  1. If we want owners or Goodell to stop commenting on the stadium then we need to ask all of our local reporters to stop asking them about it.

Owners meeting? I guarantee Carucci or A.N.Other was walking around asking each owner their opinion.

Goodell is in town? what should we ask him about: Brady and the Stadium. No surprises with how he answered.

As others have said, of course he's going to back a new stadium. If we don't want to hear that answer then we need to stop asking the question.

  2. I saw one report that said if you believe the 'whispers' in the organization, EJ is #4 right now behind Tuel, Tyrod, and Cassel! Maybe they'll both be cut before OTAs.

If EJ isn't starter, it's much easier to keep Tuel as you can put him on practice squad due to games played. So it makes perfect sense that if EJ is really second to Taylor that he quickly drops to odd man out in terms of roster.

As I mentioned before I think Cassell makes the team regardless as a veteran hand.

  3. I found the articles yesterday to be lacking new news. I think there really is no change from the day Cassell was signed.

Cassell is here for veteran leadership and a steady hand. He makes the roster as starter or back-up.

That leaves Taylor and Manuel fighting for one, maybe two spots. So can't say we learned anything new from Carucci or Joe B's reports yesterday.

  4. Fred's outlasted McGahee, Spiller and Lynch. That's the main reason not to count him out.

For me, so many times we needed a play last year, Fred came through. It's a tough intangible, but I hope the coaching staff & personnel staff recognize that that goes beyong what happens in practice.

  5. ^ This

The question is: do you think he had the final football say when Gailey and his predecessors were hired? I choose to believe that Ralph was making these calls more than Brandon.

If you're like me, the main thing you get to accuse Brandon of is promoting Whaley and the hiring of Marrone. While three weeks ago, the hiring of Marrone looked questionable; a year ago, you could see the reasoning.

I back Brandon staying in place, as some form of 'president' 'chief executive' running the business side, with a director of Football type who answers less to him and more to the owners and fans. (not sure if this is Whaley, but Whaley I think deserves a shout)

  6. While I wouldn't swap him, I'm still not sure I understand the reasoning of cutting him last year. It seems like we still had plenty of cap room, and probably would not have had the issues Kolb had in terms of concussions.

I certainly would have been happier with Fitz's performance in cleveland versus Tuel.

(Thad Lewis was alright, but so hard to know the potential)

I also think that if Fitz lost the starting job via a fair competition he would have been professional.

Hard to argue him not wanting to renegotiate the contract both parties entered into willfully. Just as much as you can't argue with the Bills not wanting to renegotiate every year with Jason Peters.

  7. How many times do we hear the false statement " Do not trade the 2015 1st pick because thats our insurance in case EJ Manuel turns out not to be the guy".

This assumes that the ONLY way to obtain a QB is via rookie QB in the draft - FALSE

Some QB's not drafted by current team - signed as FA or via trade

Veterans can be obtained and can perform well especially when put on a team with plenty of weapons....

this crossed my mind around dinner time last night and made me okay by the time we actually traded away the top pick... -ha
  8. It just gets really hard as a fan to hold any faith in this franchise after 15 years of no playoffs...

    Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

When will it ever change ?

I used to be like you. A Homer. Step outside of the box and look at the big picture. Until the bills win dont keep falling for the same Bull*****

If this is how you feel, why bother coming onto the board until the Bills win? By being on here I can only assume you have some of the same hope as the poster you ridicule. If not, why waste your time on here until they win; just jump back on the bandwagon at that point.
  9. I'll agree I liked his comments on Murph's show... BUT we've never heard what the Bills offered and what his agent is demanding.

All we know for sure is that the Bills were willing to pay AT LEAST the value of the franchise tag. (Not chump change)

I also agree that the Plantar Faciitis is a tough injury from a perception sense for someone just coming back from a contract hold-out. I've had it, but it is very 'misty'

Who knows, happy to have him on our team, but want to be able to keep as many of these players around as possible.

  10. Can't afford players like him in the short-term when the team plays like they did Saturday... if we want more performances like Saturday let's get a team of Da'Rick's.

Yeah he 'might' get his s4!t together somewhere down the road, but we need to build a culture here more than we need to find out if he *maybe* makes it.... Yes if his head was screwed on I would have loved him, but then he also probably would've gotten drafted by someone else. ~we all know he wasn't going to contribute anything short term on special teams when he doesn't even know he was supposed to be on the field.

  11. I agree with Sullivan. NBC basically asked "why did Mario sign with such a loser organization that will never make the playoffs". Take the money and run?? This was an opportunity to defend his teammates and the organization.

I find being angry at Mario for his response for something that NBC said is off the mark...

eff off Harrison and NBC... that's what every response on here should say.

  12. 09/11 @ Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 pm win

09/18 Oakland Raiders 1:00 pm win

09/25 New England Patriots 1:00 pm loss

    10/02 @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 pm win

10/9 Philadelphia Eagles 1:00 pm loss

10/16 @ New York Giants 1:00 pm loss

    10/23 Bye 1:00 pm

10/30 Washington Redskins (Tor) 4:05 pm win

11/06 New York Jets 1:00 pm loss

    11/13 @ Dallas Cowboys 1:00 pm win

    11/20 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm win

11/27 @ New York Jets 1:00 pm win

12/04 Tennessee Titans 1:00 pm win

12/11 @ San Diego Chargers 4:15 pm loss

12/18 Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm win

12/24 Denver Broncos 1:00 pm win

1/01 @ New England Patriots loss

looks like 10 -6 to me. (maybe 11-5 if Pats play backups in finale)

-One win against the Patriots and/or Jets is plausible but unlikely so put me down for a loss in that game (11/27)

-Also you have us winning against both Washington and Dallas. Personally, I think we will lose one of those games; let's say 10/30 in Toronto (that reasoning says we could lose both)

-Though I think we look like the better team than Miami, I think we drop the game in Miami (11/20)

That's 7 & 9 assuming we win all the other games we should. If we drop one more we're 6 & 10. Not a huge difference between success and failure.

  13. Don't feel to bad my 24 year old daughter and mother of my grandson is a Cowboys fan

Yeah... I was assuming that your son was falling far from the tree... A couple months ago I was dating a girl from Rochester (I no longer live there), and as we were moving some of her stuff I found a Cowboys sweatshirt. I knew she wasn't a keeper then.

  14. I think everyone on this thread should go watch the press conference.

Personally I did not come to the conclusion that these articles have from the answer I heard from Nix. It's only clear about Gabbert because they asked about Gabbert, who else would have gotten strong consideration? Maybe Von Miller would have (he would have been available if Dareus was gone), but they never asked that question. What about Ponder? Fairley?

It seems like all the reporters got talking amongst themselves and came up with this conclusion, instead of thinking about the answer and the context

  15. As a business owner, I always feel it is in my best interests to find the smartest and most brilliant people to work with. Now, I could be wrong, but that doesn't seem to be Mr. Wilson's MO.

Was Donahue not widely praised when he came in? Seems like he found the people he and everybody else thought were the smartest, etc. etc.

When he got burned by that, he turned the keys over to someone he knew he could trust (Levy) while that may not have been the right move I think it's understandable after the Donahue thing.

Remember, everybody's job is easy in hindsight.

  16. What a difference between this piece of S..t and some of our own Bills. We switch to a 3-4 and you see Stroud, who has not played DE come to OTAs having lost weight so he can transition to a new position. We move Kelsey from DE, which he wasn't that good at, to OLB, he takes it in stride and will bust his ass to make the transition. Kyle Williams goes to the probowl as an alternate as a DT, we draft a natural NT, who will take some plays from Williams, yet we haven't heard Williams B word a bit.

Ummm... What about Aaron Schobel? How's he taken it?
