  1. My understanding was that it is a 3 year deal that can void to a 2 year deal so he's ours for at least 2 years regardless of how this year goes.

Edit; Yes, here is the void detail:

The most interesting piece of the contract, also tied to Taylor's playing time, is a voidable clause. If Taylor plays in over 50 percent of the Bills' plays in either 2015 or 2016, and remains on the roster five days following the 2016 Super Bowl, the third year of the contract voids. This clause would allow, if he received significant playing time in either 2015 or 2016, Taylor to become a free agent for 2017.

  2. Ever since Harvin was signed it's been obvious that there's no role for Goodwin. And really, is there any demand for him in the NFL? Seems like Goodwin can read the writing on the wall. I don't think anyone needs to worry about how he'll fit the Beijing meet in with preseason football ...

While this may be the case, a guy who is #52 on an NFL roster makes about 100 times more than a track and field athlete. It's all about the Olympics and loving the sport. There isn't (a lot of) money to be had there.

  3. Rich asked him about his "no Lebron at QB" comment. Rex said that we don't have a #1, 2, or 3 guy in the league but we have capable guys.

Rich asked if Tyrod Taylor had a chance to start. Rex said "absolutely!". All three guys have had their moments.

Asked if this was the best offensive team that he has had. He said that he wasn't sure and cited the offensive line when he arrived at the Jets.

Stated that he hasn't seen some guys on the field yet due to injury (Sammy, Gilmore, Leodis) but we are a very good team without them and they will only make us that much better.

Asked about who he was surprised by on the roster. He aaid Jerry Hughes. Said the defensive line is all Pro Bowlers and he is as good as any of them. Also said they have a "little guy" named Nickell Robey who can flat out play.

Said that Gilmore will take a huge jump up this year and that he has been impressed with Bradham.

Asked about corners switching off on the top receiver or staying on their side. Mentioned Revis was the best ever at that but took the opportunity to say Gilmore will be in that conversation this year.

Excited about Darby. Said the big knock was that no one threw on him in college and said there was a reason for that and they were glad to get him in the second round.

  4. True. But my point to the poster was that the fifth WR position is still open. If Pryor at 6'4" 230 could show anything at WR in camp, he'd be an intriguing match up option...

As the previous guy said, I was not saying they were great but they all have multiple years of experience at the position over a guy like Pryor who Goodwin runs faster, Hogan runs better routes, Thigpen returns kicks, Lewis is pretty much what you're looking to get out of Pryor but younger with much more experience. They all have a decided advantage over someone switching positions and learning on the fly in the NFL.

  5. I might take my daughter if I can find something suitable for the other non Bills fan daughter to do. I've heard it was a bit of a drunken good time in years past but without a first round pick I would hope it to be more family friendly.

  6. It is definitely entry level. You will be selling single game tickets, fulfilling ticket orders, working on mailings, logging complaints during and after games, helping people with the account manager log ins, etc...

Yeah that's what the posting sounded like but also talked about leadership skills and such and is a "coordinator" instead of rep or agent. I didn't have my hopes up but who wouldn't want to work for the Bills? haha

  7. CBS has his ranked 9th among the guards in the 4/5 round range. The write-up:

STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES While he may lack elite athleticism, Miller demonstrates intelligence, sound technique and toughness in the trenches with enough quickness in a short area to be a reliable pass-protector when asked to slide and mirror interior rushers, and his initial burst off the snap enables him to get to the 2nd level and target efficiently.

From a technical standpoint, Miller exhibits good bend in his lower half and is rarely overwhelmed as he keeps his feet moving, resets without wasted motion, and establishes good extension to keep defenders out of his frame. Another mid-round type of prospect who's durability and consistency could make him a terrific pro.

    --Derek Stephens (8/18/14)

    PLAYER OVERVIEW

A 34-game starter in his Louisville career, Miller earned second-team All-AAC honors starting all 13 games at left guard last year as the Cardinals offense put up 35.2 points, and 460.8 yards per contest.

  8. One of the greatest offensive minds in the history of the NFL was a defensive guy when hired. Previous to being hired he had been a DB and player/DC for the New York Giants. HOF Tom Landry.

When hiring a HC this whole offensive/defensive guy thing is overblown. How can a guy be a good defensive coach if he doesn't understand offense very well and vice versa?

On the opposite side is Juan Castillo. Career offensive coach. Eagles made him defensive coordinator a few years ago and everyone said "what?!?!?". It was a horrible trainwreck and he was fired after the season.

  9. No way Alonso and bradhan are olb's in his scheme

I was just using current personnel and said Mario would have to move to an OLB spot. I think Bradham could handle the other. Not sure how Kiko would fit but you'd have to make room for him. My point is there no reason to blow up this defense and that is almost assured with Rex.

  10. With current personell and re-signing Spikes and Searcy, the defense would look like:

    Williams-Williams-Dareus

    Bradham-Spikes-Brown-Alonso

    Gilmore-McKelvin (Graham)

    Williams-Searcy

Would most likely let Hughes walk. Mario may move to OLB position he left Houston because of and we'd need to find a true NT to replace Kyle. Also would need another DE fit or the 3-4 scheme to start. The linebackers look good for Rex but that's a lot of change on a unit that doesn't need it.

  11. that was my hidden gem. The steelers had this guy groomed and ready in the wings. I can't wait for us to have that

What do you mean they had him groomed and ready in the wings? He was an outside hire after one year of being Minnesota's defensive coordinator and never was in the Steelers organization?
