let Allen learn behind him for however long it takes. Rogers sat behind Favre for several years before starting and it worked great. BTW NOT saying Foles is as good as Farve but he’s a hell of a lot better than any other veteran QB who will be available. Get a decent WR via FA and find another in the draft. Draft the best lineman available with our first pick and try to find a decent vet as well. Obviously need to fill some other holes as well but that’s how I would start as GM.

Not talking so much about if they are so much alike as QBs as Kelly and Marino but that they might be the future great QBs in the league and hopefully will develop a rivalry like Jimbo and Danno had. Would be great for the league and us Bills fans. They both have a long ways to go but evidently the Jets love Darnold so far and Josh is looking like the real deal and hopefully is the franchise QB we’ve all been waiting for since Jimbo retired. Go Bills!!!

Reading comprehension problems again? Reread above. Slowly?

  10. Come out of your holes, you little weasel trolls and tear this apart! Hope it happens that Josh and Sam have a long rivalry like Jimbo and Danny.  Might not but after 23 years of no playoff wins it’s fun to remember the glory days and hope that history repeats itself. Oh yeah, you weasels we’re still in diapers and don’t remember?

...screw them and post more often bud...differing opinions and respect make this place work....could care less if somebody pees on my leg ...cream rises to the top...skanks sink...welcome MORE often!......

Thanks and yes cream does rise but sometimes Sh...t does to. Especially for those who chug prune juice and Labatts Blue? Sorry couldn’t resist that.

I have a feeling most most of these classless guys never saw Jimbo and Frank play because they weren’t born yet or too young to remember. So for them there is still hope to grow up. For any others older than that I kind of doubt it. i’m  not Saying Josh is the next Jimbo but the poise, confidence and natural ability he has sure as hell reminds me of Jimbo. More than any other QB weve had since Jimbo retired. And I also see a lot of Reich in Peterman. He doesn’t have the greatest arm but he’s smart and not afraid to throw the damn ball. He also beat Clemson when they won the national championship so he’s got confidence and has shown he can do it on a big stage. Yeah he had a miserable first game but so have so many rookies and he’s only getting better as the preseason is showing. Same thing happened in his first start in college and all he did was come back and beat Clemson with a team that was not nearly as talented. He’s also supposed to be extremely smart like Frank so maybe he’ll get into coaching some day. No guarantee he’s the next Reich but I’m optimistic as hell he’s going to be. Go Bills!

..think you may have misinterpreted the premise of the thread bud.....think of it more as in the next Kelly/Reich LIKE duo.....forget individual comparatives.......a rock solid, bonafide starter with a "got your back" guy sitting by the bullpen phone I think is what we're saying.....similar to a Thurmal/Kenneth Davis LIKE duo in the backfield....

Yeah that’s my thought. For all of you who think this is a stupid thread go to another. I read here a lot but rarely post because of all the nasty responses. Everybody is entitled to there opinions and we are all Bills fans so why don’t we act maturely and discuss thing civilly. When I was growing up in the area people were much friendlier then a lot of you in this forum. Grow up!

  13. I think an organization would be stupid not factor in concussion history into's its player evaluations especially QBs given how many have had to cut their careers short and with the new policies its much more likely for them to miss more games due to concussions. NOT the only factor but definately an important one. Rosen would definitely be a risk for retiring early due to concussions and missing games. the more concussions one has the easier it is to get the next one and the damage is cumulative. Factor in that his dad is a doctor who would probably try to talk him into retiring if he's starting to get more concussions and that he doesn't need the money and i would think it was a part of the Bills decision to not draft him and I'm glad to think its on their radar.
