  1. Other poster said 2 weeks ago. Unless he has 2 accounts it's an odd coincidence.

Brother in law knows border agent. I am not about to come on here and say this "for sure happened" just scared me seeing someone else is saying this. I hoped at one point this was a bad rumor, but seeing an additional person who I dont know saw same thing has me thinking.

  2. we need to fill just 5 holes.....thats right, just 5.

3 from free agency and 2 from the draft.

    LT, QB, LB, DT, LB

who is your other 2 lbs in a 3-4? Who are your #2 and #3 Wrs? If we go 3-4 we dont have a nose or 3-4 ends. More holes then you think

  3. He thinks maybe Gailey convinced the Bills they can win with Edwards. Jesus how much longer before people get that this clown is worthless as an NFL QB? I mean seriously, he wouldn't have ever started in the NFL if not for Jauron. Average arm, below average ability to read a defense, a pure chicken **** when it comes to pulling the trigger on tough passes and throwing with anticipation.

Man I really hope the nix and Gailey have finding a new QB at the top of their list.

    source?

  4. As the fast-paced courtship of Chan Gailey by the Buffalo Bills appears to be headed to its climax on Tuesday -- with a press conference scheduled for 2 p.m. -- the momentum shifts next to who he'll bring along as his assistants.

If Gailey dips into his past experience -- especially his most recent NFL head-coaching gig with the Dallas Cowboys -- there are certain names that jump right out as speculative possibilities. One option for his offensive coordinator could be Clarence Shelmon, who currently holds the same position with the San Diego Chargers. Shelmon has a connection to both Gailey and new Bills GM Buddy Nix. As for the defensive coordinator, one name to keep in mind is George Edwards, who was recently promoted to be the DC at the University of Florida. While the ink on his new promotion certificate isn't even dry yet, we know how easy it is for some coaches to renege on deals to take a better offer elsewhere.

A final speculative possibility to join the staff is Jim Jeffcoat, currently the defensive line coach at the University of Houston. Jeffcoat concluded his playing days with a few seasons in Buffalo, and he could be interested in a promotion. One mitigating factor is his son, Jackson, who is one of the nation's top recruits, and is still considering signing with the Cougars.

Also thurman tweeted his staff is already in place..maybe he will announce it at the presser?

  5. Sounds like Schefter's got a personal vandetta against the Bills. He tries to shoot down any reports about anyone who is interested in Buffalos HC vacancy

You homers are ridiculous...one of these national media guys reports that people wont/arent coming here and they have vendetta against the bills all of a sudden. THIS JOB BLOWS!!! They HC reports to a 70yrold first time GM...yeah i mentioned his age...everyone always asks why i do that...cause he is starting a new career/position for the first time at 70!! What other team of the 32 does that? That 70yr old rookie gm reports to a d3 football player/ baseball marketing whiz! And that person reports to a 91yr old owner who wants to waste the HC's time by going over gameplans!! How is this appealing to anyone?!?! Its not all random that all candidates reject offers/interviews from us...the word is out around the league that this is a TERRIBLE situation to put yourself in and your better off waiting for one of the 30 good jobs to open! Deal with it people. All you can do is be optimistic a succession plan exists and well rise to prominence again under a new owner cause its not happening with this guy!

  6. Quadry Ishmael (sp) was on espn radio this morning and was asked why everyone was turning down the bills coaching job. Ishmael did not cite the city, lack of talent currently on the team, lack of qb, etc.

Ishmael said the feeling around the league was that the bills "lacked a commitment to win" and no coach wants to go into a situation where the team was not committed to winning.

DONT SAY THAT HERE...all the homers on this site get very mad when you say bad things about this "proud franchise"

  7. Just a little tidbit for ya. In the last ten years of bowl games between the Big Ten and SEC, the SEC leads 17-16. Although the Big Ten hasn't had a National Championship winner lately, I really don't think the conference is in awe of the SEC.

every watch a big 10 game? They are slow and plodding teams...just boring football

  8. The NFL has turned into a real snobby p u s s y league, what happened to coaches and player that would love to be in a REAL football town?

Now they all want to go to warm weather cities with a night life and spas and all the other fruity crap these modern day warriors crave. Players, Coaches, pussies.

weather has nothing to do with it...you think if the GB job popped open schotty and anyother candidate woudlnt be falling over themselves to get that job. Its about the roster and wether or not they will be given the opportunity to suceed. Something that hasnt exactly been a selling point around here for the past decade

  9. I mentioned this a few days ago, it is absolutely crazy to me how many people have blatantly turned down the opportunity to coach for the Bills. A few posters rejected my opinion and said that until the playoffs are over, there is no way to tell who is and who is not interested.

Well, THIS rejection shows that B. Schott isn't interested now or after the Jets lose to the Chargers. And, its true, IMO he isn't even one of the top OC's in the league. He has a big name, the best O-line in football, 3 top RBs and Braylon Edwards. And they still lost to the Bills.

I also stated in the past that in reality, the opportunity to coach the Bills should seem more palpable to potential coaches.

But the perception around the league is that it is a terrible franchise to work for. A place where careers go to die. Ralph's chickens are finally coming home to roost.

  10. That makes a lot of sense. He interviewed for the Jets head coaching job last year and obviously didn't get it. Yet he stayed on to coach. If you had any pride, you would have left. He just sounds like a guy who is happy to be an assistant. That is definitely not a guy we need here. and it's not like we talking about some offensive genius here either. his gameplan is just run the ball behind a great oline and keep his QB from passing. Not too hard.

Of course it couldnt possibly be that this is a bottom 5 job in the nfl...that has NOTHING to do with it.

  11. These kind of tweets aren't even funny anymore.

I know but come on...who would believe this? They guy is getting DESTROYED by the national media for jumping ship to USC, and poeple actually believe hes going to interview for the bills job less then 12 hours after accepting the USC job? Really?!?!

I am trying to get myself to relax about the whole coaching search. I dont think well have a hire til the middle of next week at the earliest. I dont think any more interview requests/or actual interviews will be done for a while. Once the jets get knocked off and they interview schotty, same for grimm. i will resume wearing out the f5 button for twitter feeds, pft, and tbd.

  12. To the ladies and gentlemen of this board:

The national media does not have a vendetta against buffalo. They are not trying to hammer little buffalo with every shot they get. Every time a clayon carucci or king comes out and says buffalo wont land a big name coach, many people on this board freak out and say they hate buffalo or attact their reporting skills. On the PTI thing today, King said he spoke to a candidate who was NOT impressed with the Nix hire. So is King lying? Believe it or not these national media people have contacts and sources! Is it that hard to believe they talk to people close to a cowher who tells them he doesnt want the job? Clayton and King are hated because they are skeptical the best coach available wont come to buffalo. Yet some dude in a basement in florida is "the only one ill listen to" on this board. Well im sorry ill take the guys with years of credibility and work in the business over a guy with a buffalo source. If you guys only want to read or be told what you want to hear, then simply listen to chris brown on buffalobills.com.

Why is it so hard to believe that a big coach like a cowher or billick wouldnt want to coach players drafted by a 70yr old first time GM? Have you looked at this roster? What would the new coach be building with? We have a promising LG, RB, and WR. Thats it for offense, we dont have any wrs on this roster outside of evans and out other promising guard destroyed his leg. What would you be building with? Defense we have a promising secondary and a bad front 7. Not to mention we have a 91yr old owner to meddles with coaching decisions. Ultimately i hope and am still open to the idea of us actually landing cowher....i hope this is all posturing by his camp for more money...but im also pretty realistic..something some of you guys should try!

  13. though the AP backed off a little on the "firing," we still quoted the person familiar with the decisions as saying that the coaches were "fired."

    jw

Hey j-dubs..whats your GUT feeling as to what is going to go down here. How about a top 1 in order of who you think is the head coach come opening day?

  14. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...over-semantics/

Earlier today, FOX's Jay Glazer reported that the Bills had fired their entire coaching staff.

The Bills responded with a statement explaining that the coaches are still under contract, that they are free to seek other work, and that their status will be determined by the new head coach, if they haven't already found other work. While seeking other work. Or finding other work.

Glazer has now responded, making it crystal clear that the coaches have been fired.

"The Bills assembled the entire coaching staff in a room Monday morning and new general manager Buddy Nix informed all the coaches that they all had to clean out their offices and remove their belongings from the team facility no later than Wednesday," Glazer tells FOXSports.com. "Not only that, when the coaches left the room, there were boxes outside the hallway they could use to put their stuff in to clear out.

"The coaches were also told that while they would like for teams to still go about the proper protocol and ask for permission to speak with them if interested in hiring, NOT ONE REQUEST would be denied. The Bills even addressed insurance ramifications in the meeting - a conversation usually reserved for coaches being whacked.

"In reality, if the entire staff is gathered in a room and told they had to be gone and gone by Wednesday and boxes were waiting for them. . . . Hey, if it looks like a firing and sounds like a firing, you get the gist. Not sure why they went out of their way to dispute it, but if they want to get into semantics that's fine."

So that's the bottom line. The coaches have been fired -- and the Bills for some reason are trying to make it look like they haven't been fired.

  15. He still sucks.

Watched his post game show yesterday. It was almost unwatchable. Long breaks to play music and watch him dance. Stupid little games where he has people type things in the chat. Just talk about the game/coach news! Really bad will not watch again. Ill give him credit for his scooping big name media people on the cowher talks, but cant put together a good show.
