  1. from SBNation.....Buffalo Bills

    DT Damien Jacobs, Florida

    DB Deon Broomfield, Iowa State

    CB Darius Robinson, Clemson

    LB Darrin Kitchens, Florida

    S Kenny Ladler, Vanderbilt

    OL Jimmy Gaines, Miami

    CB Deion Blue, Alabama

    WR Alex Neutz, Buffalo

    DE Chidera Uzo-Diribe

Darius Robinson and Dieon Blue are both players although they played out of position in college.

    Both should flourish at safety.

I'm really really surprised we didn't bring in OT Tiny Richardson from Tennessee.

  2. I so hope you're wrong. I'm no scout nor do I watch college football but based on what I saw from him at the scouting combine, he is not good and not ready for the NFL.

I hope we go either TE, or Linebacker cuz those two positions are not stacked with much more talent in this year's draft. All other positions can be filled with decent value in rounds 3 and 4.

Also, with the amount of great talent in this year's draft class in areas of need for us, don't be surprised if a handful of UDFA make our 53 man roster.

Please explain to me what you see in Kouandijo. Cuz to me, he's just horrible.

    1. My dislike for Kouandijo is obvious at this point and Moses as far as I know has no hip movement. He will get beat often.

Go back and watch the Iron Bowl. He got abused all game by a true freshman. He's going to get eaten alive as a OT and won't play it at the next level.

  3. With so many TE options and us having chandler I think we have flexibility there....

Cyrus k is a great value and great fit. Potentially BPA and need. Could start day 1 and we could later in the night still grab an ASJ or a few other out of the gate #2 TEs that can grow into a #1

Need and value through the next chunk seem to be lining up great

Cyrus will be lucky to play at all this year. His knee is mangled.

  4. They're gonna get a good one...

I'm guessing Kouandjio or Moses is their hope...Seferian-Jenkins, Niklas, and Hyde after that...That's already 5...

Lawrence, Crichton and Ealy are possibilities...

But the thing that amazes me is that Hageman, Nix, and Jernigan are all still available...Would have thought at least one of them would go in the 1st...This Draft is crazy deep in the first two rounds... B-)

I like Moses but not at OT. He will be a beast at OG and I'd definitely take him.

Drugs or not I'd take a chance on Seantrel Henderson late.

  5. Okay, we did such a good job in round 1, we'll move to round 2. You choice, with a one sentence explanation.

    And I'll go first:

Morgan Moses - Bills address tackle needs in round two.

Moses isn't an OT at the next level.

There are 3 guys who I like still on the board.

    OT Cyrus Kouandijo

    OT/G Joel Bitonio

    DE Stephon Tuitt

Tuitt would be a great pick.

Cyrus is going to fall because his knee has been savaged by surgeries at bama.

He also has no lateral quickness and is consistently beat by speed rushers.

He'll kick inside to guard at the next level if he can pass a physical.

  6. I tend to believe the Bills are inclined to used their 2nd round draft choice on a QB (hopefully Mallet). By no means do I claim to be a draft guru, but if you look at tape of previous QBs at the collegiate level there is absolutely no reason to believe this guy will not succeed in the NFL. However, I do realize that he has personality issues, and their are some concerns over drug use that must be examined before even considering him as our pick. I truly believe that the first round pick will be either Von Miller, or Robert Quinn...yes I said it. With our second round choice there are so many directions we can go in. Phil Taylor, who many people were salivating over during senior bowl week, has seen his stock drop immensely because of knee issues. This guy is a stud and would be worth taking a look at. Imagine grabbing Robert Quinn/ Phil Taylor in first two rounds? You cannot tell me that our defensive side would not be greatly improved, especially penetration wise (which is undeniably our biggest issue). Ultimately, there are many other notable options at our number 2 pick. Please share your opinion on what direction the Bills will go in the second round, but I am also curious to see who you believe our first rounder will be on as well.

Ryan Mallet is this draft's Ryan Leaf.

  7. DT Nick Fairley - Was the most dominant defensive player in a decade in the decade's most dominant conference in the NCAA. Man of great character, a leader on and off the field, unbelievable work ethic and great motor. Any negative stuff you've heard about him is laughable (He's a dirty player. LOL).

QB Cam Newton. See above but add that he just might be the most athletic and most resilient QB to ever come out of college football. My hunch is that he's going to Carolina at no. 1 because they aren't stupid enough to listen to rhetoric and ignore the facts on the field.

CB Patrick Peterson - As close to a can't miss as you can get. Will start from day one and is a guy whose skills and measurables can simply be summed up with one word: Elite.

    -----

  8. If I compared there expected careers I'd say fairley will draw more Warren sapp comparisons, Dareus more Richard Seymour....

    Both fantastic.

    Our defense needs Seymour more.

Are you drunk? Fairley is a 6-5 320 who lead the SEC in sacks and TFL and is as agile as he hostile. He could play NT or DE in a 3-4 or either DT in a 4-3 and will be as or more dominant as Suh in ANY defensive scheme.

    Dareus couldn't carry Fairely's jock.

Do people not realize that Fairley didn't even play football until his SENIOR year in HS....as an offensive lineman?

Yes, that's right. He's been playing DT for three season total and is going to go no. 1 overall in the NFL draft after dominating CFB.

    Marcel Dareus? Pffft.

  9. So in other words, it is cam newton or die? Great .

that is a pretty bold statement saying Cam newton is going to become a michael jordan figure in the NFL. I am not saying the kid is going to be a bust, but be a michael jordan type? That is just waaaay out there.

Not to mention, did cam newton even declare yet? I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't declare.

i'm not saying he's the next Michael Jordan. Jesus. i'm saying that the scenario of Michael Jordan's drafting is very similar. Any team that passes up on him is going to regret for a very, very long time.

I also didn't say Cam or die. i'm making the case that he is indeed a once in a generation player at the QB.

I'm not sure he declares either but if he does I hope we don't make the mistake of passing on him.

  10. LOL, BravinSeattle. I actually like Cams personality I don't think he's really a bad guy but I love when people defend the things he's done saying they didn't happen and they need what they call "proof." Can't prove what Cam knew at a given time (but you can use your common sense). UF doesn't release private academic info (but you can trust sources and look at the student hearing set for him). The police were there but I suppose you can't prove he stole that lap top (but he admitted he knew it was stolen). It goes on and on.

But yeah this all came from Dan Mullen's wife. That and Urban controlling the NY Times. :wallbash: :wallbash: (c'mon that is bull **** you'll say anything...you must be from Alabama).

It's all moot b/c the kid can't play NFL QB anyway. :flirt:

So you are admitting that there is any proof whatsoever other than you just KNOW he did something wrong? WTF? That's common sense? Maybe where you come from it is but in the world I live in I need a little more than a "hunch.

As far as the cheating goes he did cheat. My point is that NOBODY gives a sh*t. It happened when he was frosh and he's been a model citizen since. It is not accurate to say he EVER faced expulsion because he never did. Do you have a link to an on the record source that can provide the document that shows he was scheduled for a hearing? You can't and the reporter that's using this info is a reporter that has BEEN FIRED for lying about a story.

As far as the laptop that's pretty old news but again he's been a model citizen since his freshman year in college. I honestly could not possibly care less.

And if you don't know that all of this came from Megan Mullen then you really have no idea what's going with this whole story. That was confirmed by Sports Illustrated writer who also had all of this information but chose not to write about because as he put it "It was bs from people who had an axe to grind".

No one said Urban Meyer was controlling the NY Times. I stated the fact that Peter Thamell is Urban Meyer's go to guy in the print media (Shad and Schlabach are his guys at in TV at ESPN) and he coordinated his story with his very close friend Thayer Evans.

What about my username leads you to believe that I live in Alabama? Prolly that same crack detective work that's got you to the point where you don't need "proof" but just a good "hunch" in order to decide if someone has done something wrong.

If you're wondering how I know so many details on this situation it comes from a source in NCAA compliance.

You absolutely have ZERO idea what you are talking about and I do.

    I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance.

As far as the Bills go, I'd like to see more than one year of quality program play with no personal "smoke" from Cam before annointing him a once-in-a-decade, can't miss, high 1st round pick with great leadership and character and all that stuff. He's played great 1 year.

    Maybin played great 1 year.

    Like to exaggerate much?

How many years did Michael Jordan do it at UNC?

And for the record to compare Aaron Maybin's year to arguably the greatest year by a QB in a generation (NCAA record for passing efficiency, over 4,000 yards of total offense, led the SEC in rushing as a QB) doesn't make alot of sense but

if Cam actually had a Madden-like season the year before when he won the JUCO national championship and had even better numbers.

To comprehend the season he had against the competition that he achieved it against makes it even more impressive.

Also, I didn't say he was can't miss. NO ONE is can't miss. He's also not once in a decade type talent. He is a once in a generation type player. Think Elway but much faster, more physical and with the moves of a tailback.

If you don't get that and dismiss it as simple exaggeration then I can't help you.

let's add another example to his fine charachter......i'm sure he new nothing of this either (cough)

    http://rivals.yahoo....rn=ncaaf-306263

Don't you have to provide me something where he said he didn't know anything about his father coming if you are going to insinuate that he said he didn't know his father was coming and lied about it?

That article says the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR didn't know and he did not receive tickets from the University.

But again this is something his FATHER did and not Cam and in your warped belief system this apparently is an example of a character flaw in the son???

if we were going to go the Cam route, we should've drafted Tebow last year. I know, Cam is a better pure passer (not by much though) than tebow, but Tebow craps on him in all other accounts.

Lets drop the Cam talk. We pick at 3, and it's not happening..unless he's there in the 2nd round.

Tebow craps on Cam in all other accounts? Are you drunk? What statistics or metric are you using to determine that because NOTHING exists to support that opinion.

who the F cares about cam. People, unless you haven't realized, we have the #3 pick, not the 25th or 30th pick. Unless you guys plan on trading all the way down, and in doing so passing up on the likes of Fairley, Dareus, or Bowers, just to draft a QB who in all honestly does not translate well to the NFL, you're out of your F'ING MIND.

Well said. Fairley appears to be a have a screw loose up there, but he'll help you win games on Sunday. That's all I care about.

If Cam does come out he will be a top 5-10 pick after his combine and pro day performances. It also looks like Fairley is going to go no. 1 overall with Bowers going no. 2. I guess you could take CB Patrick Peterson (Who Cam humiliated on the run of the year vs LSU when he OUTRAN a Cb with 4.4 speed to the endzone - think about that btw). Like Olajuwon, he'll be a good player. I'd rather draft Michael Jordan, in this case he's Cam Newton.

  11. I don't have a dog in this fight, but my God, the guy was kicked out of FLORIDA!!! And he was the top recruit in the freaking country! I have nothing against Florida as an institution of higher learning, but the football program there has one goal and one goal only -- to win national championships. You've gotta to be a pretty bad apple to get kicked out of there with that kind of rep. They don't take the decision to say adios to a blue chip recruit very lightly.

He was never kicked out of Florida. The source for that story - written by Thayer Evans (A reporter that was FIRED by the Houston Chronicle for fabricating a story about some extravagant party hosted by Texas for a bunch of recruits that didn't happen) is not exactly a journalist.

In fact - people familiar with the situation confirmed that Cam Newton had never been before the disciplinary board and was not in fact EVER facing expulsion.

Plus, I cheated on a paper when I was 17 I'm sure. I'd guess 90% of this board did as well.

Can anyone give me anything this kid (Not his father) has done since his days at UF that warrant labeling him a character risk? Kid has been a model citizen since he left there.

  12. seeing as the NCAA themselves are NOT credible...i doubt anything but FBI and court documents would suffice:

The NCAA and FBI have taken notice of Cecil Newton

Did you reallyjust post a story from TMZ in response to a request to provide something credible? hahahahahaha. That's awesome.

Also, TMZ is the ONLY news outlet to report this fantasy that was invented on a message board and it's bs.

The fact is the there is an FBI investigation but it's target is Kenny Rogers. You're also correct about an NCAA investigation but they are investigating Miss. State as to why they continued to recruit a student-athlete after receiving a solicitation for benefits by Kenny Rogers allegedly on behalf if Cecil Newton.

Also, the quote you are attributing to Cam about the money being too much at Auburn is from a completely discredited story by Joe Schad of ESPN. He's the guy that - just in the past month - also announced Mike Leach had accepted the job at Maryland (Randy Edsall is the new HC), Gus Malzahn has accepted the HC job at Vandy (Steve Franklin is the new HC there), Jon Gruden has been hired as the next HC at Miami (Al Golden is the new HC), and Les Miles would accept the HC job at UM if offered (Brady Hoke is their new HC) and who could forget the announcement that Bob Stoops HAD SIGNED A CONTRACT to become the next HC at Notre Damw?

Also, Schad's story used two anonymous sources which have since been revealed as Jody Wright, a current GA at Alabama and former Assoc. AD at Miss. St., , and Dan Mullen's wife Megan. Jody Wright told Schad that Megan Mullen told HIM that Cam said this. The NCAA looked into this the week of the UGA game and interviewed both Wright and Mullen. Mullen said she never heard Cam say anything like that and would not corroborate Wright's story.

The NCAA looked into all of this stuff in July of 2010 and again when people at Alabama started pushing this story (GA's don't take it upon themselves to start leaking info to ESPN on their own) to ESPN and Urban Meyer started pushing it to his hero worshiping lap dogs at the NY Times (Thayer Evans of FoxSports used to work at the NY Times with the person he has been coordinating pieces with - Peter Thamell.).

Cam Newton absolutely did not know anything about this solicitation - Which is one of the main reasons he is eligible at AUBURN (He would not be eligible at Miss. St. since the solicitation took place there not at the school he enrolled at) and of there was ANY evidence to the contrary it would have been found by now.

So to be clear the argument you are making is that because his FATHER has character issues we should not draft a once in a generation QB?

    Gotcha.

  13. So, is his game closer to Vince Young, or Warren Moon?

The former had the exact same stats/one liners/hype before he was drafted. The latter was willing to go to Canada, play and persevere, and made the most of his opportunity. The former is done, the latter is a Hall of Famer.

To be honest I think he's closer to John Elway but much faster and with the moves of a RB.

  14. Win a big game? At Alabama this year? SEC Championship game? Those are pretty big games. Come from behind? Auburn has come from behind in 8 games to win but the biggest was likely the Alabama game after being down 24-7 to win it 28-27.

He is a once in a generation athlete who set an NCAA record for passing effeciency who is 6-6 250 and run a legit 4.4 40.

Passing on him for anyone else will be the equivalent to teams passing on Michael Jordan for Clyde Drexler and Sam Bowie.

He instantly gives this team a chance to win every game, he has no character issues and is a born leader.

His pro day, combine and BCS performance tonight will likely push him to the no. 1 pick with Luck being out. You prolly don't believe that but it's true.

  15. This franchise will know what it feels like to be the Portland Trailblazers if we pass on QB Cam Newton out of Auburn. The guy is the Michael Jordan of the upcoming NFL draft and taking anyone else would be tantamount to picking C Sam Bowie from Kentucky if he's still on the board.

6-6 250 runs a legit 4.5/40 and has the moves of a RB to go with an accurate and cannon of an arm.

He's more than a franchise QB. He's a franchise transforming QB and a once in a generation athlete.

Whatever we need on defense can be found toward the end of the first round where we should trade our 2nd and another pick for a pick around the 25- 28 range.

  16. The Bills sure have taken a lot of greif on NFL Network and ESPN for not addressing thier "needs" in the 2010 draft. I believe they have been doing exactly what they should. The QB's available (beyond Bradford) should not have taken where the Bills picked. I do believe CJ Spiller was the best available. Looking down the road to who might be available at QB in the draft next year, we have Jake Locker and Christian Ponder. Mr Nix and Mr Whaley have to be sharp enoough to know the Bills should be in position to get one of these guys. Here are the bottom ten teams in the NFL listed with their current QB, their chances of drafting a QB #1 and listed by their odds of reaching the Super Bowl this year. Bills fans, I think their is a franchise QB on the horizon.

Denver drafted Time Tebow 2010, not likely

Carolina have Matt Moore, drafted Jimmy Claussen, not likely

Cleveland Jake Delhomme, likely but could be better than the Bills

    Detroit Matthew Stafford, not likely

Kansas City paid a ton to get Cassel, not likely

Oakland Jason Campbell, likely, but with their

defense should finish higher than the Bills

    Tampa Bay Freeman, not likely

St Loius Sam Bradford, not likely

Overall, I'd say the Bills will be in position for one of the top QB's, both considered first rounders

I think if we miss out on drafting Jake the Snake that Ryan Mallet of Arkansas would be the next QB off the board.

    Definitely not Ponder.
