  1. I'm all for wishing Bledsoe the best of luck... he's a class guy, and

    while I thought him a relatively-inneffective QB in Buffalo, I don't

    wish him any ill...

I just never "got into" Peerless... A little too showboaty for me, but

    that's just one man's opinion...

Having said that, I can think of very few teams I wish worse on than the Cowboys...

  2. I have, in fact, made a beach CD... It included many of the songs mentioned above... A few others:

Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison or Jimmy Buffett

Jump in the Line - Harry Belafonte (although he has many other songs that would do)

Under the Boardwalk - someone mentioned the original (The Drifters), but John Mellancamp also does a killer version...

Sittin On The Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding

Smooth - Santana with Rob Thomas

    Enjoy !

  3. Anyone else picturing Andywierling sitting there dumbfounded at the direction this thread has taken since his initial post?

    ok - Now I'm sorry I asked... :D

In any case, I believe he can play both RB and FB... and we have a need for a backup at both positions... (I'm a big fan of Joe Burns, being a GA Tech fan, but he's NOT a FB)...

  4. It seems like, even in the first round, there's about a 50/50 chance of QBs of turning out good-great...

If we look at recent drafts when more than 1 QB was picked in Round 1:

    2003:

Carson Palmer - so far, decent

Byron Leftwich - should be good, at least

Kyle Boller - not shown much

    Rex Grossman - who knows

    2002:

David Carr - Could be good

    Joey Harrington - Incomplete

    Patrick Ramsey - Ok.

    1999:

Tim Couch - Out Of Football

    Donovan McNabb - Great

    Akili Smith - OOF

    Daunte Culpepper - Great

    Cade McNown - OOF

    1995:

    Steve McNair - Great

    Kerry Collins - Good

    Even back to 1983:

    John Elway - Great

    Todd Blackledge - Bust

    Jim Kelly - Great

    Tony Eason - Decent

    Ken O'Brien - Decent

    Dan Marino - Great

You may quibble with some of my individual assessments, but the fact remains...

    it's a bit of a crapshoot...

  5. Smartest answer you're going to get here is: you need to talk to your company's lawyer about this.  In a rational society, you should be able to fire her on the spot...but we don't necessarily live in a rational society, and she may or may not have legal protections.

But this is a topic that's FAR beyond posting on a football board.

We are FAR from a rational society when it comes to anything having to do with lawyers...

A lady at my wife's company was habitually late, leaving early, long lunches, etc... All performance reviews were horrible, and multiple attempts to provide a "plan" to improve her performance met with no success... The final straw was when they found her smoking pot in the stairwell at work (Did I mention she was 6 months pregnant?!)... Long story short - they fired her, then got sued for wrongful termination... As always, and you know they count on this, it was cheaper to settle than to fight it...

Don't assume anything... get your company lawyer to help plan anything you intend to do...

  6. I third (or fourth) the suggestion for Dell... Have bought several, and have always been very pleased... Good prices... Good support...

If you decide to go that way, go to Dell.com and sign up for some of their email newsletters, especially the one for Small Business... You'll get email "coupons" once every week or two, which can make a good deal better... Typically coupons might be $100 or $200 off certain systems, or 15-20% off of certain systems... You can often also combine that offer with an offer of free shipping, etc... You can build a killer rig for $1000 - a very good one for < $600.

You can also check out sites like

    Fatwallet

Look in their Hot Deals forum - there are always postings in there of some configuration that is dirt cheap...

Also, with "Black Friday" coming up (day after Thanksgiving), there is always the potential for deals at retailers...

    Good luck !

  7. friday is the only day he practiced this week... what WR do we have on the practice squad???  who else can we put in there, realisticly...

"Freddie" Smith is on the practice squad (7th round pick this year). We also just signed WR Kahlil Hill to the practice squad as well, but I would think it unlikely he'd be promoted before Freddie.

  8. Believe it or not, there is a web-site devoted to televison shows on dvd.  It is pretty informative, with lists of everything available, and upcoming release dates.  I found it while trying to find the origianal "Kung Fu" series on dvd.

    The address is, cleverly enough:

    www.tvshowsondvd.com

    67165[/snapback]

As an aside... There's a huge sale at Amazon on some TV series on DVD... They have the first year of: 24, Buffy, simpsons, Futurama, Roswell, Angel, & King of the Hill... All are $14.99... Regularly up to $59.99...
