The reason GB (#6) plays Atl (#1) is because the lowest ranking team plays the highest...correct me if wrong. Sticking to my original prediction at the end of the season ;)

  2. Looking at the NFL standings, I get a very bad feeling we will end up playing the JV Jets next Sunday. With a win this week the jets get to win # 11, putting them out of reach for all the other WC chasers who could only get to 10 if they win out.

This would such a letdown to me. We have improved a lot the last 6 weeks, but we haven’t exactly played that many great teams either. 3 of our 4 wins are going to be against top 10 drafters, and even Miami has had a rough streak as of late – but at least they were above .500.

Playing a meaningful game vrs a division rival needing a win to make the playoffs – now that’s a barometer. If we win, I would feel great, if we lost, I could stomach it as we just aren’t a playoff team yet and we get a top 5 pick. But if they lay down and play the JVs? Even if we win I will feel disgusted and disrespected. Then we are drafting outside the top 10, its completely lose lose.

PS: I don’t really see us beating the best team in the NFL this week, and it really won’t bother me if we don’t, but if we do, that’s awesome. I just think we have a legit shot to take down the Jets but if they play the JVs that would really be urine in my corn flakes.

They are 4 - 10 and you have a Bad Feeling with 2 games left, WOW what an enlightening post

  3. I am with you Buddy!

I think in the end the 3 QB's on the Bills will be Edwards, Brohm and Brown... Fitz will be traded or cut... They will not go with 2 of the last regimes QB's they need to change culture and Fitz is off man out.. Brohm while he was picked late off Green Bay Practice Squad Last year, Maybe Buddy Nix had his hand in that a bit, So I think it will be Edwards, Brohm and Brown

  4. Am I consumed by this because there's really no sports going on right now?

I know some other people on this board are in the same seat right?

Who Gives A Rats Ass, this is a football board what the hell, NBA died when Braves Left screw them all

  5. Pete, i want Roscoe to succeed too. DJ didn't know how to use him. In all of football there must be at least a few offensive coordinators who know how to use a WR of his size and speed. Gailey is a creative one and he will find a way to use Roscoe. If it wasn't for Gailey being here i think Roscoe would have seen his last days as a Bill. But Chan has a history of making the most out of some player positions. I hope for the best and i'm optimistic about what might happen.

When I first saw Roscoe in training camp his first year, I had never in person seen anyone who was as quick as he is. I have been totally confused to why DJ could not find ways to use this guy, to the extent of almost completely taking him off the team and benching him most of the time. It made no sense at all, I am excited that Gailey looks to utilize his talents!

  6. The announcer draft is on WGR on a day where stories are out about the Bills getting a left tackle and I was covering rookie camp all day. I'm not here to talk crap, but you should tune to Hometown WECK 1230 AM (streaming at www.weck1230.com)

Special occasion, Brad's going to take calls... about FOOTBALL (716.783.9325)

    Nick

Bulldog is a moron, and Schoop is condescending to his audience, the man thinks he is highly intelligent, but has the mind and temperament of a 10 year old, it is by far the worse Radio team on local or national stage. I do not know how the continue with their show, They have always had an AXE to grind against the Bills, I think Schoop likes to think he is above the rest of us.

  7. As the Schobel saga continues to drag on here is a quick idea. What we have about Schobel is that he is sick of losing and wants to be closer to home . How about trading him to the saints with a Mid rouNDn pick for J brown. Perhaps playing for a super bowl contender and closer to home will get him fired up to play for a few more season. The saints would like to add a pass rusher and clearly are gearing up for life after Brown . Ok now fire away

Who gives a Rats Ass about Schobel, he is the most overrated Bills player in the last 10 years. He has some good stats, but when has he consistently played Big In Big Games most of his Sacks came when Bills where out of Games, Much inflated He was never good against the run, CUT his ASS

  8. It is not like the Buffalo Bills need a QB or anything...Raiders making much stronger picks and picking up a solid QB.

San Diego gets a NT in Cam Thomas that is arguably BETTER then Trouple 3 ROUNDS later.

Bills could have grabbed Clausen in Round 2 and STILL got a NT.

    Simply unbelievable.

I can really say, even the Lions are having a great day, Buffalo is now the cesspool of the NFL when it comes to organizations.

This is the lowest of the low.

Get a Life go get in line to Jump with the rest of the Moron's Good Riddence

  9. Go ahead and make fun of me but Freddie will be the odd man out. I know he was better than Lynch last year but he is almost 30 without the speed of Spiller or the power of Lynch. I know he is a Buffalo guy. But he also represents everything that was wrong with Buffalo under DJ and Levy -drafting and playing guys that are either too small, too slow, too white, or too old to play. I'd be shocked if Lynch is traded at this point unless someone is willing to give up an experienced offensive lineman for him. I think Lynch/Spiller will be the Buffalo version of Thunder and Lightning.

Did you watch any Games last year? Jackson will be {barring injuries} Game DAY One Starter...

  10. Almost this entire board give props to Buddy Nix, saying things like how much better he'll be than previous GMs, I trust Buddy to do the right thing, Buddy won't make the same old mistakes etc.

But, I am very disappointed to hear his comments about moving around in the draft. He said in a recent press conference that we don't really look to move much, and "I don't know where some of those guys know where they even draft." It got a chuckle from those listening. Nix has very little interest in that option, rather moving up or down. He said "we'll most often just sit where we are and draft from there". But, this reeks of not getting full value of player vs. draft slot. It's almost like Buddy was just too set in his ways, or tired, or old to even want to bother with it. He just doesn't want to "work" the draft. Very troubling comment.

New England has proven that if you know how to do this manuever, it will benefit you. Adam Schefter also, on local, Denver radio, summarized that the Broncos got the net effect of an additional 3rd rounder by all of their moves. The great Dallas teams of the 90's under Jimmy Johnson (I know we hated them) were master's of this practice, and the results were obvious.

Now, I'm not condemning his draft picks (yet) because we just don't know yet. But, it is an inherent disadvantage not to move up or down if/when the situation warrants it and you don't bother. It is not working the draft to your largest advantage.

Maybe Bad news for you and the Chicken Littles of this board. I do not give a Monkey's ASS how he does it as long as he builds a team to be proud of it, GO NIX and GAILEY

  11. It strikes me that what we're seeing is almost exactly the template that Parcells brought to Miami, with success.

Step one, hire smart, experienced, and creative coaches on offense, to mask your deficiencies with scheme.

Second, rebuild the o line. This was started last year, and it will continue. In fact Parcells is now rebuilding his line for the second time. The obvious difference here is no Jake Long. It's a big difference, but there must be a plan here.

Third, use a dynamic playmaker in the backfield. Spiller can do everything that Ronnie Brown can, and he's more explosive.

Fourth, draft and sign big nasties to anchor the 3-4. Done, and it's about time.

Fifth, generate pressure packages with athletic linebackers. I expect that this will be a focus of Day 3 and the rest of the offseason.

Finally, take a patient approach to the QB issue. Parcells was willing to give the keys to Pennington for a couple of years. Folks, Trent Edwards is nobody'd first choice but he's really not too different from Pennington as a game manager.

Personally, I find the new approach refreshing. Looking forward to Day 3 and the rest of the offseason.

I totally agree with this and I wish this board could have more like us and less of the sniffling Chicken Littles, what a bunch of wusses, Thank YOU

  12. Arkansas State DE Alex Carrington

"BCS team" tackles and guards received a rude awakening at the Senior Bowl when an unknown, if hulking 6-5, 284-pound end with the last name of Carrington lined up opposite them. Observers called Carrington the best defensive player in Mobile, which wouldn't have surprised anyone in the Sun Belt. Carrington, a four-year starter, was the conference's player of the year in 2008, closing out his final two seasons with a whopping 33.5 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks. Despite abnormally short arms, Carrington is a true bull rusher with plenty of quicks. A likely NFL starter, he could play left end or under tackle in a 4-3. He's a five-technique prospect for the 3-4.

Draft Projection: Mid-second to early-third round

Were the Hell do you people get all of this **** Why is every thing doomsday

    Central Florida DT Torrell Troup

A mainstay at the thankless nose tackle spot in George O'Leary's Golden Knights defense, Troup only flashed penetrating ability in college. His primary role was to occupy double teams in front of middle linebacker Cory Hogue (UCF's leading tackler) and alongside right end Jarvis Geathers (11 sacks in '09). Troup still managed five tackles for loss and a pair of sacks as a senior. A 39-game starter, Troup went on to impress by exhibiting natural power at the East-West Shrine all-star event. At 6-3, 310 pounds, Troup could afford to add weight to his frame and offers starting potential as a two-down run stopper. Troup fits both the 3-4 and 4-3 schemes, increasing his draft value.

Draft Projection: Mid-third to fourth round

  13. Well...with a reach in the 2nd for a NT (that has the weight of a 4-3 DT) and a reach for a 4-3 DE in a 3-4 Defense (that is freakishly athletic but lazy) let's get Selvish Capers a converted TE to play LT.

We might as well pick up Trinton Holliday (5'5 punt returner) to play OLB or FB in the 6th or 7th.

  14. sorry guys we arent taking people based on mel kipers big board. theres obviously something wrong with the tackles in this draft if buddy isnt taking them. example bruce campbell- guy couldnt block worth a lick at maryland and everyone sees the sports science thing done on him this morning and gets a boner. first you guys bwhine about taking spiller bc he was a "luxury" pick then u whine about carrington and troup because they were "reaches" according to kipers big board. remember we had the worst run defense in football last year and these last two picks are dominant against the run. i dont know what more you guys want.

I agree this has been a GREAT Draft so far

  15. Yes, I posted earlier in the thread that I could imagine Al Davis saying yes, but I couldn't imagine Ralph Wilson signing off on this.

However life is about opportunities and this is actually a historical opportunity.

A wise organization wouldn't dismiss this opportunity out of hand.

A WISE Organization would not even contemplate this asinine move

  16. Shocking that Ralph wasn't interested in taking on that contract.

So Rapelsburger raped or tried to rape 3 to 4 know women, and we do not have a clue how many did not speak up, But the decision to not bring him in is only because Ralph Wilson is Cheap? We had the 12 highest paid team in the league did Ralph get what he paid for ?
